A hymn is a hymn to me. If you sing them with some power it can shift ANY church service. That’s one of my faves to hear Rhonda sing. She sung it at my grandfather’s funeral and almost wiped me out!!!!

Yessssssssssss!!!! I'm Presbyterian but I love these hymns. I was raised Baptist, however...

I attended a Funeral with the Elders of my community went I was a Young boy… I was very mischievous at the time.. and to be Honest I was mischievous afterwards… but the Elders Men & Women sung this song… and “God” touched my Soul… Many of my Elders couldn’t read nor write… but the Relationship they had with “God” and the Power of Prayer was unbelievable to me !!!

I'm 70 years old I've heard this song all my life and no matter where, who, how it's sang every body should want the light of God to SHINE ON THEM

Beautiful music ministry. I love when God's Vessels hold their All to God. She and her Brother Shawn have definitely been Blessed with great Gifts from God. Continue to spread the Good News brother and remember it's not necessarily about who can out sng who, it's about God getting a opportunity to get you to let him use you, because we all get caught up from time to time in things that don't even matter. It's like we recognize what's really important anymore, but I thank God for being who he is at all times cause he can make every crooked place straight!!!❤❤

I grew up in the Baptist and AME Church and those hyms. The hyms were song by slaves as a way of communicating too one another so that the slave masters wouldn't know what they were talking about. These baptist hymns mean a lot to our people. I LOVE THEM.

My brother that young woman was saaaaanging that song. Truly under the anointing, if someone doesn't have a relationship with the Lord when they hear this here ........ Okay help me Holy Ghost cause I feel the anoint still as I'm trying to text. O'Glorrrry! You may not like hymns but, when you have been through something, or the Lord is moving in your life, that's when you can sing like she did. I respect her for trying to be professional and she did with grace because I would have broke out in a dance 💃🏾💃🏾💃🏾 Because you don't know like I know what God has done and is right doing, and what I need him to yet do. But that young woman Hallelujah, my God Blessed my sooouuuul! Yes, Yes, Yes, Yessssssss Lord! That's what a good ole hymn and someone that is Anointed to sing will do you! Bless God! He needs to enroll in some Music Appreciation courses and Musicology courses....just to realize and learn Baptist churches do not OWN hymns. Religious people speak exactly like he does about hymns, but spiritual people understand God gets the glory no matter WHO SINGS the hymn OR which denomination sings it.

You can’t just sing a hymn just to sing it and just singing the words with no relational experience or connection, when you’ve been through some stuff then and only then will because he live I can face tomorrow, or savior , oh savior, hear my humble cry or great is thy faithfulness will make sense.

It’s “Shine On Me” and I’ve loved it for years growing up as a Baptist preacher’s kid. There’s so many more. I just love true hymns that have power!! As an adult, I find myself singing them to encourage myself when times get hard.

This Sister allowed God to use her. Praise God. Yes, she can sing this and any Hymn under The Anointing. It's a Hymn, sung in ANY denomination. Please don't label it as though it can only be sung in Baptist denomination. We should have an appreciation for ALL music. The Hymns are mostly written from Scriptures, just saying.

The only thing I thought of was When I was a child the hymnal we used had big letters in gold on it that said Baptist Hymnal. No offense meant, it was just the name on the book and probably the most well known hymnal of all. I still own one, it still has that name it, so I refer to it by its name! No offense is meant (I'm not even Baptist anymore).😊

I really like you and your channel, but the Baptist hymn comment is confusing. When did that song become locked to a denomination? The Song in its pure written state was written by Ernst Phipps in 1928 and he was from a Pentecostal Holiness Church. He is also noted for recording the old ship of zion. A hymn is a hymn and the denomination who sings it alters the delivery. Just my take.........Thank you bro for your content. You get all the Good stuff. I'm in Houston too but I never know whats going on. How do you get to all event or learn about them?

First of all, thank you for viewing my content, saying nice things and taking the time to comment! I had over 900 videos that I had to take down due to people using my videos on their channel. So KZread stopped monetizing my channel cuz of reused content, so now I’m uploading them back with commentary. Most of these videos were before the pandemic when musicals were plentiful. Lastly I call it a Baptist hymn cuz it’s sung mostly in the Baptist denomination. I hope me saying that didn’t offend you, if so I will refrain from it. It's not him that call these Baptist hymns, but that's what they are classified as bcuz None of these other denomination sings hymns as much as Baptist folk & neither do they song them like the Baptist church.

Absolutely nothing my sistah. A hymn is a hymn. All should be ministered as in this video to the glory of God. I love this! ❤️

A hymn regardless of denomination anointed by God can reach anyone. Let’s not get all messed up with denominational hymns and draw sinners to Christ.

BTW, Shine On Me is Not a Hymn. It's a Spiritual that was sung in our early Churches and down through the years...Still uplifts whenever, wherever today.

It's really a combo. "I Heard the Voice of Jesus Say" is a white hymn. But we took it, put some gravy on it lol and added the chorus "Shine On Me" 🖤

Hymns are the most theologically correct songs in music. Also, all hymns actually started in Methodist then when baptist broke out they kept the traditions. So hymns don’t belong to a denomination they belong to the church 😊

This was too performative for me, she has a nice voice but she seemed to be singing to get a reaction rather than ministering to move the people into worship. They were definitely responding to her more so than the spirit.
