For those wondering the 30 second rule is actually true, if you make a phone call to the police they can only track you down after 0.000277778 hours, that is all.
@Alec0124
10 ай бұрын
more details: Back in the bell-bottomed pre-digital 1970s, telephone switchboards required operators to manually connect circuits, leaving the cops to cool their heels for 10 to 20 minutes while Ma Bell pinpointed the caller's location. That first 60 seconds might only get operators to the first or second switching station, hence the old "Keep him talking, Chief!" gambit.

So we just gonna ignore how the kidnappers are trying to finesse money by kidnapping but the background when the ppl from the church show up is in the absolute suburbs with big ass houses😂

So just as an aside, I worked with police 30 years ago and we had people who would hang up on cell phones nene 30 seconds thinking they could hide. But we still got the number they called from (usually a land line) so was traced. This is that whole Dunning Kruger thing)
@lymphomasurvive
3 ай бұрын
All you need is the time a call was placed and it's traceable.
the 30 second rule actually works, it has to do with the dehydration triangulation which tells us what when the cross factor of the telephone line reaches a vector larger or equal to the root of the distance to the police station then the speed of the radium signals reaches an equilibrium of e=mc squared. The thieves in home alone 1 and 2 actually used this principle to prevent the police from getting there on time.

@@iloveblender8999I'm pretty sure the police would need to serve a warrant to the company if they want to access this kind of info. And this process could take some time. Time that they wouldn't necessarily have in a case like this. Now, I don't know if the triangumation tech has gotten faster, but if not then the 30 seconds rule allows for instant localization
Best transition ever from video to video and it feels like a flashback
I’ve been watching this man for years. His content has never dipped in quality, fantastic
Not even to mention, they can get venmo to just tell them the couldn't bank info, then get the bank to tell them the address of the criminals and with the criminal info they can find any cars registered to them... This is why you always use cash.

@asdfqwerty14587

The only time it may have taken a significant amount of time is before computers were used for it - back when you actually had to have a person do it manually then it may have taken some time to do.. but I doubt it would take a computer even a millisecond to do the calculations. There's certainly nothing about the process that has any kind of hard time requirement. I guess the only other thing that may be a limitation is that it probably requires the cooperation of the phone company - the amount of time it takes to get that would be unclear, but if they already have their cooperation then it may as well be instant. Even if they don't have their cooperation however, they could almost certainly still get the location even after the phone hangs up (as long as they get cooperation afterwards) because all the information they need to perform the calculations should've been logged somewhere, so the duration of the call is still irrelevant.
The left-handed kidnapper seemed like he had a smidge more sense than the right-handed one.
