What impresses me most about Yamal isn’t his technical ability. It’s his IQ, his maturity for his age. Dude picks and chooses his battles. He’ll pass the ball back in times where other wingers will attack and lose it, make a killer pass instead of trying to score and when he does shoot 🎯 He’s selfless and it’s incredible to witness. A true intergenerarional talent. We’re witnessing greatness. Hopefully the kid stays healthy and hungry.

Imagine growing up having your picture being held by Messi, there's no way this kid wasn't gonna be something big, especially with his parents support, training in La Masia, and his own talent. The stars aligned indeed.

There are lots of bright youngest and upcoming talents in football but you can tell that Lamine Yamal is just different from all of them. that is why, up until he's 20 or 21, his playing time should be somewhat limited. from 20s matches in the first, then 30-35, then 35-40; only when he reached the age of 20 can he be allowed to play for a full schedule (50-60 matches per club season).

I don’t think it would’ve made much of a difference, Pedri & Gavi played with him for a season or two & they aren’t shining that bright & Bojan, his own cousin, couldn’t really reach his peak, being consistent enough to be even mentioned in a conversation post the Barca golden era. Messi plays better with equals (talent wise), I think him & Lamine would’ve been unstoppable especially because of how similar their playstyles are.

I remember people used to lambaste the comparison of young Messi to Maradonna saying he's not even talented as Robino or Kaka and he's overrated. Messi himself detested the comparisons too.
