Rumor doesn’t always mean it will come out. I remember the titans return days it was rumored we would get a non-exclusive title wave in toy accurate colors yet that never happened.

I ended up buying all three molds of Tidal Wave. He’s just so awesome. Hopefully he’s given a new mold in a future toyline (and no, the one from Titans Return doesn’t count since it was just a recolor of Broadside) or is given a 3rd party figure. I’d love to see the big guy make a comeback, but bigger and more articulated.

Have you tried mix and matching their parts?

Armada tidal is my childhood and the first tf toy i've ever seen in my life

My energon version had the nose droop out of the box so probably a weight issue. Could also be miss-assembly of the ratchets. Either way Tidal wave is one of my favorite decepticons of all time 👍. Thanks for another great video!

forget about tidalwave, that toy guy's dad reveal is the real shit

I use a small, soft bristle paint brush for dusting my transformers. Works great on all that molded detail. I use an even smaller brush for those nooks and crannies that are hard to reach. No dust here!

Tidal Wave was my first ever figure and I remember how happy I was when I first got him on my birthday as a kid. Also to kindly correct you, the coloring is based on the PS2 game appearance of him. Takara’s version from Micron Legend is more faithful to his original coloration we see in Armada. Great review as usual man! Really enjoyed this video! Low key kinda jealous you got the super link Galvatron though lol.

Actually the toy comes first before the anime & PS2 game. U can say the PS2 game Tidal Wave is based on the Hasbro version of the toy.

The best toy from Armada, even the whole trilogy hands down, honestly if my house is on fire and I have to rescue one toy it would be this one, the fact that you can also transform it without taking it apart is a plus, also the droopy front is an issue since I have had it brand new, it is baffling that this toy has almost 20 years and is still sooo good.

@@kamenrideraquarius oh, yeah no cybertron optimus prime is fantastic and is my favorite of the unicron trilogy but for just Armada Unicron and Tidal Wave are right at the top.

that toy guy is a perfect example of looking nothing like what your voice sounds.

Tidalwave in Armada tells scale to f*ck off where he sometimes he's the same size as Megatron and sometimes he's huge and in the Armada game he's a shadow of the colossus boss

Of course it's Tidal Wave, because he's amazing. Let's pray for a new version in Legacy!

Congrats!!! Great figure, this thing survived my kid , 5 at the time, transforming it literally every damn day. He's 22 now and it sits proudly on shelf looking great (mini-con and all). They don't make these toys like they used to!

I’ve been waiting for this review. The second I saw his feet I let out a full body gasp. I remember playing with Tidal Wave back when I was way younger, this guy was a huge nostalgia bomb

I hope legacy does one I know that this year's it's Cybertron metroplex but there's always the next year.

And now about 2years later, we finally get a Titan in Tidalwave.

I just got the only 2 core class Soundwaves from my local Wal-Mart! One to open and one to keep in the box. It is really good and I'm so happy I found him!!! Also I love how you used the minicon from Vector Prime in the video! I have him and he is a great figure.

Local toy store I went to had this listed on their website for a while, but then took it off. Made me think they sold it but then the girl at the store told me that they just couldnt find it. I went in today for my usual browsing and somehow, she had found it the other day. Im proud to say Tidalwave is apart of my army now

Dude, I agree with you because I was born in the 90s, lots of people today who watch this stuff don't really know that the other shows exist, like Beast Wars and all that. I don't get why kids only go for the newer stuff like what's on now, and while I'm okay with that, I just don't get why kids today don't appreciate a lot of the older series we grew up with.

When TidalWave was released[Armada version] he was $30 and hard to find, most commonly found at K Marts.

