Supposedly, as I remember it, Francisco Lopez was herding cattle and decided to take a nap and have a small lunch under an oak. Legend has it he pulled up a wild onion only to find some placer gold clinging to the roots. I'm amazed that oak is still there, as it was rather sickly in the 60s and 70s when I lived in the area!

You were very close to there when you did the Lost Boys bridge which I had no clue about. This video was full of things I didn't know about, and used to hike all those hills. Very very good video! I've worked out on the golden oak movie ranch for a chevy commercial. We built a house out there and on my breaks I had fun exploring the lot and facades. I believe old shows like old yeller were shot out there back in the day. I was unaware the park behind it was there so thanks for showing us. I will have to visit with the family and do some exploring. 👍👍👍
