I’m gonna write in english because I really want thank this community and really, the spanish speaking population in general because so far, everybody I’ve met in Spain (¡Andalucía! and the Mexicans and Peruvians I met in Hungary were SO NICE and patient when I tried to speak spanish in person for the first time. ❤ THE PODCASTS on this channel ARE SOO USEFUL. A year ago it was too hard for me because I just started but now I can follow Pau & José’s conversations on the most quotidian topics ever 😂 with spanish subtitles. I think they are SUPER useful because they speak so naturally and in full sentences and you learn some common interjections (?) in casual speak like “déjame decirte”, “Mira vos”, “por así decirlos” and spanish reactions like “¡Guau!” that help you sound like a native lol. Listening to Spanish music is also a godsend because no mierda they use the most common words and phrases over and over again that you can’t possibly forget how to express your heartbreak even if your lover breaks your heart for another person and leave you and you be a cat crying in the rain 🤣🤣🤣🤣

@meededdahbi8268 u don't need friends to help you with it. Of course it would help but most people don't have that luxury. I don't, but I know that if I stick to it I'll get to the point that I can start to venture out and talk to people in Spanish. That day will come, I just have to wait for it. So do you. It's so worth it. Even now I can understand 70% of what they're saying in this video which was only a dream a few months ago.

Something similar happened to me in English. It was so hard at the begining, and I still make mistakes, but practicing with americans and australians have helped me to improve My English skills. I've lived the same situation when I learned Germán, french, italian, and jewysh spanish (which is a spanish variation). I've found and known very Nice people who helped me a lot to learn. I'm living this again but now trying to learn hebrews. So Jeep on learning: never say never if u love learning a new language.

It’s a natural feeling that all have as a beginner, but in truth, Spanish is super easy to learn and to understand, it’s almost as easy as English / Dutch / Norwegian etc, and I am actually native speaker level in Spanish, having learnt it in childhood in a 100% passive way, by watching a lot of movies and TV series in Spanish and by listening to a lot of songs and memorizing the lyrics, so I can understand pretty much everything in videos and movies etc, even without looking at the subs, as I know the actual words, and luckily I already have an automatic Spanish mode, so I can automatically say things without having to think about it or translate into English etc, tho it’s a very interesting topic, and sometimes I do feel like I cannot form full sentences in languages that I don’t know well, such as Breton and Danish etc, and it’s usually like that when one is a beginner, but it does get easier and easier, the more thousands of words one learns and the more one sees and hears the words and sentences, the easier it becomes, and it takes a lot of éxpòsure to the language to develop an automatic mode, so about one year ago when I started learning languages on my own, I started learning many languages, to save years and to make language learning more interesting, as there are over 50 languages on my list of languages I want to learn and improve - however, I am still trying to learn more extra words in Spanish as well, such as rare words / verbs etc that aren’t used a lot and more technical terms and also the regional / dialect terms from every Spanish-speaking region, as some words are different, depending on the region, plus I want to learn the actual spelling of most words, like, when a word has an accent or not and things like that, because I didn’t get to see a lot of written Spanish in childhood, so I learnt it mostly by hearing spoken Spanish, and videos such as these that have subs are really helpful as I get to see how the words are spellt, and I usually learn two or three new words from every video, tho in certain videos there are no new words, so it also depends on the topic, I guess, as there are some words associated with certain topics that I haven’t heard before, and I am learning many languages, including Old Norse / Gothic / Norwegian / Icelandic / Danish / Faroese / German / Swedish / Welsh / Breton / Cornish / Manx / Irish / Scottish Gaelic / Hungarian / Slovene / Gallo / French / Galician / Portuguese / Esperanto / Italian and other Italic languages and many other languages, while also trying to improve the languages that I already know well such as Spanish and Dutch...

I’ve also been thinking about suggesting some videos ideas and topics, for example, videos about very advanced vocab and rarely used verbs as well as videos on many different idioms and regional words etc - for example, there are verbs and nouns that I don’t know how to say in any other language, except English, including verbs that aren’t usually used a lot, such as to squirm / to wring / to squelch / to writhe / to dwindle / to huddle / to spurn / to fumble / to squeeze / to flit / to shear / to tweak / to whet / to trod / to nudge / to prod / to limp / to doddle / to whisk / to throng / to apricate / to fiddle / to bask (basking in the Sun) etc, or, nouns such as hilt (the hilt of a sword) and brisk / hut / gleaming / thicket / sylph / twirl / zephyr / gully / dale / glen / strait / tureen / apricity / raiment / anvil etc, there are actually so many words that I only know in English, including this type of less used words like descriptive verbs and all sorts of poetic terms and technical terms...

I absolutely love this video. The conversation was the most in depth and insightful I've seen on this issue. It validated for me so many of the thoughts that hold me back as a learner, the feelings that go along with those little awkward experiences we have interacting with people and in groups as we're learning. Great insight on finding ourselves in the language. It went beyond the typical advice on how to calm the nerves, lighten the mood and open up conversations. Thank you for making this one.

Excelente video, como siempre. Es más fácil decirlo que hacerlo, pero trata de relajarte cuando hablas tu idioma extranjero. Vas a cometer errores, y esto es natural. No se puede evitarlos sí aprendes un idioma. Me gusta el consejo de hablar con gente quien está en la "misma página" como tú. Es decir- habla con personas que también están aprendiendo el idioma, para que no te sientas tan vulnerable y que no te des tanta vergüenza si cometes un error. Gracias por un video muy útil!

Thank you for your tips and advice. I have been learning Spanish since year and it's very helpful. But I didn't want to do the same mistakes in my English so I'm starting speaking from scratch in Spanish. Is not easy because my first problem is lack a lot of words, phrases. The second was not speaking - but grammar structures. For me is doesn't mater if I speak correctly or not - I think that it comes naturaly some day. I sheer enjoy when I remembered each new Spanish word because it is important for me at this moment. I can't feel more confident when I don't know how to say something on diffrent language. By the way I learn languages by myself.
