In just 8 weeks, 18 orphans have found their ways to us at the Vervet Monkey Foundation, each with a unique story of resilience and survivals. These babies are counting on us for a second chance at life, they have overcome so much and we are on a mission to make sure they thrive.
The Vervet Forest is a wildlife documentary focused on the lives of the monkeys at the Vervet Monkey Foundation in South Africa . We join the orphaned and injured vervet monkeys in their adventure and struggles as they battle their way through the foster monkey mom program to become part of a monkey troop again. This channel is for those monkey lovers who enjoy monkeys living their lives as monkeys should.

The foster moms are great, after they have the baby, they take it to the milk feeding cages. You people and the moms are wonderful

They find new brothers, sisters, mums, aunties, all together a new family and community. Dave and everyone connected to the Vervet Forest working tirelessly for these tiny people are their voices crossing the unspoken barrier between humans and monkeys translating their needs into a language both species understand. Love this, after seeing channels where they were abused pets or hounded by video operators in the wild, this is so wholesome.
All the babies are so cute I can't decide witch one is my favorite. I love that these fur babies are meeting their new moms😊❤

Sanctuaries are great for these cute little ones. Not dressed in clothes & not used to support someone's lifestyle.
Lovely monkeys! They get looked after so well even through tough times like losing their mother, they get a good life with these people 😊

I'm confused..once the babies find a foster mom, do they breast feed them? And if they do, How do they have milk if they didn't birth a baby?

Hi! There's an entire system of getting milk from what are known as feeding cages that have bottles of milk in them and are placed throughout the various troops. The bottles are cleaned and refilled a number of times throughout the day. There are truly wonderful longer videos on the Vervet Monkey Foundation channel that show the Foundation and the entire process with each baby, from rescue to release into a troop, with a monkey foster mom. There are about six years worth of videos on the channel now and I highly recommend them!! You've asked a really good question!! I hope you'll enjoy the longer videos!! Ciao!!
