My Sony x900e broke after four years in warranty Sony replaced it with x90J, so the warranty you get can be more important, I do however believe the direct sunlight on one half of the screen caused the issue in the first place

I have an LG 65EG9600 with 19,615 and counting hours on it. Manufactured May 2015 used as display television at Magnolia store inside Best Buy. Purchased as an open box in December 2015. It’s still going strong and only has color issues in the 4 corners. Contemplating 77” C3 or sticking with 65” and going with G3. Viewing distance would accommodate 77” just fine, only would have to raise current wall mount a few inches.
I understand the excitement about upcoming Bravia 7 and 9 reviews, but PLEASE don't leave out a review of the Bravia 8 OLED. Love your review and "You Asked" videos. Thanks for all of your hard work!

I have an LG OLED 55E6P that I bought in 2017 and it has 22800 hours on it and it is still going VERY good. The only mistake that I made was having an Apple Mac Mini hooked up to it where I didn’t always have full screen on and I have burn in from the dock on the bottom of the TV. It only shows though if you see a screen that has solid red, orange, pink or a shades like that. That is minimal though.
Great episode!! Especially glad you answered the question about the 21x9 aspect ratio! I had that question too. It sounds like you are super busy with all those TVs to review!

B7 here. About the same amount of hours as Barry. Mainly gaming age it’s still glorious. Only burn in I’ve noticed is the YT logo. Getting a g4 end of this year.
I am stoked for the upcoming audio reviews!
22k hours on my LG GX 65". It has a few dead pixels along the top edge, and the top and bottom edges give a "burnt paper edge" look. But it isn't noticeable when watching or playing games. Plus, during movies this edge is blocked by the black bars. Overall I've been extremely happy with it, so I just bought a G4 to replace it. It hung on the same wall mount as the GX.
Keep up the good work! Love the reviews!

According to what I have seen so far the bravia 8 and A80L is pretty much the same the bravia 8 is a bit brighter but not enough for you to notice it and the A80L is dirt cheap on sale now.
I personally think comparisons between similarly priced Sony LCD’s and equally priced OLED’s would be great. A lot of us came from terrible TV’s to decently priced LCD’s, and the possible move to OLED turns some of us away, because on paper they’re less bright. I can get a C4 for the same price as a Bravia 7, and they trade blows in so many different areas.

The Bravia 7 reflection handling is so poor it’s the C4 that will actually appear brighter with mid to low APL scenes in a bright room and in a dark room you have the pixel level 3D dimensionality of an OLED. Perhaps give the S90C a look, it’ll be brighter in every situation except for very high APL scenes. BTW, you can get a 77C3 for the price of a 65C4 and those additional inches will have much more of an impact than any improvements from the C3 to C4.
@paulcox2447

They really don't trade blows if you actually see both of them. The Bravia 7 looks washed out in comparison and it's only advantage is full screen brightness. Sony didn't reinvent the wheel with the LCDs this year.

I am one of many that realy want that Sony Bravia 7 review asap ! The Bravia 9 is just way to big and expensive for me. Re full peak brightness on the whole screen would way exceed what the power supply is capable of and would be like staring at the sun causing eye damage very quickly. Re 21:9 screens, i have a motorised screen and side curtains for my projector so i can set them to fit any ratio. For my Plasma i feed it through a high grade upscaler that also allows me to adjust the image to fit a 16:9 screen with no black bars but it does crop some of the image

Hi Caleb, what makes most sense for my next Sony OLED in your opinion (normal use, bright room, not a nit nerd)... 2024 Bravia 8, 2023 A95L OLED, or 2022 A90K OLED?
Yes!! Please I need the bravia 7 review ASAP. The bravia 9 is a little out of my price range for what I'm willing to pay for a tv. Even the bravia 7 is a little more than I normally would spend. But I'm hoping it's worth it.
I have had the 75" Bravia 9 for a few weeks now, and I absolutely love it. It's the best TV I've ever had, and I've had a lot of OLEDs including the A95L. I just prefer the look of the Bravia 9 over OLED. It's like having OLED as far as the contrast goes but a LOT brighter. Much more impactful, colorful picture. Buy one and thank me later!!
My 55 C9 has over 17000 hours still looks beautiful I haven’t noticed any burn in I watch cable tv M-F cable sports Netflix and streaming movies it’s been an awesome tv knock on wood..

Thanks for the update on the Bravia 9. I just ordered one but it wont be here until June 28. I still have time to cancel if I need to so I'm eagerly awaiting your review to make sure I made the right choice.
As someone who loves their 21:9 gaming monitor, I would absolutely buy a 21:9 tv, assuming it was affordable and NOT curved and if 21:9 content was displayed properly.

