Waaqoyi Galbeed and Bari are actually providences but it can also indicate cardinal directions. Also, I don't know any southerns who called Koonfur as "Konfiir" but as someone from the South, we actually say Koonfur and not Konfiir. But then again, I'm from the Gedo region which is almost all its residents are originally from Central Somalia and East Ethiopia.

You are right in a way so is Sam. The name Ogaden is the internationally known name for that region. So both names are right, but in my view the appropriate name should be somali galbeed. But I am sure Ethiopia will be against that name because that name will suggest that it should be part of somalia because somali galbeed means western Somalia. The name Ogaden is also OK because it also indicates that Somalis leave there. I know not only the Ogadeni tribe leave there. But it is better called Ogaden then the Ethiopians given it other name. The Ethiopians are even calling it the Ogaden imagine if they have named the place in their language or something.

Its so sad that we Somalis hate one another .our ancestors loved one another and dreamed of a greater Somalia but we claim we are not Somali like it’s a disease. Just know your own ancestors would have looked at u in shame for disrespecting the land ,culture and traditions they were willing to die and struggle for .if your from Somalia ,Somaliland ,Ogandian ,Djibouti and Somali land of Kenya.....you are Somali and ur ancestors were willing to die for their name , don’t be the coward that stabbed his ancestors in the back just fit in and act cool .
