I took my younger siblings to see this in theaters and right at the scene where Moses parts the sea my youngest brother spilled his drink all over me. Afterwards it was a family joke that he made the movie a 3D experience for me.

@Tamseel Ahmad I suppose it just doesnt make sense to me. Most religions are old and outdated as well as lost in translation. Many things contradict themselves and it makes me think of them as flawed and untrue.

Christianity matches whatever time period because it tell you about history then so on to teach you about Jesus life and his teachings which what Jesus teaches, is what true Christians follow. Also Greek is spot on for the New Testament In the Bible because the New Testament was written first in Greek so you shouldn’t have to worry about translation lost. And the best correct English language is the King James translation. That’s the accurate of the accurate in English.

I can tell you about Islam it just teaches you do good deed to get to Heaven that’s it. Which I didn’t really find that reliable because there’s no justice for any sort of crime. So if you do a crime no consequence. I was close to converting to Islam phew thank goodness I didn’t

same. Being told most of my life not only how weak hope is but that it doesn't make sense to trust in hope. Hope is a light in the darkness. Even the weakest hope gives us strength. However small, it is enough. This is actually the first time I felt vindicated or confirmed that I am not an idiot for holding onto a 'baseless' hope for a different future.

my oldest sibling called me childish and a simpleton for 'buying into the comforting lie' that there is a God and the world isn't completely hopeless. For me, Hope is frail, it's dim but it's there, it's eternal. And it doesn't need proof. it's just there, if we find it, if we fuel it. And I chose to hope. This song reminds me I'm not the only one who clings to hope despite the darkness.

Manuel Orozco though I must disagree with you, I will say that How To Train Your Dragon & the Kung Fu Panda movies are really amazing. But Prince of Egypt has to be the best because it handles the story of Moses very well and they took a great risk considering the fact that a lot of religions easily get offended by material like this and they made it work.

I just watched this for the first time the other night and when the little girl started singing in Hebrew I completely LOST it. Children shouldn't have to be subjected to the horrors this movie portrayed, but to see them come out of it with more hope and joy than ever was so powerful. And to do it in a way that's historically accurate and culturally sensitive? I'm not religious in any way, but I can appreciate a masterpiece when I see one. Bravo, Dreamworks. Bravo.

Listened to this around the 35th kilometre of a marathon. Couldn’t feel my feet at that point and my quads were in major pain - But this song really made me dig my heels in: when I started marathon training I honestly didnt believe that I’d make it. 40km seemed crazy. But here I was 5km away from the finish, and I realized my belief had brought me up to this point. One full year of running almost 1800 km in total, and throughout that time I slowly began to believe in myself, and have faith in the fact that if I left it all out on the race course then it wouldn’t matter how long it would take for me to finish. Probably one of the most tunnel-vision kinda moments of my life, but this song was a huge part of that moment

I am in a very dark place at the moment. Much of my believes are being shaken to their core after being exposed to so many "truths". It is funny, I never really expected this movie to stay with me like it has, but this song gives me hope. That there is a God who cares for me, that I am not alone, and that I will endure the dark times I am in. If there is anyone else out there who goes through the same, know that I am empathetic to your plight, but together with the help of our God we will endure it. I do my best to help others. Though it can hurt to see so many hurt themselves when they are capable of so much more. It gets hard to bear witness to the evil in this world, but it is even harder to not let it overcome you. Do not let it overcome you my friends. Do not allow your heart to harden. Let it be soft and gentle. Even if people will take and abuse it. Our God showed us that we cannot hope to live if we live only for ourselves. Live for each other, and love one another. Then maybe you will find that the world seems at least a little bit brighter than it was before.

To think that this happened for thousands of years and the people were stripped of their freedom... ASHIRA, ASHIRA, ASHIRA! This was my mom's most favorite song in the film and it was definitely the one song that she loved to sing along to the most, when I hear this song and sing along to it I can hear Jesus speak to me and remind me that there really are such things as miracles even in times of pain and suffering, my mom believed it growing up as a Christian and now so do I. I know that there are miracles even during this time of confronting the Corona virus because I believe they're there and Jesus will help us to find them as we continue to try to know where to look. I think of my mom every time I hear and sing this song, and I know and believe that she is here just like the miracles Jesus has waiting for us. This is for you mom, and especially you Jesus my Lord and Savior from now until the end of time! ASHIRA, ASHIRA, ASHIRA!!!!!😄😄😄😄😄❤❤❤❤❤😇😇😇😇😇💖💖💖💖💖😃😃😃😃😃💗💗💗💗💗

This was always, always my favorite song from this movie. ... To those that are moved by the beauty of this song -- it is the Holy Spirit, don't ignore it or turn away from it -- embrace it. Listen to it ... listen to it whisper and call out to you from the annals of the very real but distant path that beckons from this song, urging you to seek Him out. ... The Hebrew in this song, it praises the Father! "Ashira Adonai Ki ga'oh ga'ah." -- I will sing to the Lord for He has triumphed gloriously. "Michamocha ba'elim Adonai" - Who is like You, Oh Lord, among the celestial. "Mikamocha nedar bakodesh" - Who is like You, majestic in holiness. "Nachitah v'chas d'cha am zu galata" - In Your love, You lead the people you redeemed. "Ashira, ashira, ashira" - I will sing, I will sing, I will sing.

The cadence in this song is the deal! "There can be miracles when you belive. though hope is frail, it's hard to kill" chilly bumps every time.

I love this version SO much more than Mariah & Whitney’s (*not saying they’re bad*), as this kind of hymn-like melody and the themes explored are better expressed as purely as possible, without all the fancy riffs and runs. HOWEVER can anyone explain to me what’s up with the odd half-step at 2:37 (between ‘hard’ and ‘to’) that is not echoed by the 2nd singer?? Obviously it’s an intentional choice that made it through to release, but it seems super weird to me (esp since the 2nd singer then does the usual whole-step minor 3rd descent) and no one ever mentions it? Am I going crazy? Help

The problem with Mariah and Whitney is that they're not feeling the song. They're not actors who can put themselves in there. Also, the two divas spent the entire song just competing in skill, not performing it as best it deserved. Because much as I can't stand them, Houston and Carey are extremely skilled singers. I just think they're dull as dishwater.

Battling infertility, confirmed by doctors, I needed this reminder. Especially when the children sing in Hebrew.

I hope you're okay, wherever you are. May you stay safe and strong out there. May you take care of yourself, and others, as much as you can. I pray whatever happens to you, may you fight the Good Fight and keep the Faith. God Bless you. Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have Mercy upon us, sinners. (That's the "Jesus Prayer", you can look it up, if you want to).

this movie is nearly 25 years old why youtube insists on blocking the comments on a movie that has mostly nostalgic adults looking back on it , is beyond me