I don't know chief... the 21:9 for tv is just too wide and even for home theater TV. You loose much on the actual verticality of the display. You can get more display field of view with 16:9 then with 21:9 and plus you get to lose all the massive imax details when they're shown on 4k UHD blu ray.

Hi Caleb. A few years after the introduction of flat tv’s Philps Netherlands allready introduced a 21 to 9 flat screen. Problem was that 16:9 pictures had to fit. This could only be done stretching the picture. This did not sell

Hi, I’m from New Zealand and I’ve had the LG C1 for 2.5 years. Recently, I started experiencing dead pixels, so I raised the issue with LG customer care. They tried to fix it and replaced my panel three times, but they couldn’t resolve the problem. As a result, they offered me store credit. Now, I’m considering the LG G3, which is about 2,000 New Zealand dollars cheaper than the new LG G4. TVs are generally more expensive in New Zealand. Should I go for the G3? Will I miss out on anything significant by not choosing the LG G4? Thanks for your advice!

Where's the TCL QD qm7 review I would love to see you review it!
I just got a Samsung Odyssey G8 OLED, which supposedly has anti-burnin tech in it. Do TVs have this same feature? I'm a bit out of the loop, but hopefully mine will last! I'm still riding out my old Samsung Plasmas for main TV usage until they die, no burn in yet even after around 10 years of use.
Over 5,307 hours and counting for my LG C2 42" TV. Got this TV in middle of last year and I love it. However, I'm hoping to get a 32" 4K curved monitor so I can do some gaming. The reason why I prefer curved is so I can see the sides of the screen easily. I have my 42" TV about a couple of inches from me by using an arm mount which mounts to my desk. I understand that many people don't like curved screens and I get that. But if a curve screen can help me see better without having to move on close to the sides while gaming, that would be great.

Hello! do any of the oled 65" / 77" tvs have muilt-view or picture in picture mode, looking to buy one. LG or Samsung. Nobody talk about this feature when doing reviews!
Why do the Sony Bravia soundbar pictures from whatever Sony event you were at have the rear surround speakers up front like that? Why do that unless you plan to introduce front L&R speakers?
There are people on AVS forum who have measured plasma TVs with over 40,000 hours of usage versus the same model with under 5,000 hours of usage. The loss of brightness is minuscule, visually they look exactly the same and you would need a meter to establish the minute difference. OLED will likely never achieve this kind of longevity. In the plasma TVs case, last gen models were rated to have a half-life of 100,000 hours but that was actually an underestimation. New panels have improved in a lot of ways but have also nose dived when it comes to build quality and longevity.
@SterkeYerke5555
11 күн бұрын
We'll have to keep an eye on the longevity test from rtings. They're now up to 9600 hours with the oldest oleds they're testing. None of them have decreased in brightness as of yet, though the CX does suffer from severe burn in. Tbf, they've been showing CNN for all of those 9600 hours. Of course the CNN banner is going to burn in
We want you to also review the LG QNED91T 75 inch tv please 🥺
To me, I feel like the purpose of really high nits will be to support strobing tech like BFI. BFI can (if done properly) reduce effective/visible brightness by 50%. That's a really dim picture even on a 1000 nits display. But on a 3000+ nits display? That's not bad at all, especially for colors other than white and might also be necessary to avoid black crush from over dimming during BFI.
Good show❤
What is the Apple TV actually doing with 21:9? Is it detecting 21:9 content and filling a 21:9 screen with it? Does it therefore put black bars automatically on the left and right of 16:9 content to display it full height on a 21:9 screen? Does it handle variable aspect ratio content ok? How does it handle odd aspect ratios on a 21:9 screen such as those sometimes used by Netflix? If it's actually doing all that that's something home theater enthusiasts usually spend a fortune on with mads video processors. Although if it is doing that that would make it an amazing piece of kit for those with wide-screens which makes it even more frustrating it still doesn't do full uncompressed audio pass through.
Hi Caleb, I’m curious to know what you think about the Bravia 7 semi matte coating. I was shocked to see how that coating degrades the 7’s performance in a lit showroom. The famously contentious antiglare coating of the Samsung S95D is nothing compared to that. For me this is a reminder of how important it is to see a tv live before buying.
Please do the flexus review!!! I need to know if it’s worth it
Went in for a 85” Sony 90L and came out with a Bravia 7 because of fomo. I need some calibration videos to get the best out of it. So far really happy compared to my 4yr old 65” Vizio. It’s in a narrow basement so glare and viewing angles are a non issue for me. Using the tv for apps is extremely fast compared to the Vizio. Gaming at first was laggy until I messed with a few setting. Movies are great but still need to play around a little with settings.
@damontroch4765
12 күн бұрын
Those calibration videos are useless. Not every panel is the same. And most all Sony tvs don't need calibration. The difference from out of the box to calibration is so miniscule the human perception would never be able to tell the difference. Save your money.