Jeez that tidal wave looks like he's been trhough hell and back. The one I've had since I was a kid still looks like the day I bought him, though he was also bought used. Been been on and off seeking out the other versions of him the last several years, not aiming to pay crazy prices as I've seen him complete for around $30 US used his entire existance (unless it's the takara one then ALL people want crazy money for him) The comments about sculpt not being detailed or him not being too posable are kinda odd. He's got all kinds of greebling going on with his sculpt that makes him look like he could feasibly be an actual seafaring vessel that becomes a robot or vice versa, and the only real thing he's lacking is knee and head articulation. Oddly the same knee issue as Armada Megatron, who he's built to combine with. Somewhat of a thematic coincidence in a sense lmao.The droop is caused by his sheer girth, mine was always like that when I picked up the combined mode. In terms of colorschemes, this version has always been one of my favorites. Always kinda just pictured the green as implied scum/rust from constantly being in the water, has more of a "nautical" vibe about it than the takara or energon versions.

Ayy nice seeing you here man, tidal wave really is an awesome figure. I'm seriously hoping at some point during legacy that we get a Commander or even better, Titan Class TW.

Now the new one is coming out. I’m just watching videos of people that have this. I had this when I was a kid and took it everywhere. Of course now I’m in my 30’s I really regret not storing it closer. Been buying legacy figures just cause the nostalgia lol

This guy is pretty cool. Been rewatching Armada lately. My absolute holy grail is transmetal Rattrap. I was never able to get the 90s toy as a kid and I always regretted it. Even occasionally had dreams about buying it. I've got my eye on TransArt's Rattrap but haven't been able to save up for it yet. Hopefully soon.

Scored mine for less than $20 US at a garage sale of all places. Had no idea what it was at the time. But yes, very much a grail. Love it. Sadly, incomplete. I am missing missiles as well and ramjet. But so glad to have what I have.

Got all my stuff when I worked at wal- mart back in the days. I have I have 2 of each figure from G2 starting with in 93. Up until about 2019. I got mine at retail price. Excellent shape, n the shelf for the last 20 years. Then I got 2 energon tidal waves the repaints. Now a Titan size class tidal wave is set for 2024. So Yeah I have 4 tidal waves.

That whole level was so well thought out. How you get onboard Tidalwave in his vehicle mode and scout it only to end up fighting his robot mode

a funny thing you can do is use the ports of the arms and combine them with Cybertron Prime/Megatron or even give tidal wave Leo/Nemesis Breaker

Droop snoot is normal even right out of the box. Had one BITD and sold it about 5 or so years ago. It is due to how the joints.. well.. joint :)

Man, I wish this guy got a modern version, whether it be third party Masterpiece style or official Titan Class 😔

He would be a perfect titan class for the current direction of the toyline.

I think of the green was replaced with a black or different shade of grey from the legs it wouldn’t be 100% accurate but it would look better than what’s current. Maybe you could paint over the green cause it’s just the head, fingers, and shoulders

I actually prefer the Hasbro color version over Takara's original (fight me), It's more varied and the combination of purple and red is neat. I think if all the greens were replaced with reds then it would be even better.

Tidal Wave is as small as he is because he is meant to combine with the Megatron and Galvatron toys in that line. I don't know how he is supposed to scale in-universe without size-changing anyway... and if his toy scaled per his vehicle mode he would be at least roughly three times the size of the USS FLAGG playset from the 1980s.

In my story for transformers the titans are omega supreme (the ark) vs trypticon (the nemesis and darkmount), fort max (an aircraft carrier vs scorponok (a scorpion) ,Broad side (nova primes ship)vs metrotitan (the revenge) ,metroplex (the gates of the well of all sparks and a city) vs tidal wave (three large ships) with the final two with the final two begin the strongest.

If it makes you feel weird that some of your viewers weren't alive in 2003, consider you weren't alive when I was collecting my _second_ line transformers ;p

You can also transform it between vehicle and robot mode without the need to seperate all the pieces

you can't transform him fully when fully combined. you'll need to detatch and rotate the waist portion for robot mode

Maybe non-alcohol wipes from the baby section (ex. Target yellow pack, Walmart blue pack)? I used them to clean a G1-toy, so I wasn’t expecting much, but yeah, cleaned well! CAUTION: I think “Wet Ones” wipes have alcohol.

I had this figure when it first came out and in the combined vehicle mode, the front ALWAYS drooped, it was the only thing I didn't like about the figure. I wish I could find mine, I think I still have it in a box somewhere, unless my ex-wife got rid of it.....
