When playing against a Trains deck, and I get ready to summon Steam Train King, I often like to say (to myself), “ I like to play with trains too… BUT MINE’S BIGGER!!!” 😂

Steam Train King makes me laugh as all the other Superheavy Samurai are warriors & weapons trained & made for battle whereas Steam Train King just says “Frick it! I’m just gonna run them over”

Superheavy Samurais are so cool. Being able to attack while in defense mode is the most unique mechanic in the game imo. I'll always respect them.

I played a lot of YGO when it first came out, but kinda dropped off for a long while when 5Ds came out. Picked it up again for Duel Links, but again became kinda disheartened due to poor deck making skills and no real ability to buy cards. When I got back into Duel Links, I opened up the Arc-V world, and thought that Gong Strong was more of a joke character and whatnot… but then I found the Superheavy Samurai cards he uses, and it reminded me of one of my favourite cards from back in the day… Total Defence Shogun. I’ve always loved the mechanic of attacking in DEF mode, so the S.Samurais were an instant click for me, and I’ve been playing with them ever since. Definitely need the rest of their cards to come to Duel Links though lol

As a Duel Links player, I’m hoping for more S.Sam support to arrive sooner rather than later.

Even before the support cards, this was my favorite archetype to run

Gong Strong is getting the support he deserves, and I hope the same for Yuzu soon

The number of times I’ve had people pull out lv8 or 10 monsters, and I just Battleball them to get out Susanowo or STK… it’s very satisfying indeed. Like, Thanks for the fodder! :D

This variation of the Super-Heavy-Strong-Dueling style was amazing to watch. Superheavy samurais are just criminally underrated.

Not anymore. It's one of the new meta now thanks to pendulum support. Sadly people just used it for full of boss monster negate board instead of pure samurai.

With Superheavy Samurais, Defense OTK takes on a whole new meaning.

That was a very clean victory from the manly Gongenzaka

Superheavy's have always been a fan fav of mine. Glad to see more content of it.

This deck has a lot of broken card effects, probably because they new they would fail to make a good archtype that can't run spells and traps effectively without those effects. Its also a deck nobody expects someone to play.

It's like watching a shounen character get taken out by a keijo move

That zoroborous play was certainly strange

Well, that was an interesting duel

FINALLY… a duel I can keep up with and understand without looking up cards! As a Superheavy Samurai player, this makes me happy to see 😊

Wasting 2 disruptions to get rid of soulpiercer... when doing so will only trigger its search effect anyways is just... wow. Then of course not going for avramax or even unicorn & instead summoning zeroboros AFTER the other player is done summoning they're boss monsters.

Would Avramax have worked? It's effect lets it gain it's opponents ATK. Train King would have still run it over

@@felinaotsu3161 u make a very good point. Yes. Steam king would still run it over but atleast the opponent might still have a chance to live through 1 turn by using avra's bounce.

He could unicorn using three card with lowest attack and he would live with really low hp but its enough Also the better thing to put soulhorn for the situation is the lvl 10 but it was really obvious that the oppenet dont know what to do so doing this is not bad GG Edit something forgot to say you want to put soul horn on the lvl 10 insted mainly cause if he got rid of train by unicorn it will be able to otk and he wont live what the opponent should do is wait for end of mp1 to activate it (and if he have white woman then that will wofk too)

Even if he summoned Avramax, he'd still be dead. Avramax effect increases ATK equal to opponent's ATK, not equal to DEF.

@@Atem Well one thing for granted: They still lose to Avramax normally, HOWEVER they manage to beat him thanks to handtraps (buster gauntlet and literally any soul that grants DEF). There was this one situation I've had from a ROBLOX Yu-Gi-Oh! game, I've had Musashi (300 ATK 2300 DEF) and Stealth Ninja (2800 DEF) and my opponent had Avramax (3000 ATK). I declared attack on Avramax, and by its effect, ATK went to 3300. I then activated Helper from hand to increase Musashi defense by Stealth Ninja (5100) and Avramax ATK still being 3300, so bada bing bada boom here you have it, a way to defeat avramax by battle. Can also do this by equipping Soulshield Wall to either Musashi or Shutendoji (or any samurai that is allowed to attack by Big Benkei, heck, EVEN Blue Brawler, a level 4 monster can defeat Avramax with just Soulshield Wall + Benkei effect). other samurais have way higher ATK.

So, Soulbuster Gauntlet (the last card used in this vid) allows you to discard it to double your SHS’s def during a damage step as it battles… So, would it count as a literal Hand Trap? 😂

BATTLE BALL, the coolest damn thing ever, Superheavy Samurai Battle Ball is just hilarious, Kaiju their monster for whatever you want, its disgusting tbh and I love it

Battleball has to be the GOAT of the deck. It lets you take any monster with a level on your opponent’s field, send it and BB to the graveyard/s (note, “send”, not “destroy”), and use their original levels (BB is 2*) to get out any appropriately levelled Superheavy Samurai synchro monster. As said, you can use Kaijus to add a levelled monster to the opponent’s field if they only have XYZ/Link/Pendulum monsters in play (that last one is an important thing to note, as Pendulums don’t go to the graveyard, thus you would lose the effect of BB). It really is a disgusting effect, but VERY fun to pull off. Your opponent can bring out some big boss, and you just gobble it up to bring out your own boss instead 😈
