I have Muslim friends who whisper "see you in a couple hours bro", when they see security coming down the line. Any sign of a Muslim name or a Muslim man with a beard and you're bound to experience this at least once in your life.

And why would that be I wonder? Here’s a clue, the answer isn’t racism. If it was it would happen just as much to Black Christians or Buddhist Japanese people.

@@chicotthejester9341 It's profiling, which is mostly race based. As you saw in the sketch they were happy to co-operate with the security guy (just like my Muslim friends are when they are pulled aside) BUT it is still a pain to be under suspicion for your name, the way you look, etc. and to have hours taken from your day to be grilled, when you're in holiday mode. If they want to make a joke about it and laugh about the situation, they can. I don't see why people are getting triggered.

Can confirm lol. Even better, the inspector who questioned me really want to deport me or something lmao, even asked irrelevant stuff on why I like Counter-Strike (I have wallpaper of it in phone) and why do I have a photo of my friend in an APC (it was a goofy Photoshop edit I don't know what he was so mad about). In the end they permitted me anyway, despite the sarcastic remarks I threw at that inspector. Well deserved anyway, who the bloody hell got mad over a Photoshop edit. The rest of the security personnels were cool, they're chill and friendly, definitely not ones that would get mad over funny edits that is.

During the troubles in Northern Ireland, as an Irish person, I never passed through English customs without being taken aside interrogated and completely searched, literally every time without fail. I asked why they are always searching me, they said guess, I asked is it because I'm Irish and they said yes, simple as that. At least they aren't allowed to shoot us anymore just for speaking our native language as they used to when they were trying to eradicate our language, traditions and cultural heritage back in the day.

I am a a Muslim convert. A year and a half prior to shahadah I started wearing hijab turban style and wearing dresses. It was the first time in my life being pulled over for a pat-down by TSA (not to mention I was military at the time and used my military ID as my form of identification with my ticket). The lady did a pat-down of my turban to see if there was anything in there. Two years ago, wearing a niqab as a Muslimah I went on a plane and this time I had my laptop screened for a bomb. Next month I will be traveling out of the US for the first time (as an adult) and I wear full black niqab, jilbab, and gloves. I am seriously looking up all the TSA loops and planning to arrive SUPER early for my flight just to ensure I make it on time. I have Muslim sisters who wear niqab and who have been pulled into a room for hours before, and even detained by ICE for a few days, despite being a US citizen.

This was hilarious! I'm a Muslim and I DON'T get checked because I 'look' very western in terms of my appearance and my name is Shah. I remember when I was in the queue with 3 of my Muslim friends and I was standing in the middle from them, they were all "randomly" selected for security check apart from me once the security checked our passports. After a minute I clocked that all of my 3 friends have the name 'Mohammed' (I know them by their other names) written on their passport and I don't.
