Is it that your self-confidence is based on the approval of others and, therefore, you seek to please people as a means of validation? Is it that it makes you feel like a good person? Is it because it makes you feel important and needed? Is it because you don’t want to appear lazy or uncaring? Is it because you fear you won’t be accepted by others in the group? Or is it just a bad habit? Once you have identified why you are a people pleaser, you can explore alternative ways to have these needs met. Based on what you have said, it seems that you do it to make people like you. If this is the case, then you can find alternative ways of getting others to like you, and/or find ways to be happy as you are without needing the approval of others. Seek to please Allah Islamically, the best way to attain this is to remember that the approval of Allah is more important than the approval of any human being in this life. You can use this thought as a means to motivate your behavior to be that that will please Him as a priority over others. The benefits of seeking His pleasure far outweigh the benefits of seeking the pleasure of those in this life. It will bring you peace and contentment in both this life and the next on a deeper level than acceptance from fellow humans. It could even serve as an indirect way to please others as they feel pleased that you are so serious about seeking His pleasure.

I also get bullied by my looks too. But you know what, everybody ages. What we look right now will change in 10 years. Why should you care about how others say about you? Like mufti menk said, we are all beautiful. Society especially American society had these very dumb beauty standards. I get that its hard, cause not being the 'American beauty standard', people will treat us differently. But there are so many people like you that are facing discrimination because of how they look. If you have a kind heart that's ALL THE MATTERS. Its simple but its hard to believe. I get that. Just know Allah loves you, and you are a beautiful human being. God bless you and your family bro.

I have the same situation… its a very tough and hard situation that i don’t wish also to my worse enemy. I don’t get out from home i go only to work and i come back home… if i could i wouldnt go also to work, because also there people treat me like animal. But i come to conclusion that if you are suffering so much i will opt for some plastic surgeon. Yes, its haram, but the pain that this problem causes you is so immense that you die everyday and i prefer to risk. I know allah will not be happy for my decision but on the other hands he knows that the reason is totally a survival reason. I dont want to do it, because i want to get a lot of girls or do partirs, my purpose is only to start getting respect from people and starting living life without anxiety, stress, depression and find one women to marry. Im sure that Allah can comprehend.

People call me ugly all the time and it hurts. I try to take it with a grain of salt but it always makes me feel like I want to cry. I know that it may not be that big of a deal to you and perhaps no one has ever called you ugly before but it kills me inside and I can’t get over it no matter what. Ojkmtbae first of all nobody is Ugly. The one Who is saying that you are ugly is ugly on the inside. Dont be sad about it because Allah swt has done his best with every creature. We are literally unique. Be happy with yourself and know that the creator of all creations have Made you. That is very beautiful! im a 16 y.o girl & it hurts being ignored by everyone! i did a deviated septum surgery cuz of my breathing + my nose it was huge! i still feel ugly and im so devastated being made fun of by friends, being called cringe by everything i do, no to little friends. What hurts more is that all my family members are attractive and my classmates which hurts more cuz my sister gets compliments and GIFTS while im besides her being ignored. I WISH I ALWAYS make duas to AT LEAST have a small flower gift or a note card. At this point im waiting for my death to come and be attractive in jannah inshalla because y’all don’t know how sick and vomit everyday because of the situation

When you get married, you can have flowers and notes from your husband but not from non-mahram guys in school or wherever. May Allah bless you and grant you all goodness in the dunya and akhirah

I m also very skinny and I often hear this from relatives neighbors like Ur soo skinny Ur soo skinny I actually don't care and about colour being dark is my bad it's actually beautiful see how many models are dark around the world so many celebs so tell to stop

We are living in a society where everyone is ready to judge you negatively. One of my friend is suffering in severe social anxiety and he always wear mask in public places because he thinks he is ugly and has fear of judgement. Low self-esteem is biggest reason of this. I am non-Muslim but I will definitely share this with my friend. Hope this will elevate his self-esteem.

