I feel like almost every time you’ve done this it’s never been a 6 or 7 letter word
In 4, Machine, Jammers, Amused, Amuse
I got it in 4 today too. Machine, poultry, gamut, _amuse. I like using a two word 14 letter start then a shorter word as my third guess.

Likewise - my starters are different but they use most of the same letters. It's a pretty reliable strategy to get it in 4.
Excellent solve. Same score for me in about a minute: STAINER-BAYOUS.-.ABUSE.?-.AMUSE. . --It would have been amusing to have my penultimate guess be an answer to two separate word games today. But I should have seen it was impossible.
Alright, the yellow space was surprising, but can’t you just do a 4 letter word and three blanks to figure out the word length? Each gray space would means it’s one more letter long, no?

Yeah, that would work for determining the word length, but of course, you're not checking very many different letters then either.
