You are a true professional. So in tune with the aircraft, a beautiful thing to watch. It doesn't surprise me that you were able to run the emergency checklist and resolve the problem so quickly.

@@emylrmm wait a second are you saying that our aviation influencer is a CFI as well? How come I didn’t know that until now
I listened to the gear issue on VAS Aviation. I don't think your heart rate increased. Glad all worked out! !! !!!
Many of us heard about the landing gear on VAS aviation Steveo & so awesome that your calm & decisive skills, unmistakable voice, impressive demeanor, flight training & the pursuit of excellence got you down successfully. You are an awesome example to pilots everywhere, may you have continued successes & keep on being awesome!. As for the landing gear switch, what can we do as even a moth got stuck in a relay from an old computer system managed by Admiral Grace Hopper which came to be known & is still known to this very day as a "bug"

I was shocked to see Steveo on VAS aviation but relieved when it all worked out. Thanks for this video! I hope VAS links to this because it's a great explanation and something that we (non-pilots) rarely see.
Thanks so much for your support on our Bob Dylan remix :)

Heard the event on the VAS Aviation channel. Glad it all worked out ok. Way to stay in control of the aircraft. A true pro!
Very interesting hearing about the landing gear malfunction and how you handled it. Calm and collected and got the TBM down safely. Happy to see the problem was resolved and this landing was uneventful.

Sharing stories like this along with the mechanical side is always so helpful for pilots to hear. Smoooth operator as always. Thanks Steveo!
Wow! Great job on keeping your cool and resolving this issue! Glad to hear everything went well for you on the emergency landing...
Love how big the windsock is at Pompano Beach! All kidding aside, its crazy how such a small sensor can cause more than one failure. Glad you figured it out safely.
As an Aviation Electrician Mate in the Navy I have changed those switches out in naval aircraft since we are a little harder on our landings. I’m glad you’re ok. God bless you and those who fly with you brother I enjoy your channel.
Smashed that like button. Awesome debrief on the emergency procedures.
Actually heard your radio transmission on VASAviation's youtube channel several weeks ago. Recognized your voice right away and was like, Uh Oh!!!!! Glad everything went like it did.
Wow! That would have had my heart pumping. I'm glad it turned out OK.
Great job! That’s why you keep yourself proficient! Training is crucial. You never know. Always be ready! ✈️✨

Nice job thanks for explaining what you went through and how it worked. Glad you were able to get the gear down and land safely
It's always a simple part gumming up the works in aviation. Great job as always SteveO and showing us why checklist knowledge and readiness should always be in the back of our minds!
Thank you for the debrief on the gear failure. Great to learn what went wrong and why it went wrong and how you were able to fix it so quickly. The scenery in this video was also great. Cheers from Newcastle Australia.
Excellent as always. Nice to emphasize that it’s not always routine. Recurrent training is a must on all planes.
Always neat to see the different procedures for stuff like a gear failure etc. Glad to hear you were able to get it fixed. Safe skies my fellow aviator
beautiful views of south FL and learning about the gear malfunction, checklist procedure. Appreciate seeing how you handled it.
Awesome work, steveo. You did exactly what you should've and what you were trained for. Couldn't have done it better!
I guess if you fly long enough, something like this happens. Well done Steve and I'm glad you're safe and everything worked out!

I agree. Law of averages as they say. I worked 40 years for one the big commercial airlines and flew all over the world on business and vacation and was involved in 3 emergency landings - including one on a Tristar where the nose gear failed to deploy. One of the tech crew came back into the front cabin to open a hatch in the floor so he could get down and hand pump it down. Took a lot longer than the TBM but we landed safely, also after a low pass over the tower to check it was down. These situations make you appreciate the skill and professionalim of the guys up front.
Nice work Steveo! Thanks for sharing another great video!!
Glad you safely resolved your landing gear issue, it’s a testament to your professionalism and calmness that prevailed 👍🙂

Great Job Steveo, certainly lots of air traffic there into your arrival keeping you busy. As always continue to have safe flights and the time of your life.
That sucks! Glad you got down safe and they was able to address the problem and get it fixed!
Outstanding job, Steveo! 👍🏻
Training pays off. Thanks for sharing ur experience with us. Safe flights bro.
I heard that on the scanner here in Clearwater. You acted very well under pressure. I think you gave a master's class to all the students at that airport. You can always tell the nube's because all the flight school planes have blue tails. You can hear the audio on the VAS aviation channel.
I love how all those Freighters are being held at sea so the powers that be can maintain the illusion that there are shortages abound
I’m glad you were able to manually extend the landing gear and you’re okay.

