I always felt this game gave one of the best "skill up" curves I have ever played. You go from derping along at the beginning running in terror from every little mech to this absiolute super soldier at just the right pace through the game. You never feel grossly over or under-powered until you earn it/learn it and it gets really satisfying. Such a great game.

Couldn’t agree more. And the game just keeps giving. Frost is almost OP in some respects. Nothing like the challenge of taking something down with just you spear or FW your spear and Resonator Blast. That effect is so much fun.

I definitely agree that you never feel truly underpowered because near the beginning of the game i was traveling in the desert and ended up finding a thunder jaw and after gaining my courage fought and killed it 2nd try

I killed a corrupted one in less then 20 seconds,I had the power bow with 4 attachments all having epic damage parts and had the strong arrows equipped also using triple attack on its weak spots,it did well over 4000 damage actually

I love that concept of this game probably came up as some stoned nerd saying at a party: "Dude, imagine how cool it would be if there was a game where you would fight super high tech robots that look like animals and dinosaurs with just a bow and spear. " and it tunrned out such a legend.

I have played way too much of this game it's unreal. I just love running round the world and killing all sorts of machines. Its just amazing. I've played it so much that my brother has asked me to watch him play so I can help him. I cannot over estimate the amount that I love this game

I've been gaming since the late 80s and HZD is hands down the best game ever made. People might play it now and it might feel a little dated but boy when that game came out 5 years ago I had never experience anything like it the story was fantastic learning alone the way why humans are in tribal community's and why there's metal dinosaurs

HZD is the best gane ever made judging by the writting the story the plot and tge year it came out and the hardware limitations of last-gen hardware. HFW was a massive let down lore story wise the answered questions from the first game were cheap an easy answer and not much thought given to the story ark. Using the blood Odyssey crew and they are over 1000 years old with done magic unaging medicine was like wtf! Are they being serious. The Odyssey left year with basic technology and were only as advanced from humans from 2050’s. That out come is the cheapest writting to a brilliant game. Ye the combat was imporoved and the graphics if that’s your thing play another game. Horizon is deep story driven open world game that took dozens of hours to unlock the story. I played this day 1 in 2017 nobody knew anything about the story and it was a very unique experience in 3 decades of gaming learing about the story of Horizon.

Horizon is a deep story driven open world game and it takes dozens of hours of gams play to find out what happened to the old ones “us” our extinction and the project Zero Dawn where the brightest humanity had to offer worked out the rest of theor lives to build a AI and buildinf colodrons deep underground so an AI that will out live them can break the farrow war machines codes. They estimated it could take many yeara and by then the earth biosphere would be barren and dead. So Gaia the AI and all her sub functions had their own roles in remaking the earth biosphere theough these metal animals and there a reason you find in game why gaia choose dinosaurs. The game starts in HZD as a signal was sent to activate a fail safe to wipe the earth clean again as the makers knew gaia is too compassionate to do it but the signal was sent Maliciously and gaia through many tried this waa the last chance to restart life so she clone Aloy which is actually Elizabeth Sobek the maker of ZD project and the maker of the AI gaia. And there a massive reason why humans are primitive living in tribal communities and gone back to worshiping thing like the sun and so on.

@@JinxTheCat_plays TL;DR: While the gameplay is important, the game has a strong focus towards gathering the story through exploration. And slowly piecing together what happened before the apocalypse is incredibly satisfying and also terrifying.

Love the precision! ZD makes Aloy more powerful compared to how she performs in FW; without careful planning of elemental arrows to use, you'll feel the nerf they did to Aloy's base damage, combined with limited dodges and triple notching on a cooldown, well, it's a more balanced Aloy, sure, but the power fantasy is no longer there.

I love how the Fireclaw doesn't attack at all. My experience with Fireclaws from 4 playthroughs was that you didn't ever get much breathing room with how aggressively they attack. Of course, that was in the first Horizon game.

I think you should try the game on the difficulty you are already on right now, When you meet the bosses without the proper training, weapons, and knowlage, you might have hard time cracking every fight, and you might get worn out, very hard is hard enough for first playthrough believe me, on 2nd playthrough go all in and play on Ultra Hard, you'll get less weapons and the economy is more rough, but you'll enjoy the challenge with the more knowledge that you aquired. The game is amazing when it opens up (you're really close to that section). Focus on the Story, it is super good! My whole channel is *Spoiler Free*, you can always come back and learn new combat techniques, I do many modded challenges you will never exprience on the vanilla game, so don't worry if you see me fight with 25 Thunderjaws or against all the machines in the game at the same time.. anyways, enjoy the beautiful game, enjoy the story, and feel free to come back anytime 🏹🦾❤️

When I first saw this game I thought it was boring because what's the sense of fighting robots with bows and spears. But then, I got intrigued with the story and I became an instant fan of horizon. I've finished the Zero Dawn on pc and was hoping to play forbidden west in the pc too it was fantastic journey of 81hrs of save game.

