That actually reminds me of an old story I heard about a Burglur ended up breaking into the house of a serial killer. Apparently when he found the severed head in the fridge, he noped out of there and called the cops.

It guarantees that the player will have one clean playthrough of the game, but still instills that sense of fear of being caught even if that danger is not truly there. Utter genius!

One thing I love about the last game is that it gives you game mechanics you don't actually need just to freak you out. "Shift to run" when there's nothing to run from. A closet to hide in on an empty floor, turns out you don't need to hide. Really makes you freak yourself out.

I Can See You is another one of those indie horror games where the horror premise is basically just “being a lady after dark.”

Not sure what's more amusing. Jack's genuine screams of terror (35:32) or the comments a character makes while being chased by a madman. "Tomorrow I will clean all these dishes..."

The dialogue of the first one is set up SOOO well. It's such a good way to help progress the story

Ive heard of that before: Don't follow footsteps in dreams. Much like don't listen if you hear voices when walking the tundra. The brain is a weird thing, I wouldn't be surprised if getting trapped in dreams is a real deal coping mechanism

@Loamy Tenebrous There is a story of a man getting out of his car to follow screams of a woman for help in a forest. The distance of the screams stayed consistent and he eventually gave up. The next morning, police found a nody of a dead woman there. If you hear screams and cries or voices, do not follow it. It’s either a spirit or likely a skinwalker, if you believe in this. Either way, it’s not probably not wise to stick around and find out.

About the last game (elevated dread), it is absolutely genius that they trained you to not want to go into the apartments (after you do it once and get jumpscared by scary shadow man) and then FORCE you to do it right after. That part was so unsettling and in a way got me more than any of the jumpscares (And the added touch of making you think for a moment that you might be able to choose not to go in.. Well done)

when Jack filled up the fuel can and said "is this free??" my thoughts exactly, this dream world suddenly looking kinda appealing

I think Jack chose the "correct" order of paths to follow; I would've gone down the empty pathway and unless the game sent me back to follow the footsteps I'd have heard her say not to follow the footsteps in a dream and that would not exactly fill me with joy to think on taking the footstepped path.

@@itsaadi111 That poem is supposed to be read sarcastically by the way Both roads look the same It's just that people like to convince themselves they made the correct choice and changed their life forever but that's way too simple The choices of other people and the circumstances you're in (that you often have no control over) often make a bigger difference than whatever choice you made To work with the poems analogy, it's possible (even likely) that both roads led to the same place

I don’t know if anybody noticed but at 51:50 the scream/noise made from the massive baby face is a similar one to that made by the “womb ripper” in the game bloodwash when your near the end of the game when you get the hand gun and have shoot the killer.

10:16 I literally had to stifle a laugh He literally was just going over this, but didn’t even acknowledge it, which just made it funnier. The fact that this character literally just stood in front of this person, looked at the vending machine and then said aloud « it’s a vending machine: it requires coins » and then left 😂 I imagine that lady being like « wha-I don’t know if you were saying that to yourself or to me and I don’t think it really matter because it’s weird either way! »

For Feet In The Snow, I found the art style really good. I liked how the game looked and how it was about dreams. But Elevated Dread really was top-notch; it genuinely scared me. I Can See You has potential.

I think it’s better, because he’s no longer uploading twice daily or even daily. As much as I’ve loved his content for nearly six years now, there were times when you could tell he was uploading whatever he could find- regardless of whether he was enjoying himself or not- because he was so afraid people would leave his Channel if he didn’t upload two videos a day, seven days a week. Seán has reached a point in his career where he knows he no longer has to prep himself into oblivion and the majority of his audience understands that he has a life outside of KZread. That knowledge can, and often does, lead to more creativity. During Thankmas 2022, Seán let the cat out of the bag regarding his next I.R.I.S. Project with Security Booth creator Kyle Harwood and I’m super excited to see what they come up with!

i remember this....i remember the cabin, all of it. i remember the start of happy wheels, everything he's done, all of that he's worked for. Sometimes, we have to look back. I'm gonna be honest, i hate horror, like legit despise it, however, watching his videos helps me to still experience the plots and adventures all while helping me remain calm cause of the commentary. I honestly just discovered this channel a couple weeks ago, but i think this has easily become one of my favorite channels on which to learn about video games. I truly appreciate these videos!

The third game was by far the scariest one. The jumpscare at the end really got me. I literally was on my phone and I immediately took off my headphones and got so scared from it. Have a great rest of your day Jack!👍🏻

That last one was so good that I had goosebumps the entire time, and I don't normally scare easily

49:04 I don’t think anyone mentioned this but that weird thing playing on the TV in the third game is actually a real commercial. It was for Kleenex. And people say it’s cursed! Like if you watch it you’ll die. And everyone in that cast/crew of that commercial died a couple of days later. So if you know that there’s just an extra layer of creep to it.

Nothing better to sit down and relax than watching Sean be scared to death for an hour

The first had me going with the first part. It's extraordinarily elaborate while remaining simple; the first tells a story as you progress and try dissecting the environment. It rewards those that take apart the world they're in and provide a surprise for those patient enough. The third chooses to take you on a singular rollercoaster which is genuinely great, and still provides a thrilling experience to those wanting a more on-rails experience. Congratulations to both of those developers for putting out such great ideas. This is what's needed in the individual developer scene -- whether it’s horror or not

Like how the character got such a good work ethic, that he wants to finish the job even while being chased by a monster.

When Jack said "I can see you" I instinctively held up my shark plushie so he could see

It's so cool that Jack is still making such awesome funny content even to this day

Truly feel like Jack is killing it rn. He seems to truly enjoy most of the stuff he's posting and allowing his guilty pleasures to spill over and influence his gameplay. Like he seems really satisfied with his content.

There's something about point and click horror that hits different. Even though it's not as intricate, the story telling, visuals and sounds really make it spooky. The endings really tied the story together. Nice game!

Sean should really get in the habit of wearing a heart-rate monitor when he plays horror games. I can't imagine it was lower than 100 BPM after that last scare.

That last (ingame) scare REALLY got me. Had my hands up to fight and everything

"Dont look behind you..." Sir, i am literally lying down.

The jumpscare when Sean walks out of the room in the second game, got me so good that the piece of chocolate I was eating accidentally got thrown across my living room. Thank god for the 5 second rule.

Man that last game was great! Towards the end where it had a hiding place that you don’t even end up using, such a good idea to keep the tension held super high. Awesome concept for a game and super well done.

I love how scared Sean gets. That's literally how I play scary games :D that's why I just watch most of them being played by someone else :D

The thing is, I absolutely agree with you about the game. Yet, despite that, I've tried to watch playthroughs of it three times. Three. Times. And every single time I've fallen asleep somewhere half-way through. I don't know how. It's good youtubers as well, entertaining playthroughs. But out like a light. ＼（〇_ｏ）／

This video came out when my cat was diagnosed with a terminal heart disease. I have a hard time watching it but it’s a bitter sweet since he would always watch ur videos with me. I miss him.

Unrelated to the video, but I swear, this man is my comfort creator. My parents are fighting as of current, like they do every damn day, and he makes it easy to block out. I respect him for this. :)

God I love Jack’s choice in games to play. It’s like getting all cozy for an hour of pure joy

This was SUCH a good 3SG. The first was really captured the surreal unnerving feeling that makes your brain work overtime to fill in the environment. That last one though freaked me the HELL out. The hallways changing with nothing in them sent everything in my body to flight mode. Just a whole 'nope get out get out get out'.