You got bullied? Then man up a little and teach that punk a lesson... I remember when I was in grade 4 I got bullied a ton and then i decided to grow a pair and I broke my bully nose... Slapped one like crazy 😂 and kicked one so much that his entire lower body for blue for next few weeks... In a sense those bullies... They made me a bully... You know you have to stand up for yourself if you don't then this world will crush you ...

I am 44, never married, no children. I have accepted that Allah SWT just doesn't want me to find a husband. My looks do affect how people see me, whether they like me or not. But I am human. I accept Allah's SWT will, but it is still hard. Most of men my age are married. I look what happens to children in the world and my heart breaks. Some people are rewarded with children and yet abuse them, or do worse. And here I am....I know I am destined to die alone. Am an only child. My father passed on 2 years ago. I still have my mother, alhamdulillah. But, if she goes before me, I know I will die alone. There will be no one to remember me, or say a dua for my soul. I hope and wish all other people happiness. And if you have someone who loves you, respects you, know that you are blessed.

i'm 5'4 and when i go to the street i feel like a child , my face and body looks very young too , i don't even have facial hair and i'm 22 ( i live in north africa Morocco and literally all people from 16 yo + got facial hair ... ) , literally all the women i tried to talk to told me i looked too young or were too short , it's more than torture it's so sickening

Please don't feel like that. You are unique maa shaa allah. Allah swt has created you the best. It don't matter what people think of you, only Allah swt matters. Are the people gonna be with you on the day of judgment? It only matters what Allah swt think of you. You are different than others yes everyone is, isn't that amazing? My suggestion is, just accept yourself, and try to make yourself beautiful inside. Outer beauty is nothing, inner beauty is everything. And to all the woman you tried to talk to Me3lish, in shaa allah your mekteb will come. Maybe not today, tomorrow, maybe next year, Allah swt is the best of planners. Just focus on the akhira and your Dunya also will be good.

My mama criticizes me for my weight and says that It has messed me up even tho I'm not fat or obese, I'm just not skinny like a stick. Relative criticize me for my brown skin and my face in general and say that no one's gonna marry me and I even got rejected. All of this happened around the same time and it has really affected my mental health. I do want to get married and have cute kids and a loving, caring and understanding life partner... The guy I happened to fall for was a very nice dude and I am not able to move on. All of these things remind me of him somehow and it hurts a lot...

@Spiritual Seeker Can't say about Afghanistan but in Pakistan, looks are a big deal. This is the reason we have failed as a nation, focusing on beauty rather than intellect and brain. If you talk about Intellect, you can hardly find someone who can compete with me in this aspect, be it social awareness or education (Not trying to be narcissist though). Everyone is focused on either gossiping or outer appearance.

rainbow whatever hello brother or sister (just a random human surfing the internet.) you are amazing I may have never met you but from what you wrote I believe you are strong just remember “Allah never burdens a heart if they cannot take it” you are extremely strong and I am thankful from coming across your comment because I myself have been feeling low and sad but I have been watching motivational hadiths . I am so happy you exist(this may not mean a lot to you but I am being really sincere). When ever I feel low I just remember that my hardship will pay off one day because I now allah is the all merciful. Greetings from the England may Allah ease your pain and burden ameen.

Allah is testing you , just remember that Allah is sufficient for you , you don’t need anyone else and your not alone🥰 I’ve also been feeling down and upset I’m also hated but you just got to be strong and have hope

I am here. Yes, I am feeling insecure right now. But I don't look for advices or motivation. Really. I am just here to.... I don't know.... Listening to some speech I guess... I don't know. It's so confusing when you have this feeling that couldn't be described by words. I AM grateful for what Allah gave me. Maybe I'm just not feeling well right now

Hope I cns take thsi and build in it I don't want to get mad or angry or ugly towards anyone it's not productive and nothing positive will come from it it's easier said then done but it starts one person and hopefully I can keep positive when the world around me is falling apart positive all I can do