@@Nachtmare you can't be serious, zero dawn also had a ton of sci fi, i understand that forbidden west went over the top with all the sci fi thing, but it makes sense if you understand the ending of zero dawn, the only thing i didn't like about forbidden west in terms of story progression, was the whole world getting "sick" other than that, the ending was pretty cool, the whole super futuristic people was not surprise if you understood the ending of zero dawn (and the other project)

@@Nachtmare i mean the twist that the second project actually worked and they traveled to a new world was fucking fascinating to me, the humans trying to live forever is not new tho, it's been like a dream for humanity from thousands of years (there are even creatures in real life that work this way that scientist have research), and can understand why you didn't like the whole ai transcendece thing, but you have to dig into the lore of the game, since it was part of the plan for preservation, maybe i see the point you make, i think it would have been cool if this whole futuristic humans living thousands of years making a hyper inteligent sentient ai creature have been separated in two games or maybe just chill out with too much information LOL, no wonder why the movie odyssey 2001 was so controversial

this is one of the games id like to forget and experience again :)

sawtooth in zero dawn can be taken down by lighting them on fire twice in very hard. (Haven't tried ultra hard myself). Don't try and fight them with arrows, just light them on fire however is fastest (i use a triple fire coiled fire bow i have just for fire arrows) and run around hiding from them or trying to light other sawtooths on fire while you wait for it to wear off... then reapply once and it is gone. I use a nora stealth outfit maxed out with stealth weaves and duck behind trees... machines forget about you REALLY fast.

Clips like this are the reason I started playing this game again

The armory would be: -Level 3 ranged master -Utaru gravesinger outfit -Wings of the ten burst dodge blast sling -The last forge boltblaster rattler -Tears of the Land-God hunter bow -Powershot bow -Overriden machines: 1 slaughterspine: The hard-hitter of the squad, 1 tracker burrower: The smartest and most tactical one, 1 trampler: Can easily knock the Apex thunderjaw down, 1 bristleback: Can easily ram through it and has the most effective elemental attacks, 1 clawstrider: Very aggressive and can tear off most of the thunderjaw's armour, 1 scorcher: The most aggressive and is the most quick on its feet.

For these types of clips (WR and such) I use very optimized weapons for the machines I'm dealing with. in your next vid, can you show your gear/coils? im mainly interested on whether you focused on damage or handling or if you balanced them. ive been wanting to run tests also to find the average dps of certain builds. like one of the things i wanna know is, would a striker bow with more focus on handling have higher dps than a striker bow with max damage. in most games, higher fire rate usually means higher dps while higher max damage have lower dps but, of course, higher max damage would kill faster if only 1 or 2 hits are needed. ive been grinding for shards to buy multiple weapons for multiple builds and also collecting the unique coils. im close to maxing out damage of a striker bow, then ill buy another to max out handling, so i can use one or the other depending on the situation. the powershot bow just takes too much time to power up for my comfort, and I still have yet to make a handling-focused powershot bow maybe you already know?

You can see my Loadouts on my YT Shorts, I do different builds for each Boss (also I've reworked some of them for this clips since). I'm pretty sure Striker bow has higher DPS against small to medium machines, but the burst damage with Powershot is perfect on bosses with really fragile weak spots like Thunderjaw & Rockbreaker. I'm saying that because when you freeze an enemy it get stunned for a few seconds.. and you need to put all your damage in those seconds, if you miss the window, you might need to focus on better positioning and basically lose all your DPS doing so..

Amazing kills. On the second battle (with the thunder jaw), it looks like you have 3 arrows loaded on the hunter bow for two consecutive shots without reloading. How did you do that? Do you use two hunter bows? (Sorry if I got the name of the bow wrong, it’s been awhile).

@@matty7106 Nice, keep your bows reloaded at all times, you'll have much easier times dealing with the machines, Aloy is a powerhouse! About the game on PC, the game actually looks much better then base PS4, as you can tell with my clips. If your niece have an okay graphics card she will have a blast in this beautiful game world.

Iv'e GOT TO SAY? After picking this game up for the very first time? Yea, its really amazing to play. after reading all the commentaries?... THEY ARE ALL RITE!!! On point. I struggled so much with the two frostclaws. That icicle attack is too OP.

This is what it looks like when something is mastered, wish I could have done this crazy stuff on the Forbidden West, unfortunately still don't have access to the game yet (PC player).