21:9 (2.33:1) is kind of an odd aspect ratio to go with there on that for a display as it is not quite as wide as Cinemascope 2.35:1 or anamorphic Cinemascope 2.39:1. So, if you watch either of those two formats of film on your 21:9 TV/monitor you are still going to have some small black bars at the top and bottom of your screen (letterboxing) as the image would have to be shrunk down just slightly for you see the entire frame of the film.
Caleb I am so waiting on your review on the Bravia 8... You barely spoke about it that is was a bring over from the a80l but there is a couple of upgrades that might make a good difference... I am on the market for a 75 inch TV... Would have dreamed to get Dolby vision with a s90c or Do but.... They support Dolby vision. But when I look the color on the s90c or s90d... I am amazed... And the price is better then with the lg g4 or the Bravia 9 . I got so many questions... Is the Bravia 9 really the equal of an OLED in term of color volume and saturation and contrast?! Is the Bravia 8 as good as the Samsung s90c or s90d... Even if I would like Dolby vision and if I jump on Samsung s90c (the price is much better for what you get compared to Sony and lg) when I look Dolby vision content (Disney+, Netflix or 4k bluray) do we have a turn down version of the movie is it as good?! I know they have hdr10+ but it seems nobody support it

There are smartphones that roll out to expand the screen, it's possible (once the pricing works out) they they make TVs roll out more screen when needed.
I have a Sharp 70" UH30 4KTV from 2015 averaging 6 hours of use a day(Somedays more), still runs today and picture quality is the same the day I got it...I finally put it in my kids room so I got an excuse to purchase a new Sony 85" Z9K 😅...but I got no doubt LCD TV will outlast OLED still, specially if your maxing out their brightness.
So, with those comments on the Flexus Core 200 and Sub 100 (BTW Klipsch did confirm with me that a Sub 200 is in the makes after I noticed it in the manual). Your initial set up and first listen seemed positive. You also mentioned another person you knew had good things to say. With that said yes I think you should try to get the complete review out ASAP.
I just recently got a G4 after my Panasonic EZ950 oled (2017) started showing exactly what Barry's C6 pictures showed. I had about 22K hours on it. While I did get my money's worth it IS the first tv I had to replace because it wore out, instead of because I felt like upgrading, which sucks. It burned extra because I had (have) my eye on the Panasonic Z95A, but it isn't available yet... :(
If I’m not mistaken Philips had a 21:9 tv once upon a time (forgot the model name)
With more brightness, comes more heat. Heat is something quite bad for electronic components, especially in terms of longevity. Hence, we will be looking at decreasing life span for TVs. To my knowledge, consumer TVs rely on passive cooling, i.e., do not have a fan to cool components down. An advice I learned the hard way is to verify the operational temperature and humidity of your TV. Some TVs work up to 35ºC (~95ºF), which is somewhat low in some parts of the Globe.
My LG b8 has around 30'000 hours on it and still, knock on wood, looks great. Compared it to other sets in home. I do not blast it ever its almost always on ISF dark mode and was calibrated way back and I'm sure its not as accurate as it once was.
21:9 format is the best I've ever had. One in particular was the Philips 58PFL9955 👌Philips was the 21:9 innovater/leader at the time. I would trade in any OLED or Min-LED in 2024 for a new 21:9 aspect ratio TV. I hope🙏 there are manufacturers considering these TVs again, I will be the first to place an order! 😍

Ratios! Just purchased 4k UHD Dune 2 Blu-ray. If the option was available on my X95L Bravia or via the disk menus i would prefer to see Dune 2 in it's IMAX original format. Or at least have the option.
I disagree my 2015 Vizio is still going with no issues and it’s almost 10 years old.
I would love 21 by 9 TVs to come out again. But I believe that these are really four movie fanatics
Hello there It's been 12 days bravia 7 &9 reviews is still noot done
Is there any reason to still even consider the Sony A95L, especially since they have gone up in price instead of down? Is the Samsung S95D and LG G4 the standard now!?

@@chibbyylol but the G4 has a new processor! And the Sony Bravia 9 too!
I mean oled gots deep dark colors but nothing will ever be more fascinating than a 3dtv why I say that because 3d gaming especially on the ps3 they support 3d like crazy it’s like over a 100 ps3 games that plays in 3d
I think 17:9 at DCI 4K would be better than a 21:9, happy medium and a nice visual evolution past HD.
My Samsung plasma is on for anywhere between 10-16 hours a day (some watching, some background) and it's over a decade old. I imagine I've lost some brightness over the years but it still looks pretty darn good otherwise.
