My father had an affair with his secretary, when Mum found out he beat her. My father ‘hid’ his assists in the secretary’s name until the divorce came through. 5 years in those days. Mum was left with half house and very small allowance for us 3 kids. Mum brought us to Western Australia, where she got a job, worked and finally bought our house. She’s my hero!

Was he evil? She wanted a divorce for no apparent reason. She wasn't battered or depraved, and had a good life. The wealth was apparently his, so she lived off it. The kids were grown up and taken care of. She just wanted out. She took pot luck and came out worse. He didn't want the divorce, it was all her doing.

No apparent reason? According to a BOY. She WAS depraved. A good life according to who? Again a little boy that's never been in the situation. The only reason that the HIDDEN wealth was his is because SHE did ALL THE REAL WORK IN THE MARRIAGE so that he didn't have to do squat. She wanted a life of her own that was VALUED by those around her that she DID EVERYTHING FOR. You're smoking pot if you believe this. It doesn't matter what he wants, EVERYTHING ELSE IS ABOUT WHAT HE WANTS. And it was HIS FAULT as to why they got divorced. Grow up lil boy.@@treasurehunteruk9718

Sorry to hear this, all you ladies!!! I went through a divorce with my second husband, I guess… Don’t count the first!! We had a son together, and a custody battle, but we both had nothing, because we were migrant farm workers a lot of the time!! so that part made it a lot easier! Though, it was not fun at all and wicked at times!! Before we broke up, I was walking out the door to go to a women’s shelter locally with our son in tow!!! I heard my ex-husband pick up the telephone and was calling the police department!! I didn’t wait around to find out what he was doing!! He accused me of sexually abusing our son!!! That was a dirty trick!! Ended up, having to go talk with a woman, police officer, who had no right to question me!! And then, for me to see my son, I had to go for supervised visits! But then, when we went to court in front of the magistrate, at least he had some common sense that we needed to go to counseling together, my husband and I. No criminal charges brought against me!! My son had also had gone into a foster family, because of all this!!! I’m sure his dad didn’t feel very good about all this?!?! At least I hope he didn’t!!! The position he put our son in, besides myself, though he probably was happy about this!!! Well, his first marriage he & his ex- had 3 boys, but he didn’t get custody, etc. He was an active alcoholic & smoker. Well, I have forgiven him though…