A good thing these redundant systems are there. But a design flaw here I think. A system designed to detect the aircraft on the ground should only prevent selection of the undercarriage up (the concept of fail safe). There is no good reason for that switch to stop selection of undercarriage down in either normal or failed conditions. Presumably any time the gear is indicated as down and locked, such a command to put the gear down would be ignored anyway. I mean the gear down lever is not returned to a neutral position after the three greens are realised.
I am glad all went well with the landing gear issue and that you were able to land safely and got it repaired. It was very instructive to know how you handle the landing gear emergency and why you consider it unsafe to fly without the AP engaged when flying low.
Always a pleasure riding along with you Steve O. I'm glad you got the aircraft straightened out and back in service. Yes the low level coast flights are incredible. Thanks for bringing us along with you.

Great to hear everything is Ok. There needs to be a manual bypass to the switch or switches as an additional emergency option. This single point failure needs to be addressed in aircraft software and added to the pre flight check list.
Good flight. Always enjoy flying with you. Glad you got the situation straightened out with the pogi. That had to be unnerving!
Nice. Looking forward to this one
Great job SteveO!!!

Another excellent video. I always learn something. About the switch fail, there should be some kind of bypass to the switch information. Something with a guard or whatever that would disregard the switch and move anyway.
Thank you for sharing. Wow! I am glad the landing gear item was fixed on repair at that airport! And I am glad you were able to manually operate to push the landing gear down. I have to say that was a beautiful coast view there flying at about 500 feet. It was beautiful looking at the beach line and condo buildings!!! while you were passing along the Ft. Lauderdale beach line and you made me remember walking on the beach from the Sheraton Yankee Clipper Hotel area!! Yes, you are right that was a beautiful day you were flying in Florida!!! Again, thank you for sharing the passion of flying!!!!!
AWESOME FLYING Stevo! REALLY ENJOY your flying videos!
Great video as always Steveo. Caught your incident a while back on VAS Aviation and have been waiting for your follow-up. Beautiful job explaining the situation and willingness to not only teach but to learn. Great demeanor and attitude, a real credit to your profession. Thanks for all you do! Jim.

Yo handle it very well Stevo thanks to your knowledge and experience, congratulations
Great information and how and what to do is fly first communicate and then perform a checklist to see if you can solve the problem... Thank goodness for emergency procedures YOU do that is what to do >> IF
A very interesting video. Enjoyed your going through the procedure for the failed deployment of the landing gear. "When all the training pays off in Aces." 4 minutes to resolve the issue via manual deployment is remarkable (including the 45 pumps on the handle to deploy the gear).
@03:36 When I went through A&P school at Rock Valley College in Rockford, IL my sheet metal instructor is a retired Good Year Blimp pilot. I just saw it before you got into your plane
Long time fan of the Goodyear “Blimps “. When I was flying my Quicksilver MX out of a grass strip north of Ravenna OH, we saw them coming and going from their hanger at Wingfoot Lake. I actually was able to attend the christening of the blimp America in 2002. N.E.OHBob

Steveo you had so many shout outs on the radio. You are a superstar of aviation.
SteveO love how open you are in sharing with us, very much appreciated and I look forward to every post. Also love seeing the SoFL vids… I grew up in Miramar and learned to fly at North Perry in the early 80s while in High School. Sadly never completed prior to moving on to the Air Force. Thank you for your insight and willingness to educate and share with those that can’t for one reason or another. All the best, safe travels and maybe I’ll see you soon at KPDK or KCNI.

Was told years back if it has coolant or power flowing through it or goes round and round or up and.down at some point it will break, Superb Channel 👍
I'm not used to hearing tower change runways once in the pattern, was a great lesson reminding me to watch for confirmation bias.

cool to see the blimp bobbing around on it's mooring.
Woo that would make me nervous. Glad you fixed it 👍
Another great video, Steveo! I particularly appreciated, in light of your recent events, the use of "Knockin' On Heaven's Door" not once, but twice. Well played!
Love the Dylan intro/outro. Nice explanation about what went wrong on previous flight. Really interesting. That switch caused all that. I’m sure that small part had a nice price tag!
Awesome views of the beautiful Gold Coast. 🌴😎
Been waiting for this.
Hello from Minnesota! Way to follow procedures!!
Nice flight along the shore line good music what else can you ask for. Safe travels Steveo.
Runways are inspected about every 8 hours... they get cleaned usually a few times a year (2-3 times) with a pressure washer type system (usually done at night)... and runways get resurfaced about every 7-10 years, depending on the usage. I know this only because we looked at marketing a company that made the runway cleaning machines.
Nice work Steveo!
One tiny switch in the landing gear messed all that up, even cabin pressure.incredible.you get better everyday steveo.
