Very different watches. If accessible, both seems to be great additions to a collection.

Snoopy = a kitsch marketing product. The 321 = a classic, understated wristwatch.

Pity they made it so thick, >14mm for a manual wind is severe. Can't imagine original spec was the same

If Omega would make a regular stainless steel speedy, on the bracelet, with the Silver dial, blue subdials and blue bezel, that would be a killer watch. But instead they prefer to only make it with a cartoon character in a super limited production. Thanks Omega 😂

@@arnovda9479 from wearing it for more than 2 weeks now, I can say that the cartoon character is not really obvious and in your face when you look at the dial from any distance (even close). As a matter of fact, in real life, you barely notice that there’s something in that second sub-dial at 9 o’clock. It’s more subtle than we might think ;-)

I like both of them , the 321 a tad bit more. But tbh both are maybe hyped but for sure not apex Omegas. There are a few others that deserve the title Apex more.

Allocations for such watches depend on your net value to the boutique, SA etc. If you listened and followed along uptick, Simon and their third friend's purchasing history. Most of them bought watches that would be "perceived" as a "net gain" for the boutiques. It wasn't just a one-off purchase as well. Since you didn't state if you had your wishlist written up at either an AD or a Corp owned boutique.... an AD won't get as many quantities for the in demand models as the Corp owned boutique would... Finally, Omega boutiques ... some are owned by ADs, further complicating your situation. Therefore, by rule of thumb... unless the demand equation changes, you're not getting those watches at all since your wait time is beyond the norm.

Well, I have bought three expensive Omega models in the last year and when I ask the dealer about the Ed White or Snoopy, they only say "sorry, it is impossible". Not all Omega dealers take good care of their customers. That is why I have become a customer of Jaeger Le Coutre instead!

@@sn00ze88while I would tend to agree that it’s only logical that customers who spend more get more, you have to remember that this unwritten rule only universally applies to particular brands - Omega is not one of them. It’s a loved brand but you can tell by secondary market price whether they are actually sought after watches. The 321 on the secondary is basically retail plus tax - so this isn’t a Daytona by any means. Aside from that, I have a gigantic purchase history at both my AD and my boutique - so it’s not that either. Some regions of the world just aren’t being allocated models by Omega. The issue isn’t at the AD or Boutique level. The issue is with Omega’s distribution/production model.

@@sn00ze88 while I would typically agree that it's only logical high value customers get allocations faster - that unwritten rule really only applies to particular brands (Rolex, Patek, AP, VC, etc.). Omega does not fall within this allocation strategy because they don't have a highly in-demand catalogue to support it. While the 321 is fairly sought after, it's no Daytona. You can determine how in-demand it is by the price it fetches on the secondary market. At the moment, it is barely selling for retail plus tax. The most sought after Daytonas go for multiples of their retail on the grey. And, by the way, even though those Daytonas are much more sought after than the 321, they are much easier to get at retail. Besides all this, I have a very sizeable purchase history at both my AD and my boutique - so my value as a customer is high. The issue isn't with the ADs or boutiques - it's with Omega's distribution/development strategy. Some geographies just aren't seeing these watches. This reality is truly unfortunate for Omega because, as the market continues to trend down and more people are tightening their recreational spending, they will begin to see a large impact on their ability to sell. Brands like Omega will need to pivot quickly to make available the models people (with disposable income) actually want. If they don't adapt to the changing market conditions, their market share will continue to dwindle. Omega will never go out of business because they are propped up by Swatch Group - and as long as they have the cash cow that is the MoonSwatch, Omega's inability to increase their influence on the piechart doesn't really matter. However, the fact remains that no business is intended to perform in such a way that sees their market share dwindle year over year. As their buying demographic continues to watch this take place, they will reallocate their money elsewhere - and that will put a stink on the brand if it continues for long enough. Bottomline, it cannot be an easier pathway to getting a GMT-Master II or Daytona than it is for being allocated a Snoopy or 321 - and, unfortunately, I can tell you from first-hand experience that, for the moment, that is indeed the case.
