My dad was a U.S. Army Ranger in WWII, a real tough guy but he loved cats which was unusual for a man like that. Shortly before he died I asked him why he liked cats so much. He said once behind enemy lines he slept in a large wooden wheelbarrow with a mother cat and her kittens. It comforted him so much in a time of incredible stress that he never forgot it and loved cats ever since.

I used to own dogs and thought cats couldn’t be as affectionate and loyal as dogs, but I was wrong. No matter how bad a day I’ve had, I look forward to going to bed because I know that within 10 minutes, my cat will jump on the bed purring up a storm, and then sleep in my arms afterwards.

I lost my most favorite and best dog in the whole world in 2006. I never want to feel that pain again. So I never got another dog. Now I have 10 cats some are feral. And I’m very happy and content caring for these goofy, some not so nice lol but at least they’re not hungry or a lone anymore

Just the other day I had to stay on the couch because one of the cats decided to sit with me, and I was so thrilled, she NEVER sits on my lap. 20 minutes later she left, and I could get on with my morning!

My cat was named Stompy he was the most loving cat I ever had he would take over my bed wouldn’t eat dry cat food and even had his own couch in my lounge room he was from me after a snake bite and died on my lap I miss him dearly and I still cry when thinking about him

There are six cats in our house. We don't have cats. We are their staff. They are the true rulers of our house. We love them much, but they are a lovely handful. It is true that dogs prepare you for kids and cats prepare you for teenagers. We love them more than we know. We totally understand when people don't get us cause we are crazy about cats, but we just nod and let people just prattle on. You gotta understand that cats are a mystery with whiskers and 4 paws. They love differently but no less than anyone else. When a cat loves you, it's a gift no different than true love. Enjoy the moments of bliss because they are short and sweet. I hope you all get that gift of a cat's love. It's an immesurable treasure.
