This was the best Chinese drama I have ever seen. From the acting to costumes to cinematography, it's OUTSTANDING!

One of the reasons i like this drama is that the male protagonist is the first to fall in love. Phoenix really fall in love with her during the hundreds years she served as his book boy. Well, thats according to the novel anyway. Jin Mi is such a dunce when it comes to love so Phoenix is frustrated almost all the time..this is one of my favorite tropes. 😂😂😂

I have seen this series almost 2 years ago and I keep coming back which I dunno. I so love these and Jin Mi and Fenghuang. I miss you so much.. Especially Drng Lun, how I eanted to see him ahain on the silverscreen.

The first Chinese drama I ever watched; I cried a lot, I laughed, I was frustrated, but i ended up watching other dramas because of it. I managed to find the English translation and read the novel. I was very happy to read about them continuing to live their lives together for thousands of years after.

The novel is called Heavy Sweetness Ash Like Frost but the title Ashes of Love will also work. There are a number of epilogues after the main chapters that give more detail about Jin Mi and XuFeng s lives after the main story
