    I think it’s because Rhett wasn’t really trying to involve Link at all when giving these anecdotes. Sometimes it seems like everyone accepts Rhett as the main character even though it’s both of their show. That being said, I appreciated the scientific tidbits from Rhett

    Fun Fact: Owls have tubes for eyes instead of spheres which means their eyes are fixed in place so that’s why owls can look in an at most 270 degree twist

    I just had to write a biology paper on the animal with the craziest eyeballs and vision, I went outside the box and went with Owls because of this fact. luckily my CC Professor (Rhett is somewhere frowning lol) loved it haha. Its honestly wild how cool they are

    As a zooarchaeology researcher I love this episode! and Rhett the bone ring around the eye of the bird is called a sclerotic ring. It is a series of bony plates (ossicles) that support the animal's eye!

    As someone who took mammalogy in college, I enjoyed this. And that boney Mohawk thing is called a sagittal crest. I always thought of how you can really feel it on some dogs when you pet their head.

    Their eyes are also not spherical but tubular. That is what mostly gives them 270 degree vision at any fixed position. Thats why the eye sockets look like cones.

    Actually, Rhett, the reason zebras aren't domesticated isn't that they're skittish. It's that they actually can be quite aggressive and temperamental. They'll charge, stomp, bite, etc. Like a moose. You don't try to tame a moose for the same reasons.

    I got a great idea for a podcast for Rhett. He needs to talk about the stuff he knows like animals, history , etc. Then give his thoughts on things about what he talks about. And call it Rhett knows things . I would watch it 😝
