    Hermit crabs are so smart, i drop some waffers in they are le 2 ft away and start coming, amazing sense of smell

    My 135g has one conch snail 4 hermets a diamond goby and a tang as the clean up crew and am very happy with the results

    That cleanup crew per gallon was always a sales pitch to get ppl to buy a crap load of CUC. I had 15 snails(of different kind) in a 40 gallon and they kept it clean

    I think that played a part. 25yrs ago we had constant algae issues so maybe some of the mindset came from that but yeah, stores are always trying to get people to do stuff that isnt needed
