When Your Child Has A CRUSH | What Would You Do?
The experience of having a crush can begin as early as preschool, and crushes can continue to occur throughout one's life.
Do you know your child's crush?
At what age do you think it is appropriate to talk to your children about crushes, and how far are you willing to go to teach them the right way?
We love hearing back from you! Sound off in the comments below.

Honestly that has been the toughest discuss with my son, at 11, he came and told me mummy I have this girl I like, can I have a girlfriend " my eyes went wide....I lost it and I was so angry with him. With the world going bad, at the back of my mind I had the worst imagination, thanks to my sister,I called her to advise and she was totally different, she guided me on how to talk to him, make him know it was normal, but tell him to look at what comes first. However that came later after I had lost it. I called my son back, we talked through it calmly and since then my son is very open, and confines in me, otherwise I would have lost him. Today with my hubby listening to this, we just wished it came earlier. Thanks Bump Love for opening our eyes. This has become a learning ground for many. Blessings
Recently a boy refused to come to school because the previous day he had seen his "crush" kiss another boy under the table. As parents its calls for vigilance with our children. Thanks ladies for sharing. Blessings galore Love S.Korea
Absolutely Angie, we have to keep in mind the time lost. Two years is a long time and a hell of processes in a child's body. We must speak to them while taking into account their new mindset. And kids these days have much more information than we did back then. Beautiful episode. Love you guys.
Wow! Thanks KZread for putting this in front of me. Thank you lovely ladies. Great topic, great discussion and much needed. Will be sharing this with my young sister.
Such a valuable discussion. Parenting in this era is an extreme sport, may God help us. Dicussions like these are so important and something that I have appreciated with my parents that I would love to create with my children is relationship and a safe space so I don't have to hear about my child's shenigans from the school.
That is a very good point that Angie makes about closing the gap between parents and teachers. We really need that.
Great conversation ladies and such great points 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
You all are great and wonderful moms! Thank you for such an incredible selfless job you all are doing! Blessings to you all and your families ❤️!
I remember a guy who confessed to me he had a crush on me when we were younger. Made me want to confess to my to my crush, Lord I thought he was cool still is. One day i will gather the courage 😂😂😂 Angie's last statement about filling the gap between parents and teachers totally agree, you cannot be undermining a teacher's authority in front of your child not cool never have been.We should do better your sending a very wrong message to your child. Overall a delightful conversations from you beautiful ladies.
Honest conversation, God help our new generation. Thanks ladies.
Love you All! . Angie you need your own show👏👏

We need to raise our children using different lenses. When I was growing up, we had no social media. However much we police these children, there will be one who will bring juicy stories in the dormitory. Then others will think they are missing out on social media. Children are curious. How can we satisfy their curiosity? I love Manuela's take on teaching a child the consequence of doing bad. Thank you ladies

OMG! Crushes, Crushes! Nice topic. I crushed on several teachers banange ....kyokka when I look at them now😂😂 I wonder! Nwayz, crushes are normal but times have changed! Forass😆we used to crush n stop at that but now we have to appreciate that kids of late are too exposed n so any thing can happen! As parents we need to talk to our children on crushes! Well-done Ladies.

I'm like you Manuela, I will not let you know, I died with my crush. Am those secretive people in that at uni third year, my dad had to sit me down and ask if I had a boyfriend. I think he didn't see any signs of crushes or relationships, which explains the fact that if your child reaches a certain age without crushes on the opposite sex, you need to worry

This is so informative an episode, i wish all parents can watch it. I was actually having a conversation with a friend of mine who has a kid at kabojja. They were so stressed out about it n not that their child was involved. I told them that these things were there when we were growing up n they r not about to stop. So u just have to play your role as a parent n continue having these uncomfortable conversations with your child. It will atleast help curb these habits. Like Manuela said, we need to table the consequences to these kids n also like Rosette said, schools also have to have a hand in this so that the whole village is involved. Otw parents n teachers have got to be to ready to work hand in hand to see to it that these kids are helped. Thx for the show ladies. Much love🥰😍
Omwana oyo Pumla aliwa 😂😂😂😂😂 Angie
I learned this year that we sexualize and romanticize so many things as adults because we already have been corrupted and exposed as adults. Yet most crushes are innocent things, we can have age-appropriate conversations. As children most crushes are innocent, they can only hold hands. We can teach them about boundaries as they get older, what not to do, not play secret games, etc. I agree with all of you today; let's talk to the children, open up conversations, and show them the consequences.
@pumlanabachwa8668
Жыл бұрын
This is so right BTW. Our corrupted minds just interprete things beyond what children do. But see - one day, just like Adam & Eve, their eyes will be opened and when that happens, you really want to be a point of information. P

When crushes started in my house, I approached it scientifically...we talked about the hormones and what they do to our bodies along the way especially as adolocents....I told them my story and how right now I dont even know where my crush is... We've talked so freely and they understand it more like a biological confusion. A while back I asked my teen son if crushes were happening and he told me nah! The hormones aren't doing their job. It is important to understand their bodies and have reason above those emotions.
I real like bump love ,mother of one

@@pumlanabachwa8668 I am a sucker for budgeting and I know how starting and maintaining a simple household budget can help moms save more and invest, and if they are like me, I typically will save more so I can have money for the fun things. Is this a topic you have considered talking about on the show? I recently conducted a quick survey in my email list and have been quite amazed to note that many of us know about it, want to do it, but do not actually know where our money is going. This gap has motivated me to start working on a digital course for mums on 'getting started with budgeting''. Strange though, I have never made a comment here, even though I watch all your shows and sometimes read through the comments. This week I learnt a new concept DSD (do something different), and showing up in the comments here today is how I am applying the concept!
