I honestly think Imagine Breaker is a very well written powerhouse. Even though it was created 20 years ago, it is much more detailed than many of the "nullification" powers we see today. Most follow the superficiality of: "hahaha, I nullified your power" while Imagine Breaker is much more than that. The way it is applied makes the fights even. I mean, IB only lowers Touma's opponents to his own level, if the opponent is superior to Touma in terms of experience, physique and battle IQ, the opponent can already beat him. In addition to IB having its weaknesses, it is up to Touma himself to use his brain to get around them. But the coolest thing is that IB is not just a cool power in a story full of other cool powers, it has its importance within the story. The fact that it revolves around cosmology being a point of reference for the universe, the fact that it contrasts with the 2 Esper/Magic system of powers that requires imagining, believing, creating the illusion that the powers or beliefs exist in order to function. In other words, Imagine Breaker = Break of the imagination and that's why Touma's greatest phrase is: "I'm going to destroy your shitty illusion" and the fact that IB serves as a scale that balances both sides makes it very interesting. narrative point of view as too.

What it is is abstract (or unknown yet), though you can understand it as "the wish of magicians to return to the original world". And trust me, read the light novel, anime sucks and the manga removed 1 of the most important Arc completely, along with OT2 the peak, heavily butchered plots and ss3. See, the world of Index have it's cosmology built on many different real life mythology and concepts, such as Kabbalah. I won't explain further as spoilers, big spoilers, so I'll just simplify it as this: Imagine breaker is the power to reach the original world, the "pure world", or no, it's the power of that world itself, any anomalies will be nullified and return to it's original state, nothingness, the "Pure form" of it, which is nothingness, if it goes against the law of "pure world", take our world as a reference.

Imagine Breaker is insane. It is the reference point of reality itself, and it binds many powers within itself. In some crossover events, it was showcased that Touma can negate anything that goes beyond 'physical laws' of certain universe. It even protects from complete erasure of the universe. Not to mention that Touma often uses it in creative ways, because even though he is not all that academically smart, he has great battle intelligence. Oh, and IB grants him one of the biggest harems in anime

By that logic, death perception would be king since it injects death into natural and supernatural forces. In their respective universes, anti-magic is the most versatile and powerful. You're just way too strong and fast to have to worry about instakills and you don't need to lose an arm to reach your peak or suffer debilitating side-effects from mystic eyes. Your game-plan doesn't rely on running up to a ranged damage dealer and praying they don't have a natural weapon like a gun or arrow-though some abilities have precog or can destroy projectiles. Imagine Breaker is the strongest at deleting abilities, but in a fight, anti-magic is just too much since it physically amps you up to speeds faster than anything the others could react to. And no longer human, the only ability that could defend itself by contact would still get your head crushed by the weight of the anti-magic user's blow.

Imagine breaker the goat has a better negating ability then asta 1100%

With this, we are one step closer to death powers

Well, technically the Mystic eyes of Death Perception are Conceptual Death Powers. It can only nullify abilities because it KILLS the concept of that ability(if pierced the Death Point, otherwise it just nullify it). It can kill even immortal beings by killing the concept of their immortality.

For the battle scenario, if Touma's Entities are taken into account, when Void Shiki should be also, and it's kinda game other for everybody else. But for the pure abilities "nullification" without any other character powers I agree with result

Q: In the other Type-Moon works, who else besides Arc can fight against Servants? A: If we're working on the condition of one on one, with an extremely average Noble Phantasm. Generally most of the 27 Ancestors, Kishima Kouma, Aozaki Aoko. If it's just a defensive fight, but would still be a fight, then Ciel. @@banjo1919 There is prolem with that powerscalling due compatibility issues though. Irc Ancestors beat servants (because anti human history and stuff), Servants beats Shikis and Shikis beats Ancestors (under right conditions). Can't quote, but pretty sure that's the case. That's why Void being able even fight servants is big deal.

