one thing i love about these guys is they barely blink. they're not afraid to take punches

Too little too late was the story of this one for Loma. He was the P4P king at this point so it was REALLY puzzling when he ceded the entire first half of the fight to Teo (which almost felt deliberate???) and then had to play desperate catch-up at the end. Still boggles my mind to this day but I'd like to see these two run it back again.

He claims he had a shoulder injury prior to the fight. After the fight, he had surgery on it. Who knows if that's true but it would explain a lot.

He was scared of Teo’s power early on. You can tell by how much he reacted and backed away from body shots. He was hoping he would tire out but took too long. Even in the build up to fight, one of the episodes Loma is talking about how big Teo is and how his shoulder looked as big as his head to him. He was scared man.. he knew that power can take him out. He can say shoulder this or shoulder that, but dude was scared to get hit

And I actually blame Lomachenko. He should have post-phone the fight but it was during the pandemic and he was worried he would not get another title shot. He should have gotten shoulder surgery to repair it and reschedule a better date but he took a chance, fought injured, and didn't get the decision. The POINT is that he pretty much nearly beat Teofimo with one arm. How do you not get that through your head? HE IS THE BETTER BOXER. Its like beyond obvious to see. If the punches to the body in the early round really connected, it would affect loma stamina on round 7 up to the later rounds. But what happened was the opposite. The head punches of loma keep keep the head of lopez snapping back.

Sheshh that 12th round for Lopez was like no other round in the fight .

Dude I’m a Loma fan too, been a fan ever since his first title fight only after a handful of professional fights. But when it comes to this man for some reason, people refuse to see the truth. I’m Filipino and a manny pacquiao fan, I saw the same sort of blindness to the truth with my fellow fans. Like guys.. open your eyes… look at how much Loma backed up, how much those body shots scared him, how much he reacted to faints to the body, dude was feeling Teo’s punches and he was scared to go full attack mode till like round 6 or 7. Under Olympic Judges what do yol say the score would have been?

Loma's adjustment period was too long. Giving away 4 or 5 rounds before getting into it is way too many rounds to be giving up. That cost him the winning decision.

i like teo 100% great fighter. but loma is my personal top 5 fav boxers of all time and he just really upsets me by giving so many rounds in the start of every fight he has he seems like he never wants to brawl or let his hands fly when he is full of life and can take those punch for punch trades. he always starts firing off when its too late. it seems like he forgets he gotta box for points too. sad man he could be doing so much more if he just made adjustments to his pacing turning it off and on more often throught asll rounds vs half and half.

Excellent fight and the strategy of Teofimo Lopez to not go for all that movement out scoring Vasiliy Lomachenko in every round but two. This was pretty much a carbon copy of the Devin Hanny fight that came latter resembling the same scenario a unanimous decision it wasn't even close. Body language says alot about a😮 boxer after the match one fighter is full of joy and jubilation before the score cards are announced and the other fighter is displaying all the signs of defeat...

Bruh Loma waited too long to attack. From the 8th round onwards,you could see he was in a hurry to catch up some numbers, Lopez on the other hand smelled trouble and used the last round to decide the result, if Loma had that last round in the bag,it could either be a win for him or a split draw at best,but what a lot of guys and heart from Lopez to step on the gas,he was in a tight spot in those last 5 rounds.

Just watched this on ESPN, so badly described. Andre Ward’s card was way way off track. Bad decision by the ref to stop fight with 12 seconds left in the 12th round. A few combination outburst in round 8 and 9 is where I gave the rounds to Lomachenko. My card is 118-110 López. Only my opinion.