Forbidden West may have had its let downs but both games had a really slow, satisfying crawl towards achieving god level. I still remember the moment I realized I wasn't deathly afraid of slaughterspines anymore lol also the bombs and bows are so much more broken in hzd i love it. I remember taking down the final deathbringer boss in 10 seconds with just sticky grenades

Fully upgraded, Powershot is #1 best. #2 will be Forgefire

Truly enjoyed this game. Gameplay was awesome and tactical, steal was a bit weird since I feel like some kind of scanner would be essential for them, but I guess tall grass trumps that. And the back story, freaking loved exploring and realizing what had happend

Knowing the weak points certainly helps :) amazin kills I love this game

This game is basically just “oh, you’re resistant to freeze? No you’re not!”

Xbox has been my console of choice since the original Xbox (I do like all gaming, I'm no fanboy..lol) but this is the game that made me buy a playstation 4 pro. This game is stunning.

Absolutely, I enjoy this game on PC and was thinking many times to get a PS5 just for HFW, Horizon Zero Dawn is #1 game for me these days!

I aspire to be you! And so far so good! Finished the combat tree and working on the Machine one. Although I take longer to kill things because I like removing certain parts for resources.

I wonder what crazy combinations of weapons Aloy can pull off in Forbidden West... I didn't touch that beautiful game yet. PC Olayer here.

My mind just went "i had no idea that was even possible"

Is crazy how Aloy now loss stamina just by loading 2 additional arrows into the bow. Makes you think if Forbidden West was really an upgrade to the gameplay.

Well, I reload every bow before my encounter with any machine so I think everyone should do it on HFW too, especially because that loss of stamina... But implemention of Stamina for Aloy sound like a bad choice to go for from the developers anyway, considering this is an RPG game and it doesn't need that to begin with, HZD was amazing without it. Look at the challenges I'm setting up on my channel, "Aloy vs All Corrupted Machines simultaneously" could not be made with stamina bar interrupting me from dodging or reloading my bows mid combat for sure..

it was an upgrade in basically every way. Stamina is not a bad thing at all. the multi arrow hardly uses any anyways.

I am so passionate about the horizon series and i am just all in all absolutely grateful that i got to experience both of them, the scenery, the battling, the story, the two games are just perfect, time to platinum both of them and play on hard mode 😁😁

Definitely after a replay, doing the Frozen Wild expansion makes hunting and killing the Fireclaws extra fun. They fall down and go boom nicely :P

does hitting the eyes do bonus damage? never realized that

Yes, Eyes are a collective Weak spot for every machine in the game, I was kinda surprised many people didn't realize that before I started uploading my vids. Now you know 🏹🦾

@@MrAR_Gaming last time I played, shooting them in the eye didn't do so much damage. It felt the same as the other parts from thr machine which is why I stopped bothering shooting their eyes....either way I'm not that great at this game. My most recent ganeplays will show.

@@1ofHenrysMen the difference is mostly big when you triple notch high damage bow, instead of 1575 damage to a Frozen body, you'll get 2100 damage to the Eyes, as you can tell this things stacks, where you could kill a Fireclaw in 6 shots, instead of 8-9 triple notched shots... (With maxed out bow)

Skill is required but your gear and skill tree are also a must for such plays (I mean go to DLC and they have the most OP bows and spirals there). Anyway, GJ, good video. Edit: I miss rockbreakers while playing the second part. They were kinda easy but still interesting to fight against.

I've played through the story before, but now I'm revisiting it....been playing through the frozen wilds portion of it. I'm still playing on normal mode...I just don't know how to set up my mods on the weapons to kill as fast as you...if you don't mind me asking how you have yours set up? I'm currently using the banuk weapons...

Hell that is impressive! Whenever I play HZD I opt for stealth, there is no way my fingers could works as fast as yours!

I encourage you to try messing with the speeds how much you want, if you find any inaccuracy, I would love to see it 😂 I'll even make a video on your findings if you'd like, whatever results you get👍 Most of the clips here needed 100-300 runs to get perfect 🏹🦾 On this channel most of my videos are rehearsed plenty of times before calling it, that's what I'm known for, making HZD combat videos. Totally me, after play this game with high level, thunderjaw is piece of cake, not fast in this video but faster than my past record.

Some arrow of the sharp shooter bow 🏹 is pretty great with thunder jaws because they are all detachable parts pretty much. I think it was the tear arrows doing three times the damage as the hunter bow's hard tip arrows.

Powershot Bow - Precision Arrows 🏹 On the normal variation of the Thunderjaw you don't need to use Tearblast arrows at all, You'll only need Tearblast arrows on the Daemonic variation to get the canisters bellow the belly. Just curious, some of those machine were out of place. deathbringer in the sun ring. I don't remember that from the nomral play through. Scourcher and frost claws seems to be outside their nroaml enviroment too.

Yes I used mods to spawn machines to unique locations to shout out my HZD combo guide kzread.info/dash/bejne/hGGk1JVpcqzFZJc.html The Deathbringer in the sunfall is an afterthought for the video but turned out super Cinematic fight so I had to include it and make it the mascot of the video :) Everything in on UH difficulty, damage is legit, all weapons are maxed out :)