The thing with Imagine Breaker is that because it is the reference point for the toaru pure world, it works just as good on powers from other series as it does in its own series. It doesn't care if the power is considered natural in whatever universe that power is from, as long as it isn't considered natural in the Toaru world it will be negated by imagine breaker. No longer Human only works on Abilities specifically from Bungou Stray Dogs and Anti-Magic specifically only works on magic (and depending on magic system, likely only against magic from the Black Clover universe), so if they were used against any abilities from another series they are effectively useless in their negating capacity. The other abilities all likely only work in their own world due to the natural laws and composition of their worlds, but Imagine Breaker is fundamental and doesn't care about any of that, it imposes its own laws on the world it exists in, allowing it to work on anything considered unnatural by the standards of the Pure World. I do agree though, in the sense of a battle between the 4 though, Asta would win just because it's just because he's a super jacked, physically enhanced midget against 2 average people with effectively no ability and a guy with a knife that's too slow to react. The only way I see anyone else winning would be be if Touma and Shiki teamed up to take town Asta, having Touma negate his Anti-Magic to diminish his physical enhancement while Shiki goes for the kill.

@@joshuapatterson8269 Touma precognition is still in the realm of human capabilites, as anyone can predict anything given enough time and experience. But reacting and moving out of the way is two different things. Like Rimuru's Mind Accelerate skill. He can potentially see and predict the attack, but dodging in time? Nah, not possible. Touma maybe can react to Misaka's railgun, which goes up to mach 3, but just barely. He won against Accelerator 3 times due to either plot armor or Accelerator ceding him the W. Asta on the other hand, is a jacked superhuman. He is already physically strong, and adding the fact that anti-magic is basically a buff and debuff at the same time? Touma would be mush before he can throw his catchphrase-infused punch. The only scenario where Touma wins is when Asta cut his arms earlier before he cut Touma's body. The eldritch being that is the Invisible Thing would proceeds to demolish any and everything on it's warpath.

You know I kinda agree on your opinion, but its valid only when we exclude external elements. Shiki Ryougi has 3 personalities, Shiki, SHIKI, Ryougi Shiki. One is the feminine personality, one is the masculine personality, while the last one is a literal god connected to the Root. The last one, because its omnipotent and omniscient, is generally bored and always take a step back and watch eveything happen. Touma on the other hand, bears a name that can be interpreted as Kamijou no Touma. Oriana Thomson(a minor antagonist turned ally) spoke about Fiamma of the Right's plan to be the The One Above God(or Kamijou no Tou in Japanese). Kanzaki Kaori initially interpreted Touma's name to The One Who Purifies God and Slays Demons. Magic Gods had longed for Touma to purify them and to satisfy their endless lust for fighting. Even Anna Sprengel wishes for Touma to outdo as she was bored of capable doing almost anything she puts her mind into. We haven't even mentioned what else is the IB's other properties and the multiple eldritch entities inside him other than the Invisible Thing.

Touma won in the first fight against Accelerator because of his expierence, battle iq, quick thinking, reflexes, stronger body, imagine breaker, precognition and endurance. While Accelerator lost because he completly lacked those things (well exept for quick thinking but his thinking was greatly affected by him being punched. To explain being punched was something that Accelerator never expierenced before and after getting punched for the first time he didnt know what to do.) along his completly weak body and arrogant personality. In the 2nd fight between them too Accelerator lost because Touma has gained more expierence, battle iq and have improved his precognition. While Accelerator lost because he was driven by anger/despair. Alrought Accelerator was still sane to do complex calculation, he was still driven by emotions which caused him to have worse calculation, thinking. He also still had weak body and lacked expierence. In their 3rd fight Accelerator could win but he holded back since this time he didnt want to kill Touma and also Touma had extreme boost in precognition, expierence and battle iq (because of his battles with Othinus that he had in NT9) + one might say that Touma cheated in this fight because he used rock so the force would be stronger. Anyway read Toaru light novel, dont wach the anime.

