Diego is such a good boy-it's clear that though he's anxious, he also is used to grooming. I couldn't believe how floofy he looked after the blow dry! He's a sweetheart and his cut is adorable 😍

It was nice that you pointed out that some dogs, even if conscientiously handled at grooming time for years, may still be fearful/nervous when being groomed. It isn't always from owner/groomer "abuse" or maltreatment.

I was just like your sister -- only had big dogs for my entire pet life. Then, I somewhat reluctantly fostered a miniature pinscher after my dog had passed away. TOTALLY became a foster fail! Within a month, we officially adopted and this crazy lil min-pin has been our beloved for 9+ years now 😂

Foster fails are so fun, it just feels like they found their way to your heart without you even trying or expecting it! My friend's first dog was a foster fail- he didn't expect to get a senior pet, but 14 year old Bichon Zoey needed someone to foster her temporarily, just until they could find a permanent foster. The way she followed him like a shadow, as if he was her entire world... the change in him was visible, he no longer came home to an empty house wondering if he mattered to anyone. They quickly became inseparable, and he became so much more animated and talkative when Zoey was at his side. It became clear he wasn't letting her go 😜 They both rescued each other, really 💓

My oldest daughter got a 8 week old maltipoo when she was 16 & Sophie is now 16 1/2. She has always loved going to the groomers and loves to "show off" when she gets home! Diego looks adorable! Diego is such a sweet boy! I got my shih tzu Kiki 8 years ago. I got her as a puppy in January, and in April of that same year, I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease. The next few years were the hardest of my life. There were days I didn't think I could go on. Kiki was always there for me. She was so happy to see me, so joyful, so eager to play, so eager to cuddle. She relied on me. She NEEDED me. And I made a promise to her that I would always take care of her. When things got really bad, I held onto that promise, because I knew if I went away, she would never understand why. I owe my life to my little dog. To this day, she is a light in my life. I will always be grateful to her, and all she wants from me is to sit on my lap for hours, and to get her belly rubbed every so often.

I used to say my late dog Tucker just absorbed my personality - he was always so anxious and fretful about things (I am also a ball of anxiety) and he hadn’t had a single rough day in his life, so he was just like that 🥺 Just a big ol’ sweetheart that fretted about his hoomans and what other people were doing around him.

She would also sit on the back of their couch and wait for you to say “oh Maizey! You look so pretty!” If we didn’t she’d mope around, pout, and give us sad eyes 😂😂 we miss her it was so funny and precious.

THIS DOG MADE ME MISS MY BOY COCO SOOOOOO MUCH!!! He passed in June at 12. I never wanted a small dog and a year after we got married we got Coco. His mom was a maltipoo and had belonged to my husband's brother Pat who died. She was 14 and 'somehow' got pregnant nobody really knows how except a dog must've broken into the family home's fence. Anyway, the puppies were such a blessing because they were also a reminder of Pat. The vet guessed the pups were a maltipoo/shitzu mix. He was the most gentle sweet smart dog. He was my baby and I miss him and cry every day! These dogs are just sweet angels.

I think he came out adorable and love the wave of his tail at the end.
