Ink Sans, the Green Reaper, was asking you to kill him so you would instantly have enough XP for max level. That's why he was skull emoting at you. The reapers on NA usually kill trade before they log out so their XP isn't wasted. Or in his case he had enough to respawn as a Grim Reaper even if you killed him.

fuck wasps, they always try to hurt me even when i mind my own business. One time one just landed on me and stung me as I was standing still, not near his nest. I mean irl by the way, not in-game.

Actually you are wrong with the level 2 reaper (Pumpkin Ghost). because of the lifesteal you both need 4 hits each to kill. But the Pumpkin Ghost has a higher Scythe range so he even counters the Grim reaper
