Beyond the insanely good art direction, what's really standing out to me watching this is the sound design. The truck going down the road with the crunch of gravel... game is all about the atmospherics.

YES! I’ve been recommending Inside probably for a couple years, I love this game so freakin much.

Makes me wonder if he ever played limbo

Inside was one of those games that stuck in my head for a week after I'd finished it. I'd give anything to hear someone from Playdead go into the worldbuilding and background of the game but they've said they'll never do that.

This is going to sound weird, but a lot of it is supposed to be metaphors for different kinds of socialist / leftist theory. For example, the mind control devices, are supposed to represent authority, and when a mind control subject controls another subject, that's introducing the idea that oppressors themselves can also be victims, and more broadly it's a metaphor for social hierarchy. At the very end, the large blob is a physical representation of the collective consciousness of the society it's a part of, and it's responsible for administrating the demands of the upper class, the men in suits at the very end of the game. Once the boy and his ideas are assimilated into the blob, it revolts against the system now that it's aware of its evilness. The upper class then pretend to try and help the blob, but really they're just luring into passivity again. The game then ends with the blob successfully contained and exiled, presumably its efforts mostly wasted, and its role replaced with a new blob.

Man, Inside is my #1 personal favorite indy game. The silent narrative, world atmosphere & puzzle solving kept me in complete bliss. I beat this game in 6 hours the same day I got it. I literally could not turn it off.

This is utterly incredible!!! That’s an understatement tbh! But 46:38 when you got that jump scare swimming to the submersible! Omg I spat my salad out laughing so hard 😂😂😂😂

Dude i remember playing this along time ago. Such a refreshing yet chilling experience. Glad ur playing it.

This game has a lot of environmental storytelling, often times within the background basically letting you know what might happen. For example when the guys were up on the bridge with their lights aimed at the water. I was obsessed with this game when I first played it years ago, from the animation, to how progressing by moving left to right reveals so much and tells an interesting story while building a chilling and engaging world. The puzzles that really get you thinking just enough but never frustrate you. I swear it's such small details that work fantastically with this game and make it an instant classic. Edit: Also Idk if this has been mentioned yet but the developers of this game made a game called Limbo if you haven't checked it out yet.

I play this game every year because it's just so good. It's like when you find a movie that you love and re-watch it several times throughout your life. I can't wait for Playdead's next game, they take awhile to make them but damn is it worth the wait...also cool fact -- some of the music was recorded in a human skull!

Thata twisted as Fuck...if you all havent realised yet this is our future! Mind control is a real thing and has been going on for a long time...how do yhey come up with these games? Most likely because its real...800,000 children go missing in America every year! Every year!

Honestly one of the best Indie games ive ever played. Ive run through it several times. The artistic design and mood is just incredible. And the mechanics are mind blowing. Glad you gave it a play through.

I remember accidentally stumbling across this game. Freaky, crazy, intense, wild, simple, yet not. I love it. Major props to the devs

I was very sad as it was my first day this year enjoying the weather in the garden, but this time it was different then other years, as in december my dog passed away after being with me for 15 years. And we always loved to be in the sun in the garden together. Kind of in a rough patch in life in general. Thank you for how you share your love for the game, how you show respect the creators and atmosphere and how you are an ambassador and this game deserves it. I had a lot of chores to do today and I thought id turn off this video after like 2 minutes but WOW this game is utterly immersive. I couldnt stop watching, what an incredible little game.

Playdeads inside is a game that throughout the play through, reveals bits and pieces of what really happened in the games plot. You really have to imagine why the boy is running and why the world is the way it is. Same thing goes for the games limbo and little nightmares. Very intriguing and interesting games. Hint: there’s a secret ending in this game, you have to pull plugs from these balls with lights. There’s a few scattered throughout the game. After pulling all of them, back in the corn fields is a trap door you can open and there’s a door which u have to figure out the code to.

Hardcore gamer and I loved this game. Played it a few years ago. Relaxing, eerie and cool problem solving. Weird too. I'm 68 and stayed at a Holiday Inn so I know a little about what makes a good game. 😂 This is one.

When I played it a couple of years ago, it was an incredible experience for me. Never forgot it. I played it in my 30ties and it impacted me like the adventure games I played as a teen. Amazing game!

This gameplay, whole atmosphere, the backgrounds ,mindcontrol just reminded me of the oldest oddworld on ps1 Damn that was awesome!!

I always appreciated video game like these. I get motion sickness when it come to most videos games so I cant really watch as many but this is something I can definitely enjoy as well as being told a good story. thank you to the game developers and to Hollow as well for playing it. :D

I've been playing it for a few years. I don't want it to end. haha I load it, play it and unload it! I was traveling in a sub, the other night, deep..... where the light scared something. haha My 4- 1/2 year old son missed it and thought i was kidding. Until it tried to attack again and again with his crazy hair. haha Crazy game man..... GREAT STUFF!!! Love the evil dog packs.... PURE GENIUS!! Climbing the fence, with the evil dogs bitting me and pulling me off the fence. We laughed, laughed and laughed. A great father and son moment in time!! Lol

This game looks and plays great!! Thanks Hollow! You gave me my evening gaming fix. 😊

Honestly this game is quite awesome! I don't remember which KZreadr I watched gameplay from but after seeing this video it made me quite happy someone played the game in 2023! I did miss this game the older games that came out will always be my favourite!

Played this a few months ago, great atmosphere, so simple and yet so hard to put down. Every puxzle is rewarding. So here for the accidental ASMR too!

This was in my top 5 favorite games in the Xbox one era just a fantastic game! The puzzles get tricky at times but the atmosphere chef kiss! Great game! Also this game was made by the folks who did Limbo

I found out I could play it on Xbox Gamepass so I installed it on my XBOX, what fun!!! it's immersive too, playing with surround sound setup is awesome. And your comment on ASMR is spot on, it's very relaxing even though you die often if you just push forward without analyzing the scene.

The devs are danish, I am swedish. The way nature is depicted in this game is speaking to me more than in any other game, perhaps with the exception of Dear Esther. This kind of forest, sea or field in a gray light look very similar to our landscapes, and many of us nordic people feel at peace, rather than being scared or sad, in those places.

Inside is one of those games you need to play on a dim, rainy day, by yourself. It's something that makes you ask questions, and wonder what the meaning is.

Someone posted this video in the Inside Speedrunning server and I'm glad they did because I would've never found this great channel without that btw if you want a cool challenge in this game, you should try out min jumps or effortless which we've been routing on the server for a few weeks
