I got delayed by 24hrs and it was not fun, I was with school and no one gave up. The organisation was terrible (from the airplane/airport not teachers) and 2 teachers stayed behind (in the other country) because the stress made them physically sick. So the 3 teachers left shepherded 50 student, checking bags in (even though we had queued up before the check in was open) took so long we ran through the airport and the teachers ran to the nearest cafe and bought 50 mini pizzas on the school credit card.

The plane & crew must probably fly anyway to cover it’s return flight. So he actually reduced the carbon foot print. I think taylor swift or someone rich probably has the biggest carbon footprint.

The flight crew definitely enjoyed the flight. They get paid, and dont have to do much work. It's a win for everyone except the airline.

I literally had that happen to me lol. I was one of literally 9 people on the plane, and they refused to let me sit in first class after 12-hour delay. I will say one of the most exciting flights of my life because we took off at like a 75 degree angle of attack because the plane was so light

@@Pedakinthey still have formalities to do. Like the demonstration. They still have to do their in flight duties. It’s just potentially much easier ie much less calls from passengers, less food to hand out if they do, etc. not dealing with the people is surely amazing and the increased interpersonal connection between them as well ie them sitting in the passenger seating. Not to say I don’t doubt they enjoyed it, but it’s still work and they still have stuff they’re required to do. Also some employees may not like it because maybe it makes the time pass slower and they’d have rather not had to have gone. Also they may still be paid a certain amount if the flight is cancelled

Happened to me once back in the 80s... Almost. I was on a flight to the mainland from Guam. It was my mom, my two little sisters, perhaps three other people and myself. The stretch from Hawaii to Frisco was packed to the gills, though. I remember the Captain coming back to tell my sisters and me to not go up and down the aisle so much because he could feel it in the cockpit. He kept having to adjust the trim more than usual. He thought it was amusing. That flight came to mind 20 years later when I was in flight school and found out how load shift effects flight characteristics. It's more pronounced in commercial airliners because of the proportionally longer and thinner fuselage. That's why flight crews prefer that you stay in your seat as much as possible, and a very big reason why you MUST stay seated during takeoff and landing - the most dangerous parts of any flight.

I got a semi last minute ticket once and the plane was pretty empty. I found an entire empty middle row. Best thing ever. Just lying down over 5 seats and sleeping through the flight (I can't really sleep sitting up unless I'm seriously tired and haven't slept for days) Best flight experience. Vietnam airlines. Good food, lounge access during layover, pretty empty plane for the second stretch Vietnam-Germany. And all of that for half the normally cheapest price for that trip. Back then the cheapest one way Hong kong- Germany tickets were 400 bucks, i booked a few days in advance and it was only 200. (The plane needed to be somewhere else on short notice, so it wasn't filled properly and they sold tickets for cheap to make back at least some of the money)

This happened to me during COVID. We were in Mexico when COVID really started taking on. Everyone else left early out of fear of the planes closing. We were one of the five people on one of the last planes out of Cancun before the airports closed.

I love how normal they are. It makes the video 100x better to see the flight crew in a different way

Whole crew still got paid, their time counts towards their next rest period (aircraft crewpersons are required to receive 10 hour uninterrupted rest periods, not even phone calls from work!) And got to joke around with the passenger because he's chill about it. Best flight ever.

had a couple flights when i traveled lots before some health issues like this and it a awesome experience to say the least especially when i can't afford a private plane

When I was young and there were a lot less airplanes. I used to get stuck on repositioning flights, it was all you can eat and pretty much all you could drink.

This dude is definitely charismatic as hell, the fact that he had all of them so comfortable with him to the point that they were making jokes like they were all old friends speaks to the quality of his character. I’m so quiet it def would have been awkward but everyone was so at ease around him despite giving speeches to a single passenger, seems like something that would be awkward but it wasn’t and he was a great sport

That must have been a great experience. As an introvert much like the other post above, I would have had to cancel my own ticket if I found out I was the only one of the flight. I'd never be able to deal with the flight crew all being there just for me.

The crew might of also felt like they were never gonna see the passenger again so why not have fun with it. That's how I view most of my interactions. Why feel upset over something when 10 minutes after I leave the chances of me seeing them again is almost impossible unless we make plans to meet up.

@@NASCARorbascarpeopleyeah but they pulled them from their hotel rooms they coulda just kicked back all night but instead had to work and check into a whole new hotel late at night… I’m actually surprised the airline honored the flight and didn’t say sorry too much expense for one person.
