Island Motors Ep1 - Paul, owner of Island Brakes was kind enough to take time out to show me around a few of his cars that are kept at the Phillip Island business. Take the mighty Peugeot 504 rallye car, a mainstay , heof club events all down the east coast of Australia and way intio the wide forboding interior deserts. There is an iconic J series Holden Gemini that along with its colour scheme has become an iconic landmark for holiday makers visiting the island. A Fiat 500 Paul will evenntually get round to fixing up. Then out back there's a 2.7 Carerra 911 that's had the slant nose, flat nose flachbau treatment, a Peugeot 205 1.9 gti in race trim that has pout in plenty of laps at the nearby Phillip Island Grand Prix circuit and Paul's MGB that is eventuallly going up for sale.
And that's not to mention the three classic British bikes he has out from, including an iconic Triton, a cafe race mix of Triumph engine blended into a Norton body and two BSA motorbikes both for sale.
Twice weekly visits to classic auto workshops featuring cars from the veteran to RADwood eras & including car restoration, rebuilds, repairs and restomods to anything from Aussie V8s, American muscle cars, Euro exotics, JDM, your coveted everyday runabout and more. If it's built before 1999, there's every chance I'll film it.
My name is Dave and I simply l love old cars and visiting workshops to chat to the people working on them. Added to that, I devour car content on youtube so I thought I'd join in and make some myself.

And last of all, thanks to all the contributors that have allowed me use of their footage for the Known In 60 Seconds segment on the flachbau Porsches. I will be back to add credits here in the description but as you'll see, not much lasts on screen to have a credit appear that usually requires a five second segment. Researching it though has inspired me to do a deeper dive video in the future of the slant nose, flatnose, flachbau history so keep an eye out for that.