@@studiobatmancraft8771 I do read the novel, and I know how each of the fight goes. The first two being plot armor is valid cuz Accelerator isn's taking the fight seriously. In the railgun adaptation, it's mentioned that before getting punched, Accel only sees Touma as fodder. After the punch, Accel ego was crumpled and he throws a tantrum, making him predictable. In the third, Accel deliberately came first snd made it seem he lost so Academy City would be reluctant to send more manpower as Touma won against the literal strongest guy

I think that touma should not be second in terms of how easy it is to use. since if i am not wrong the novel mentions during his second fight with accelerator that if its any other person who uses imagine breaker they would likely fail to use it to its maximum potential and honestly that make sense due to how many times touma has to fight his way out of supernatural opponents to the point that he can use it more effectively then anyone. So any average joe will likely fail to do what touma can if they got IB.

Interesting to see that the other nullification abilities are just instant nullification. Where as Anti magic requires leveling up. That probably explains why so many people think anti magic is an instant win ability too. I often hear people think anti magic just nullifies magic and then Asta wins with his strength. Obviously these people have never watched or read Black Clover. But makes sense why they'd think this. But nah Asta had to put in the work. Power didn't come easy.

@@BUR404 The only thing Touma would win against Asta in fist fight is skills, his precognition is pretty much busted when fighting opponents like Asta. Though I doubt he can do anything, unless Asta somehow went crazy and cut his arm, then Touma will proceed to destroy every opponent here.

asta demon dweller sword absorbs the magic targeting him or can borrow it from people he has a connection with its shown that even though the elf leader did not have a connection with him he was still able to absorb his attack and sent it back

i have no idea why dazai was even on this, he has nowhere near the feats of anyone in that video, if anything hes mostly a normal human being with that ability, what makes him special is the insane intelligence, manpulation and prediction capabilites he has, being able to predict the entire state of a city and outsmart another guy who took down the mafia and the detective agency at the same time (one of the members detective agency literally is "omniscient", to be more specific, hes able to deduce any information or moves made by the enemy and with pretty much ease). but i doubt he can do much against someone whos able to beat a literal god.

@@albanthedemonking1076 dazai isnt really able to dodge bullets or lasers or anything of that sorts, he was able to get shot and sniped multiple times throughout the anime, and in times where he got shot at but never got hit, thats not him dodging because in the machine gun scene, he was clearly standing still (the enemies have shitty aim basically), dazai is a normal human with super intelligences thats able to even out the field by negating other abilites, which even then his close combat is certainly lacking as you could see in multiple eposides.

There are just some parts that are a bit incorrect on Touma's part and im just gonna point out, so sorry if this sounds like a "uH AcTUaLly 🤓" comment. 1. Othinus didn't just destroy *a* phase but every phase that's not the pure world, this was stated in NT13. Also othinus only used IB once when she brought back touma's world and just overwrote over each phase(i know this isn't about touma but still wanted to point it out😅) 2. Touma fought against tsuchimkado a second time and won, and even though he was injured the novel states he was still moving at his regular speed, meaning that he can keep up with people who are more skilled in a fight, just doesn't because kamachi tries to keep him grounded for the most part 😅 3. Touma has also reacted to othinus crossbow attack which is both an instant and infinite attack. 4. Toumas durability and endurance is also insane since he had a 10 minute conversation with othinus while he was missing his lower half and left arm. He also was still alive after being hit with coronzons flaming sword attack. 5. I mentioned this before and so have other's but touma doesn't need to cut off his right arm to summon the demon zoo, this is shown at the end of NT13 and when aleister told misaki to make touma's mind think he still had his right hand so nothing wouldn't come out, it's toumas mental state that keeps them inside and his deadset on being normal. I'm not upset of the result but i also heavily disagree with it but i respect your opinion 🙏.

Besides Dazai there is no scenario where touma is beating any of these characters. He might have survived the flaming sword but he almost died from it. His survival can be attributed more to imagine breakers potency of nerfing the attack then his human durability. Plus surviving attacks that almost kill him after isn’t something we should attribute to durability but luck Plus, theres no instance in the light novel where the entities come out of his hand to help without it being cut off first so it’s not gonna happen in this fight. We can bring up mindset but as long as he hasn’t demonstrated the ability to do this in the novel we cant say he can do it in this fight. His mindset is what keeps them from coming out when his arm is cut off, I don’t think he can just control them like Geto controls curses Plus again. Tsuchimkado cant be compared to Asta or Shiki in skill or power.

