I came upon your video’s yesterday, Sunday, and can’t stop watching you! I am retired, have been knitting for over 50 years. I am from the middle of the USA, Nebraska. I hope to travel east someday. I wold love to walk into your shop! ❤. I am working on a cowl called Sallah. I was close to finished, when it was obvious I did not have enough yarn to finish. So I started over, using the open end of the skein, but cast on a little over half the stitches required. Now I will have enough to knit the entire cowl and then knit the I-cord required. I am also knitting a double sided stocking cap, toe up, 2@atime socks, magic loop and the Navelli sweater. I am always knitting dishcloths, hot pan holders and scrubbies for gifts. I have trouble with wooden needles, because I press too hard while I knit, especially the smaller size needles. I break one of the needles almost every time. I use stainless steel needles most of the time. Chiagoo is my favorite. ❤. Do you use/sell FLEXI-FLIPS? I like to have them on hand, but they do come in handy when you need a double point needle. They come in a nice plastic storage tube. I store all my DPN’s in their own toothbrush traveling holder. It works great! The biggest project I have ever made was a Queen/King size afghan for my grandson and his new wife for their wedding, called Tree of Life. Socks are probably my favorite project to knit. I have several socks I need to mend. They may be several years old, but I can’t throw them. 😢 What is your opinion on cotton knit sweaters? I am leery to knit a cotton sweater, cuz I read comments that cotton stretches. I have one pair of cotton socks, and do not care for the texture which bothers the bottom of my feet.

Currently working on a large afghan for family member relocating away from home - so sending the him off with a hug from me. Yarn is a cotton with a bit of acrylic - wanted it it have "weight" and easy care. These day I am almost exclusively using interchangeable circulars. Have about every size (except for the smallest that many circulars did not come in when I added to my collection) and multiple cables of assorted lengths. Started my knitting life on metal 14" straights! Now circulars for flat, in the round or magic loop serve all my needs. I have them mostly in wood but a few metal or acrylic mixed in. Afghan is an old Lion brand pattern for a simple diagonal baby afghan. Originally done as a square, but I adapted for rectangle and make it to fit a twin/full size bed!

I'm Cheryl from San Antonio, Texas. I am making a wool blanket from one of Stephen West's patterns, Painting Bricks. It's getting very heavy. What's funny is that no one thinks a woolen blanket makes sense where I live but I appreciated all of my woolen items when we had a freak snowfall in 2021 and the power went out for days.

Hello! My name is Ulrika and I'm sitting very comfortably knitting and watching you from the west coast of Sweden. I wish I could visit you and your lovely store and sit and knit and chat for a while! After having completed the Seascape wrap, knit in Drops Fabel and I also held it with Drops Kid Silk, I've now begun with at blanket using yarn from my stash. Had to frog a project I started because I wasn't happy with the colour combination (the second Seascape wrap I had just started). So, now it's a blanket and I'll design it as I go. It'll be a project that I'll knit over a longer period of time so in between I'll finish my Filcolana Saint Malo, I've the sleeves left and it'll be a lovely jumper to wear. It's the first time I knit in that yarn (Merci) but not the last. After that I have a few jumpers to knit and mainly from Sandnes. I learned to knit at a young age and it was my mother who taught me. We also learned to knit in school and I rememeber I was very proud having completed my first jumper and in three colours at the age of 13. Didn't knit for many, many years but now I must knit every day. Also love watching different podcasts while knitting and this spring I found yours. Looking forward to your next podcast! 🌞🌞🧶🧶🧶 All the best Ulrika

On the needles - Slipstravaganza by Stephen West, Ranunculus #2 in a DK Juniper Moon Farm yarn in a lovely lavender shade, Mynstur colorwork cowl (gift) in La Bien Aimee fingering weight yarn (oh boy-such a pleasure!) and a "log cabin" blanket by Stephen West called Parallelolamb (modular knitting- use all your leftover skeins...literally anything and everything) for my child who will graduate from high school next Spring and leave the nest. I love Stephen's designs. I can't wait for his MKAL in the Fall. **Someone mentioned pockets for a tutorial. I would love to learn more about that - especially an 'afterthought' pocket. Hi Nancy, I enjoy your episodes, you are an amazing encouragement to improving my knitting! I'm from the Northern San Francisco Bay Area, I am knitting socks. Just learned to knit them in early 2023. Love them, will always have socks on the needle now. Just finished my 3rd pair and gifted them to a sick friend. She loved them. I find with every pair I improve. Started with magic loop method and now using 9" circular method which I like very much. I'm also knitting a sweater for my daughter in law. It is a sweater called Vanessa V-neck by Michele Rose Orne, Using the very lusious Juniper Moon Farms Moonshine in Colorway 09 called lagoon, an electric teal color. So Soft!!!!! Alpaca, Wool, Silk content. The question I have for you is I want to see your technique for lace lifeline. My next sweater is Zweig, with main color in medium gray wool and yoke in pink lace gradient. The yoke has lace detail I have never done before. I heard of adding a lifelinbe in case I make a mistake and need to rip back so need to find out best way before I start this project. Thanks for your continued knitting support! Carrie

