Dude. Hats off to you! They used to say that great art was when the artist figured out how to portray an individual experience as a universal feeling, making the beholder feel what you felt when you did it. And in that sense, you are a great artist. I did write a long ass post but deleted it by mistake and I just can’t type it all again, one had to be there, you know. But I missed you, yes I did I really did wonder if youtube had unsubbed me or somethin, and this video shows why you were missed. So clever, so witty, so profound! Glad you’re back but also the quality of this video is insane! I never got bored and your videos are so different from every other channel I watch and again I’m glad you’re back because I didn’t realize how much I missed this channel until I watched this video! Also yeah all the stuff you’ve said about LEGO is quite true and the procrastination stuff hit pretty close to home. Good job!

Great to see you back Josh! As a mid 30’s guy myself, i’ve got the same feeling over and over, there is so much cool Lego to collect, the adult focused line spoiled us a lot these days. At the end, it just comes down to having fun and building what you really want, while you keep the wife happy… 😅

So happy you are back! Really missed you and your vids. Was just checking some of your old vids this morning. I had to change my mindset a little bit but in the end I'm happy Lego is making so much to choose from. I don't need to own it all. Trying to keep up, as well as owning so much, made me unhappy and nervous. Besides worrying about where to put it all. I also found out smaller well designed sets make me more happy than the really big sets they push out which are often a compromised design to still keep the price reasonable. With a few exceptions of course.

For most of us, yes, Lego is a hobby. Although there are other Lego KZreadrs where Lego is both their hobby and career, which can be a difficult way to make a living in the long run.

The Lego king is back!

This is a cleverly edited video with the transitions and video splicing. All your potshots at Star Wars fans were entertaining. Like you I also prefer vintage and classic LEGO

The editing is awesome

I have a small storage unit that I keep full of sealed sets. If I need to store more, I sell off sealed sets from the unit and never allow myself to go over. This does means that I sometimes have to part with stuff I want, but there has to be limits. The profits from sale cover the storage unit easily and I get the added benefit of not having any lego boxes at home. Also, by having such a space limitation, it also means certain sets can't make it to my wanted listed because, no matter how much I want it, whatever I have sealed away I want more. Eventually, the storage unit will be depleted as I use the stored sets for their intended purpose.... PRESENTS. That's right, about 80% of the occupied space is meant to be given away. Now as much as it sounds like I have the hobby "under control," I don't. Some times I will buy a set before it retires because I am still undecided about how much I want it, and therefore is kept at home until I decide if the newly retired set should be sold off or something from storage should be sold off. And in the case, there is a LEGO invasion in my home that can occur. Sometimes, a price climbs so high so fast on a set, that I cannot justify holding on to it. Example, the Castle in the Forest set. If that resell price hits $500, it may have to go. $600? It's gone FOR SURE.