If I did, I would just be overly wanking him for no reason other than because I wanted to see him win. I like the series and ive been consuming it since 2012 but I know what he’s capable of and I’m only going to account for what the character can reasonably do in a scenario not hypotheticals. tsuchimakado is strong. I mean he’s a literal martial artist but Shiki is a demon hunter who from birth was trained to be a merciless killer. He fought and kept up with Roa and He snuck up and struck the death line of arcruied which took her out. Shes quite literally one of the strongest characters in the verse and she was shocked by his skill. Tsuchimakado’s skills mean nothing. Plus, I don’t think we should even argue about Touma beating Asta. Touma is pretty strong but in no scenario is he beating either character and they significantly scale above Tsuchimakdo and most martial artists Touma has fought. Especially since he’s doing this on his own.

@@existentialchar Nah, the IB is canon plot armor man, in the sense that Touma is hard to kill because dying can be counted as lucky for him, so being the most unfotunate guy he will be kept alive to increase his suffering. And because he never had any luck, he never relied on it and go thru everything only with pure skill. Also the enities is not inside the IB, its inside Touma himself. IB was always attracted to Touma cuz the entities are a broken, balance breaking exploit. IB acts as a seal to keep the entities in check, where Touma uses the offshoot of the sealing power to fight against supernatural enemies. So if Touma dies, the entities either die with him or find another host

Yeah i think the big problem here is that even if you take away Asta's anti magic Hes still just superhuman to a degree beyond all these other characters, hes just a tank and would put hands on the rest of these guys and probably even blitz them Literally dont see what Touma could do about Asta strangling him or punching him in the face really hard, hes a regular dude compared to Asta Its like The Hulk having a brawl with someone whos metahuman level

He survived the fall of a floating fortress, managed to run and fight even after being shot, he was burned alive and didn't die immediately, he faced/escaped several characters in a row while facing the cold of Denmark and carrying a girl. The guy didn't have time to rest, right after leaving "hell" he had to fight/run away from Accelerator, Misaka, Kanzaki, Clarissa, Accqua, Misha, Agness and the entire Vietnam church, Robots from the city academy, Birdway, Brunhild , Thor ... all in a single day . And Touma still has the Dragon Shell that makes his body even more resistant and his 17 dragons whose powers range from fire, lightning to psychic attacks, turning anything into salt or being as resistant as the planet itself.

True in a sense considering Acqua of the Rear did just beat him up without using Magic in Season 3 when they met on thr bridge. Touma also had a hard time fighting Kanzaki in Season 1 because there is still physicality in their fight. As long as no magic or powers are involved, Touma has a chance to lose because his trump card is useless against anything unsupernatural to the world.

I love how Imagine Breaker isn't even Touma's actual power and yet so many think it is because the only way a person would know is by reading the light novels (or apparently by playing the gacha game, I guess).

The only one capable of brushing off her Mental Out are espers with another mental ability, rank #1, #2, and #3 level 5s, Anna Sprengel, and the goat TouMAN himself. Its not that her mental fortitude is weak, she's just surrounded by absurdly powerful people

That first statement about nullifier abilities being looked down upon, that resonates with me, I actually loathe anti-magic in general as I find it usually a cheap way to make someone look overpowered or to have easy way of bypassing abilities you wrote too strong, the only 2 examples where I can stomach it to a degree is Toaru where Imagine Breaker is probably the most interesting secret in lore and in JJK where it is Angels technique so it is one-time thing and does not feature too often

I can understand where your coming from but as someone who’s been a big fan of Black Clover, Anti-Magic and Asta are used pretty well in the story and fights. It only really started getting OP in the last two arcs but that was after years of build up

​@@BUR404 Fr, another thing people forget is that Anti Magic negate's the magic but not the force of the attack, for example, in the beginning of the series Asta would've died against Magna's fireball spell if he cut it in half because the force would've carried over. Anti magic also needs to scale to the magic it's going up against, so how I see anti magic is that you're like a water mage and everyone else is a fire magic. Anti magic also only became OP after he masters ki, (which isn't something only he can do, if other magic users mastered Ki they'd be busted.

