When you going to be in San Francisco? I love our trolley buses - riding one up a steep hill was what convinced me that electric motors are inherently, and by a wide margin, superior to combustion engines for moving stuff. Diesels simply can't handle some of these hills and trolley buses handle them with ease. The only problem I ever had with trolley buses is when they come unhooked, the driver had to get out in the middle of traffic, walk back and manually pull the trolley poles back into position before getting back in & driving on. The newer buses I've seen have retractable poles controllable from the driver's seat, and batteries capable of taking the bus a good distance. But I'm sure you'll have a lot more details about that in the video. Looking forward to it!

I was thinking SF Bay Area also, since I live in Sacramento. However, it occurred to me that there might be other “bay areas” so was going to ask for clarification on which. SF does have trolley buses (been on them also), but they might be around on the east coast too.

You owe us no apology. Check out John and Hank Green if you haven't in a while, I love how they communicate candidly with their community about when they need time to tend to their lives. I hope this community will extend you the same grace. After all the whole notion of transit-tube is creating healthier spaces for people to simply exist. What would it mean if the expectations we impose on you or that you impose upon yourself in the process of changing minds and elevating conversation aren't ultimately conducive to the same ends. In short, be good to Alan, Alan has been plenty good to us, and he deserves it.

I really like ur jacket. And I get what u mean with scripts. I’m currently making my first foray into urbanism videos about a pretty infamous city in my home country 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 (anyone guess which city) but trying to nail the script and make sure it’s engaging but also congruent and not all over the place has so far taken me a month.

No worries Alan. As a Bay Area native, I hope you have an awesome time. As you may be aware, though, we are expecting rain ☔ later this week. Hopefully it doesn't cause any problems.

Don't worrt about talking fast, I set the video to 75% speed and it sounded totally normal.

Talking while walking takes a bit more breathing I think, so you can end up rushing the words out with the increased/required breathing, especially if there are factors like eating recently, allergies, holding multiple things at a consistent height above the green zone, or humidity. That said, the pace seemed fine to me. 🤷 Also, I always feel bad for people in the business of making content feeling like they need to apologize for any delays in that process. I kind of get it if there's a financial element, like with a patreon that takes payments by the passage of time, or some kind of pre-order, but usually I feel bad that they feel like they need to make a public apology over nothing; things take time. Anyway, you're alright, good luck have fun.

I am very interested in making cities better and improving transportation, and I was wondering if you had any experience if there are any careers or career paths that help with this. I am currently a civil engineering major in school, and I am unsure if there is anything I can actually do. Any advice? Also think rail is interesting

*KZreadr tries to make high quality videos* kzread.info/dash/bejne/Yphq26SBdNmxhdo.html Tbh, most high quality videos on KZread are rarely made by a single person, usually they are made by teams containing: a host, videographer, writer, editor, etc; or if it is a single person, the channel has multiple members contributing to the brand, where one person might be working on a video, there are 2 or three other contributors, so a video is always releasing on schedule. The other side is like you Alan, a single person making the videos, and yeah, these things, they take time.

@@brandonking1737I don’t prefer Hbomberguys style, Alan Fisher wants to be able to do political advocacy and when it takes so long to make videos any amount of momentum you gain just fizzles out. I really don’t care for Hbombs stuff unless it’s political, I don’t have the energy or time to watch a four hour KZreadr drama video by a guy I’ve seen all of the other videos from.
