I gotta say, I was a dog person my whole life, 35 some years, about 5 years ago i was kidnapped by a group of cats. Love them dearly and care for them to this day, Cats love just as much as any dog, cats are just a different energy. But you have not experienced true real intimate love until you have loved and been loved by a cat. just my 2 cents

We lost our Fizzy a few weeks ago. She was a precious darling. She was a fantastic 21 years old. I lost Smokey a while back and I had her as a child, she was 23. We now only have Gerome, he is a lovely guy, but a bit of a loner... Unlike the others, although he does have his moments. We recently got a puppy. We named him Snoopy. and he is amazing and loves people, and dogs, and cats... Gerome however, does NOT like Snoopy. They are getting there... Its slow, but they are and will get there! Both my wife and I are cat people, but I have ALWAYS wanted to have a dog, so when the chance for Snoop came along, I jumped at it without the wife knowing... She was NOT happy, but she has warmed to him.