And you're forgetting that in BC everyone with magical power naturally has enhanced stats due it their innate mana (since it's literally energy) so yeah Magna's fireball was "high-tier" for Asta in the beginning of the series considering he was already a magic knight.

I think I know a kind of superpower that may surpass that of regular nullification and reality anchoring abilities. It is a power that roots in the cosmological in it's functions and capacity. These powers are called Absolute manipulation. Even if the user is a impotent person given it they would practically be able manipulate the state of almost any kind of force or function within their cosmology's designs as long as it is within their given power's authority and dominion to do so. Now that sounds like a pretty interesting mighty power indeed. Unless those nullification and reality anchoring powers are indeed Absolute themselves.

@@atharkhaizuran9195 There is so many characters that I try to keep track of with so many tiers of power like Rimuru, Anos Voldigoad, Wang Ling, and dozens of others that it can be quite difficult to keep track of. On superpower wiki alone I find literal hundreds of those types. I have no clue how potentially powerful this girl is or what her limitations of her abilities peak extend to.

Yo it would be interesting to see a video about the "calm forces", basically characters that are too timid and calm and are super strong. The best 3 to make a video of is Deku (MHA), Allen Walker (D. gray man) and Tsuna from Katekyo Hitman Reborn. Edit: forgot Yoh from Shaman King, the most calm and chill guy to ever exist.

Not anymore. While Dragon King Touma is unstoppable for a limited time, he can decimate in seconds.

You're not wrong here but I would argue Black Clover's anti-magic is just... very convenient magic. At least once it started providing massive physical power enhancement and near FTL movement to the user. At a certain point it's become like saying One Piece's Blackbeard or Bleach's Yhwach are power negators, which isn't wrong but it's kinda misleading.

I know this video was 2 months ago, But I just want to point out that in the most recent Index Volume, GT9, Touma had his Right Hand removed so he could pull out his power beyond the right, Because he had no other choice, While Assta is strong this recent Chapter shows that if Touma's chips are down he will remove his own hand, and so as such none of them are going to defeat him if he does so, Also you forgot to mention Touma's St. Germain Magic Diamond Shields.

Asta is actually ftl. He blitzed a character who was dodging light spells in base.

I think Anti-Magic is not the reason why Asta wins the battle. It's simply because Asta is (physically) vastly stronger than the other characters in this vid. He can blitz all of them before they can even activate whatever ability they have.

Wasn't all of Shiki's physical abilities buffed when he became a vampire in the ciel route

Question if Asta scales relative to yami whos dimension slash cut someones dream realm which was a universe would his strongest slash also be uni cause there was another video which had credible points to prove it

Lol stop Fcking wanking Shirou never defeated Saber Alter it was Rider who was fighting Shirou only used Rho Aias to shield Rider and when Saber Alter was down he killed her, and Unlimited Blade Works is the perfect counter for Gate Of Babylon so why are you bringing this and Shirou only won cause Gilgamesh was arrogant. So yeah Shiki doesn't scale to any of them.

So what I gathered here is Asta > Duo Shiki > Touma > Dazai, right? Leaving aside Asta, Shiki and Touma fights without any power, I think Shiki will still win. It is like the fight between Superhuman and normal human, their physical spec gap is too large. It is as easy as an adult boxer kicking down a toddler.

as much as Touma is one of my favorite characters in fiction and I think the imagine breaker as a power is really eliquently made negating the anti magic off the demon slayer isn't ganna help him when half a ton of iron is being swung at him

