The ending discussion with the board on screen was an amazing touch. Please do that for every game. I loved how Fabi saw that Kc2 was the best move after Rook takes on A2 and the king would run. This is also the best thing ive learnt about chess at the highest level, how the players cant let go of the game after it ends and still analyze together right after it ends and help each other improve their game. It's true sportsmanship. I don't think any other sport has this level of sportmanship where players of opposite sides point out each others mistakes and good plays after the games are over.

It's really sad to see Vidit devastated after every round... It seems as if he is being too hard on himself... Ig hikaru said it yesterday and past winners as well... That when u r one game down the only thing you can do is be calm and wait for opportunities.. Like the one fabi gave him.... All in all the no increment time control seems to be the biggest issue for vd... Hope he can comeback with some wins

one noticable thing about vidit is..that he is always winning in the game everytime but 1 blunder he does that ruins the game and that blunder always come in time pressure...so vidit should play basic moves fast to manage time later....vidit's only problem for now is time management...everytime he is doing blunders when he is running out of time

It's hard though. If he spends less time on moves in the beginning, he wouldn't have the advantage that we saw him get here. He definitely needs to get better at time management but it's a hard balance.

In the Candidates for some time now there is only one " boss" and his nsme is Nepo 😊 WIth all my respect for Fabi incredible level of chess i think that even the Magnus would have troubles getting this particular tournament from Nepo if he was part of ot it. Not saying that winner is clear already but the Russian is the guy to beat here world rankings and ELO regardless.
