I was married 12 years, and jokingly asked my husband what colour he thought my eyes were. He got it wrong.
As a teenager, I would fall asleep with my contacts in a couple times a week. Then I read an article about the risks of infection, blindness, all the bad stuff that can happen if you leave them in for too long, don't change them, or don't clean them. Scared me straight!
No joke, Ben better make sure he hydrates the patient’s eyes before taking out those contacts. When I was new to contacts and on accutane at band camp during a VERY hot summer, I took mine out and ripped off huge chunks of my corneas. That was back in 2009 and I STILL have my vision affected by the scarring. Also that was and is my solid standard 10/10 pain.

Okay, I absolutely and sharply gasped at the idea someone actually wore contacts for 8 months. Cesspool eyes. Yeeech.
I wore contacts for 25 yrs. I Always took them out at night and let them soak and clean so they were ready for the next day. I never wanted to mess with my eyes so I was diligent. I knew people who never took their contacts out or cleaned them. You could literally see the calcium deposits on the contacts when looking them in the eye. Sometimes the contacts became discolored. And this is why I have daily disposables…plus they are so comfy. I can’t even feel them in, but if I accidentally nap with them, my vision gets blurry. When I first began wearing contacts, disposables didn’t exist. There were only gas permeable or soft contacts that had to last an entire year. They were so expensive. Actually, many colored contacts aren't as breathable (gas permeable) as clear contacts or RGPs, which makes colored contacts harder on the eye and less comfortable. You might actually do fine with clear contacts worn therapeutically.
I once wore colored contacts to a party when I was younger, I slept in them after passing out and HOLY SHIT the pain and discomfort is unbelievable after one night. Your eyes feel shriveled up and pushed into your brain, you have the biggest migraines and have gluey eyes.

It healed stuck to the contact lens, and when I finally did take them out (that one eye was just a tad uncomfortable), it ripped back open and became a corneal ulcer. Almost lost my vision in that eye completely. And even after multiple abscessed teeth, more than 20 kidney stones, two broken vertebrae as one of many injuries sustained when someone tried to beat me to death with a skateboard, and all manner of normal clumsy person injuries, it is still the most painful thing I've ever experienced. Healing took meds for six weeks, at first I had to put a drop in every hour of the day, even overnight, and I had two meds to alternate. After a week of that I was able to do it every other hour, and then every third hour until the meds were gone. Moral of the story: If one doesn't learn how to take care of themselves, instead blame others for the mishaps, one will never be able to take care of others. 😮💨 I'm a student learning in this optometry industry. "That's so romantic!" Me: OK that was not what I was expecting.
Question: Which character do you think is the most like Steve...?

Ben since he just has that mild aggression.

I think he's mostly like Rich in his off time (with friends etc.), but he's more like Ben when he was working in the ER or when he's dealing with ridiculous people.

i always figured rich was the default stevieoe, seems like the only character who's not "affected"

Ben. Hands down, Ben. Lol certainly not Austin
This is insane!!! I’ve worn glasses since I was five and legally blind. I wore contacts for only high school only because I begged my my doc. They felt like glass and I had to use drops all day. There is no way I could have dealt with leaving them in. I’m not even a Lasik candidate.

idk if this applies but some ppl can get lasik after lens implants

@@cabbeille or just wait until you’re old enough to need cataract surgery, and get the full correction lenses.
Reading the comments and my inner voice saying: Noway people are that stupid, yet here we are
The eye roll I just did at that last line, bloody hell
I felt that OMG in my soul, especially as a fellow healthcare worker who's had it with people being this stupid and having to cater to them. I also have very blue eyes and people always think I'm wearing contacts but I have never worn contacts or glasses ever. This also reminds me of the idiot that had 28 DISPOSABLE contact lenses in their eyes because logic and basic understanding apparently eluded them 😑🤦🏼
I just died laughing lol….well almost died…I am better now
I am CRYING right now!!! The OH MY GOD! at the end makes it art!!!
I shouldn't have laughed as hard as I did at the end 😅🤣🤣🤣
😂😀 New to your channel... Are these sketches based on your actual experiences??
I’m someone who hates their natural eye color, mostly because it’s my sperm donor’s and he was a goddamn monster, but hey: I believe there’s surgeries that let you change eye color. It’s something I’ve looked into so I can help myself to feel better about my eye color

Please don't do it. It's really dangerous. You can become blind because of this surgery

I’ve only heard of the ones that end up harming people

If you mean those surgeries where they implant you coloured linses : DO NOT! There are so many people going blind because of them, it seems fine at first but for many after some years the pain start, and at thies point its often already to late to save your vision

Depending on what color they are now and what you want to change it to... I know of at least one medication that can have a side effect of changing blue and green irises to brown.

Please know that there are millions of people with your eye color. Also, there are worse things than disliking the color of your eyes. I have worked with people who are blind and I would never want to endanger my vision.
These kind of patients are 𝚒𝚣𝚎𝚎𝚎𝚘𝚝
😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣 omg I almost spit out my tea from the burst of laughter.
Poor fuckin Ben 😂😂 hang in there, buddy
I found the maintenance to ba a royal pain so went back to glasses
Youre a really good actor. 😂🎉❤ I love your channel!
I CACKLED at the end.... 🤣"Oh MY God!"
I knew she was gonna say that… and I’m so glad he said that.
That's so romantic! 😂😂😂
I love Ben, he's not going to sugar coat anything and gives zero f***s😂
Man, did you have this conversation, this is to real
He be like dr Melendez from good doctor 😂
Hahahahaahahahaha... This really made me cackle out loud
Hi everyone just some advice, if an eye infection is to occur, please do not bin your contact lenses. Remove then and cease wear immediately however, take them to your local primary care service in a case. If there is an infection they can swab the lens and potentially begin the correct treatment faster.
I laughed out loud at the ending. So romantic 🥰
You are absolutely crazy!!! I love it.
i remember when my depression was really bad and i didnt take out my (corrective vision) contacts for sometimes months at a time lmfao, the pain only really got to me a few months in
that ending lmaoooo
Makes me glad I'm too afraid of things going near my eye to actually use contacts
