Women can prove themselves to govern/rule a country flawlessly, they have a potential to do so. A great example of this was the precolonial Philippines and southeast asia. 💪💪

As a Filipino who interacts with legitimate tribes of the woodland American region, the rule of women was actually quite strong. Nations like the Cherokee, Lenape, and Mohawk were matrilocal; husbands would leave their home to live with the wife and her family. With this practice these towns and villages were made up of women all from the same family, with the elder women leading these societies as “clan mothers”. While these societies were lead by chiefs, no chief ever made important decisions without getting counsel from the clan mothers. Clan membership was also traced through the mother as well as actual indigenous identity at times. Even the most important male in a young boy’s life wouldn’t be his father; it would be his maternal uncles, the people of the same clan as him. Even decisions like war or the fate of prisoners (adoption or execution), was something for the women to decide. Great video as always, Kirby!

Great video. Yes women rulers in South East Asia was common. India had also many women warriors. You are right, Patani means wife in sanskrit. Even during British colonialism indian Queens fight and beheaded some British rulers, it's factual recorded history. Rani chennama, Rani laxmi bai, Rani Abbaka are few prominent names among many. You have made great video, it connects our roots. It is time Philippines become independent and not in any ones mercy. Presant Philippines is going in right direction. Don't know what you're talking about, they rule just like men do. In fact, based on statistics, they waged even more war than male monarchs / rulers. Not to say they are more bloodthirsty, but this myth of women ruling being harmonious, peaceful and perfect is dated and assumes that they know better than us men on the grounds that they are the "fairer" sex. They have proven that they are just as capable of bloodshed as male rulers. Money and territory gain supersedes all.

Hi Sir. @KirbyAraullo I always admired your teachings here in your channel but, my question is about artwork, I'm an artist and read a lot of history documents because I love period clothings from prehispanic and hispanic period. But, there's An older artist that belittled my friend's artwork because it isn't a realistic, he said that it's inaccurate and misleading due to it's leaning towards in Digital anime style like yours though yours are chibi style then, the argument we had about the art post depicting a prehispanic attire that happened rendered in Anime style too but, not the chibi ones, then I mentioned you in the comment because, you're the example of the historian that I know who's using Anime style for his Artwork, the guy stated that you're his good friend of him then, he suddenly change his perspective but, though he pointed it out that we are wrong because, me and my friend's art style. Even if we based it on boxer codex and Pigafetta's written documents. So is it wrong to use the Anime art-style such as chibi or shounen like to promote it to the young generations our clothings?. Female rule was viewed as a way to establish peace and stability after a period of tyrannical male rule or a period of instability - Seems also true for modern day Philippine history. Most people viewed the Marcos regime as tyrannical male rule so the Filipino people turned to Cory. The aftermath the Asian financial crisis brought a period of instability so Gloria became president. Do people see the current administration as a tyrannical male rule or did pandemic bring too much instability? Maybe their answer to this will influence their vote.

If you are going to say that woman is capable to lead a country, it's not about the fender it's about if he or she can lead the country m there are not all men are capable to lead and not all woman is also capable it depends. We know but, let’s be real here, those societies had systems in place that made lone queens exceptions to the rule; a system that SEA didn’t have for far longer. Lone queens in Europe were a once-in-a-century experience for quite a long time while lone female datus in SEA was just an average Tuesday morning.

@@JustAStranger2840 Not quite, some of those are male titles (save for Queens and Sultana). Noblewomen / those belonging to the nobility had their own titles. That is: Hara (Queen or consort of a Rajah) Dayang (Court Lady or spouse of a Datu) Lakambini (Chief Consort) Binibini (Princess or Court Lady). So no, there are no female Lakans just like there are no male Dayang. Wrong. This video is part of a series celebrating Women's History Month. In fact, these were already planned and written since last year, last March 2021 to be exact, long before I knew who is gonna be running. I actually fell behind on releasing this series because I got sick last month. This series of Women's History videos were supposed to come out once or twice a week this month in tandem with the release of my new book I wrote about the precolonial women of Southeast Asia. But since I got sick, everything was pushed back and got delayed, including the release of the book.

It doesn't matter what the gender of the leader is as long as he/she has proven experience, concrete and tangible accomplishments and results, good character, good moral values, walks the talk not just talks the talk, compassionate to the needs of the people, great vision for the country and great plans for the country, I am for that person who will lead the country.

@@YtSab Paano naging good representation ng kababaihan si Leni? Daming boss. Iglesia Catolica, US, Oligarchs, may collab pa sa mga NPA. Hindi kami bulag. Nakita namin sa mga interviews nya gano sya ka walang paninindigan. Pabago bago yung stand sa NTF-Elcac para lang maplease kung sino mang mga poon nya. Ang bilis nya mag point out how evil Marcoses are pero kasama sa hanay niya sila DeLima, Binay, at Trillanes. Partida sa mga biased MSMs pa namin nakikita yang mga balitang yan.