Hi Nancy and friends, I’m Judi from Wilmington MA. I come to the shop occasionally, but right now I’m using up stash making small gifts. Just finished Casapinka’s Long Story Short using Miss Babs Yummy. My “Zoom” project is the Ankers Summer Sweater like you were wearing, using stash from Church: Cascade Sierra. My commuter rail project is a cotton dishcloth. The “pay attention” project is this year’s Shetland Wool Week beanie, Buggiefloer, using left over Shetland yarn from previous Fair Isle projects. Thanks so much for the great podcast!

Hello from yorktown Virginia. Bloody hot here! I do almost anything with knitting, some weaving but I am not too good with it. I have 2 shawls in progress one child blanket. a fall colored sweater by yamagura( which I hope to be done in fall) on knitting for olive(tiny stuff). A few heavy sweaters for winter but really not the climate for really heavy stuff. The wool and cotton blend yarns are good for us. Love seeing popular patters with yarns is very helpful as mostly small shops and limited yarns here. Always looking for scrappy projects and easy projects for knitting groups that knit for Appalachia (especially children). So thanks for these sessions I know it does take prep work to do it.

Hi Nancy, I'm from the New Orleans area and am currently working on Samantha Guerin's Pine Creek top. I will admit that 'summer' sweaters for others are often appropriate as fall/winter sweaters here! Enjoy your podcast, especially your tips and tricks.

I live in the southwest of Germany near Stuttgart. I’m in a virtual zoom knitting group from Boston and this is how I came across your podcast which I love to watch. Hopefully one of these days I’ll have the opportunity to come to Boston and visit your beautiful shop. Currently o doing a testknit for creBea the leith cardigan and I’m participating at the myak summer kal with joji locatelli and needles at the ready. I’m knitting on the pure joy shawl. And of course there are always socks in the background. As the saying goes: when I sits, I knits.

Hi, I am from Portland, Oregon and I have been knitting for 25 years. I usually have several projects on the needles -- mostly sweaters and some shawls. Right now, I am focusing on summer tees and those are the Seashore Stroll, Salty Air Tee, and Alpine Bloom. I hope to visit your shop this fall when I am in the Boston area! Thanks for asking and have a great rest of your summer!

G'day from Sydney, Australia. I used to live in Newton, MA and your beautiful store was my happy place! Still knitting like a madwoman. On my needles right now- Kari Cardigan and Yvonne MT shawl from Natasja Hornby (I'm a huge fan) and the Sille Slipover from Petite Knits. This year, I have also finished a Monday Sweater (Petite Knits), a Striped Pup Pullover (Stephen West), a Sunday Morning Shawl (Espace Tricot) and a Saturday Shrug (Jackie Rose). I am gifting the last 3. Meanwhile, although it's winter, it's turned warm-ish here, too warm for all my sweaters anyway. Next time, I am in MA, I will be sure to stop by. I enjoy your podcasts!

I'm in Chepstow, South Wales in the UK. I'm currently knitting my husband gansey type cardigan of my own design, inspired partly by the camel scarf that is draped in the background of your podcasts. I have also had several baby garments on the go as I had three babies to knit for, all due in July. Two have arrived safely, both little girls. A few ideas for knitting for babies and todlers would be really great. I look forward to seeing you every week. Thanks

Hi Nancy! I am your regular viewer from Finland, and I really enjoy your vlog. Currently I am knitting my first ever summer tee. So far, I have mostly knit sweaters and socks since our climate pretty much allows to wear them almost around the year. I just moved recently and I am looking for ideas to knit for home decoration. I have plans for a few gift knitting projects too.