Idea: remiru vs anos vs gilgamesh

I wonder how the Nasuverse's abilities, skills, and magic system would fair against this character I found from a series called Fortissimo. The character known as Odin has some pretty potent hax abilities including law manipulation, space, power, and eternity. Pretty much the four forces of his cosmology called Absolutes though I am unsure how they scale as they are shown they too can be negated. Odin himself despite wielding these immense cosmic warping powers is still a impotent being and the laws he creates can effect him and his laws can be overuled by a more powerful law. So he can be overcome but it takes great effort. However make no mistake Fortissimo's Odin is no pushover from what I am reading. He has alot varies abilities which are similar to both Othinus and Archetype Earth and the scale he utilize and expand them from his skill and range can vary from planetary to even galaxy level and incredible intelligence to boot. According to what I am reading as I am not familiar with the Fortissimo series and know very little knowledge of it. I think Fortissimo's Odin is quite a powerhouse for a cosmology with atleast galaxy tier powers. If were in Fate he would likely be major threat to Archetype Earth and the Types on a great scale. A grand duel of law manipulation vs law manipulation.

...I can't believe you didn't take Void Shiki into consideration. She is much, much more powerful than anything antimagic can do. While both can affect concepts to a degree, Death Perception is much better at it, able to remake the laws of physics and magic on a whim. In fact i'm not sure anti-magic DOES affects concept. It allows to resist time-stopping magic, but that's because that's magic, it doesn't affect the actual concept of time, whereas death perception can cut actual abstract concepts like future, wether it is magical or not. It's also pure speculation that an antimagic user could get universal scale, whereas void shiki is confirmed to be multiversal. So Yeah Void Shiki demolishes Asta

I think that theoreticallly MEODP have the highest cap, being multiversal(cuz their powered by the root) instead of universal like all the other abilities. Also void shiki has them and void shiki is basically like a multiversal god because she protects the root. i just thought of this. wouldnt the MEODP also have the highest cap because its power scales on the users power and knowledge. if your stronger you can see mor epoints and on stronger things

I just watched the power section and I haven't watched the battle section, but my prediction is that Asta is gonna win because death perception and Imagine breaker have perception abilities if you've watched rock lee vs Sasuke you know it won't mean much in the face of a big enough difference in stats. At that point the No longer Human guy could probably negate asta's swords and stuff on contact but due to asta honing his body I think Asta can win with just hands. Touma would stand much more of a chance because the imagine breaker cant be permanently destroyed and cuts touma off from the red string of fate and thats not even mentioning the creatures beyond the right hand like the dragons and the orbs and whatever else is loked behind tge hand. Although this things dont give him a win outright and would simply make him way more of a threat to asta as well as imagine breaker nullifing the death lines and death points for touma, this would make it so they had to outskill him, which is very possible but I dont think it would be an easy fight. Besides touma can react to instintanious attacks so i dont think asta would be able to hit him easily.

What do you think of Touma vs Giorno?

Don't need to, I'm here to explain, if you don't mind at least a little spoiler that is. Imagine Breaker, born from the will of the Magic Gods. It's the power to return the anomalies of the world to it's "pure form", meaning returning to the state that isn't in contrast with the Pure world, the world where mythology and stuff doesn't exist. In index, the cosmology is quite like how the Kabbalah described it, or should I say it's identical. The imagine breaker being the ultimate weapon to "fix" the world that was tainted by many layers of metaphysical realms forming it's physical form in the physical world, according to the people's will for it to exists (it was said there are as many phases as there are religions, the will of people brought it from the world above to add a layer of concepts on their world, or something like that, it's a headache, I might make mistake). So any power system, Imagine breaker can nullify if it's went against the "Pure world", IB have it's limitation cause it's only a vessel, well inside the vessel are more powerful cosmic beings to do the job when someone removes the vessel (his right arm). You could use real life world as a reference to the "Pure world" too. It's quite a headache, so you could go read the LN if you want to know how strong is IB currently is.

@@Super_Elio_Rose1310 IB can negate mana, which is made out of life force, but cannot negate life force(as a handshake from Touma never killed anyone). IB being an anomaly undo button can only affect unnatural supernatural phenomenon, but not naturally occuring ones. The planet has ley lines (basically the planet's blood vessels run by mana) yet its still alive when touma touch the ground. So its possible to negate chi and chakra, but nen maybe immune because of its mysterious nature. I am not familiar with the inner workings of haki so you deduce it yourself
