When you're loved but don't believe it (Sasha Alex Sloan)

A recurring theme I see in my interviews is the struggle people face to feel whole and at peace within themselves amidst external pressures and the presence or absence of validation. Doesn't matter who you are, if you don't have a strong internal anchor within yourself, you will be swayed back and forth by life.
On a lighter note, Sasha's music is quite lovely. Check her out here: / sadgirlsloan

    There's this thing with humans,we walk around not believing we are enough. I was adopted, but I've always walked around like I need to show people that am enough and I can do it by myself. Didn't realize this until my mum (adopted) told me. Working on it, but once you live with a certain "condition" or mindset, you just can't shed it overnight.

    yes, there is no meaning. So you can do anything you want. Face your fears head on. Lose things, go ugly into public. You will notice its all in your head. Only your head can give meaning to things. And your mind will have all those fears unless you face them. Go girl, i believe in you. Accept those fears, accept your thoughts, but see they are not reality.

    OMG yes! I always lived life knowing there is no meaning except for that which we create or accept for ourselves. People think it's sad to not believe in an inherent purpose, but I find it quite liberating to be able to dictate what is purposeful from moment to moment. 🩵

    BOOM! That last line hit her core. A nihilist who lives in fear and doesn't want to lose her life because she loves it so much. Interesting. If you cling to your life, you will lose it; but if you give up your life for me, you will find it. - Matthew 10:39

    We intellectualise our healing because we live in a society where intellect is valued over feeling. I have found that by feeling the emotions from my traumatised past as a child has been the only thing that has helped me with my confidence, self love and most importantly happiness. As everything, emotions are energy. And energy get stuck within us when we are little especially because we're taught by our parents to stop our crying and so we don't feel these lower frequency emotions, thus they get stuck in our bodies. These low frequency emotions are what the feelings of lack of self worth, self love, anxiety etc are attached to. Once those low frequency emotions are felt and move through the body and energetic field they can be truly processed and integrated. It's a feeling of rising above and seeing the full picture from a different perspective. I can see how certain behavioural and thought loops related to specific experiences as a child but this time I could choose not to give into those behavioural and thought loops because they released with the emotions that was processed.

    Idk… I feel like people are more tied to how they *feel* in their heart, rather than thinking with their brain. People say “love is love.” Or “ think with your heart.” All the time now, and I feel like that’s a picture of how people are only applying how they *feel* in life, and not thinking much at all. However, that doesn’t make feeling a bad thing at all, however if that’s all you listen too it can rule your life

Elohim… Yes, everything in this world is vanity but Yeshua (Jesus Christ) came to die to save you from sin & wasting eternity with vain things. When you have FAITH in the Lord, you gain new purpose and direction. Doing his work is never in vain. Blessings 🕊️

    @croissantaholic6581Ай бұрын

    I admire her honesty and vulnerability! And she's absolutely right to feel anxious, sad, fearful and feel like there is no meaning to anything if there is no God who created us and loves us. The only way to have true peace, joy and hope is to know God and trust Him and follow Him. The only way to true life is through the cross of Jesus Christ. We are called to take up our cross and follow Him. That means that we are called to lay down our lives just as He laid down His life for us. If we spend our lives seeking happiness and validation in anything other than Christ, we will be lost. Everything else will pass away. ("Heaven and earth will pass away but My words will not pass away." -Jesus in Matthew 24:35. That Bible verse he paraphrased in this video is exactly right. Matthew 10:39, Jesus is speaking to His disciples and says, "If you cling to your life, you will lose it; but if you give up your life for me, you will find it." The verse right before it is about taking up your cross. "If you refuse to take up your cross and follow me, you are not worthy of being mine." Yikes. Strong words! It's too bad more professing Christians don't actually live like that. Maybe the world would take more notice and take us more seriously if we were truly laying down our lives in love for Christ and for others. I will pray for her heart to be softened and open to the Holy Spirit drawing her to Himself.

    "...we can know God a little through love, not our love for Him but His love for us. Through all that we lack, we can know something of what God gives; through all that we are not, we can know something of what God is; and the most and surest that we can know about ourselves is that we are that which God wills, we are that which God loves....Although God lacks nothing and cannot need us, it is His will and His choice to want us, to want us to be the answer to His love. He who needs nothing wills to have us be the objects of His love, the creation of His love. God created us to want us, God created us to love us." - Caryll Houseland, from her book "Guilt"

    Great you have found a resolve to ignite you and get you moving forwards. One thing I’ll say is that although it sounds like you have done a lot work on self-worth and respecting yourself by placing yourself above others and competing you are still trying to prove that you are enough. I only say this because I have been there and path you are on will only work for so long. The only way out is to love yourself for who you are as you are right now and to realise that we are all equals. If any ever puts you down they are also trying to prove to themselves that they are enough. They are you. Life is much more fulfilling living for others than trying to compete

God intended everyone to be fit-healthy (not a gym rat but just, healthy-fit). Proven that the brain functions with more clarity if not a fatty. This translates into life and all relationships as well. This is one's only hope ever: See Romans 10:9-13 and 1 Cor.15:3,4 and Psalm 22:16 & Isaiah chpt.53 (even in the Jewish bible).
