I.Ramamurthy It was great to meet the ferrocious ex fast bowlers of west Indies for the era between 1960 to 1974. Missing persons are Rohan Kanhai and Gary Sobers. I am 76 years I had an opportunity to saw the bowling of wes Hall, Chrlie Griffith, and Malcom Marshall and Andy Roberts at chennai during 1974-1975 where Farookh Engineer scored century against Hall and Griffith. India was able to win the test match but Sobers and Griffith have saved west indies from the jaws of defeat and both these players have frusted indian bowlers. It was an excellent test match. Still I remember the test match. I did not remember whether it is 1967-1968 series or 1974-1975. Anyway I had an opportunity to see the ferrous fast bowling of wes Hall the great bowlers of 1960-1970 decade. West indies were really great Sportsmen spirit. Jai Hind

I have had the distinct pleasure of meeting the great man when he and the entire West Indies team visited National College, Bengaluru in January 1967. When one of his rude teammates (no names) threw away a garland offered by a fellow girl student, Hall picked up the garland and handed it back to the girl and bent down, all 6 feet plus towering figure of his, with much courtesy, to receive the garland! A gentle giant, indeed..
