“Maybe he wasn’t the perfect dad. But maybe we weren’t the perfect kids.” Growing up is realizing how much truth is in that quote. Realizing how well your parents really did instead of just seeing the negatives is a huge step.

@cald1421 I so completely agree with you! I had a terrible childhood till about they age of 10. And from there on, it was meanly my dad that really cared and loved me……. And he’s my stepfather! But now, I’m grown myself, have 3 grown up kids, I realize that my mum did what she thought was right, she had no instruction papers when we where born, she had to figure it out as she went along. She herself had no example on how to raise a child. Her father disappeared when she was 9. And then her mother disappeared on her 11th birthday. So, please people, try and have some companion with your parents. You don’t always know what went on in their lives. And you yourself as a adult can choose how you react, you can even choose how you feel about certain things/people. And if you ask any of my kids, the will tell you that they did not agree with everything I and their dad did whilst raising them And say they will do some things differently when they raise their children. And that’s how it is meant to be. Every child/ parent/person is different as we al know! Sorry for all my rambling😢😢😢 Not very good with words, spoken one, not the one on the laptop….Hihihi Mind you, not to good at that one either🤣🤣🤣🤣 Again there are exceptions!!!!!!

my mother went to a shamane or something like this who often made with mothers something where you let go off your children when they are adults like a very late after birth 😅 She told me that the woman said "I know we don't really get gratitude from our children" and my mother said "No, my children often tell me thank you!" which baffeled the woman. I don't know if either the children don't value their mothers or if the mothers don't really regonize the gratitude they get. My parents did a lot wrong which led to trauma and struggles for their four children but they did so much right. I only got small pieces of the emotional neglect they themselves experienced. They were way better parents then my grandparents (at least one of them was a sexual Predator (Rest so not in peace asshole)) and they are still improving in becoming better people and parents ❤

@@Deemedworthyfollower yes. I'm observing the details the directors and writers and crew included. This show is supposed to give viewers insight into Sheldon and how he grew into the character from TBBT. They styled the actor who plays his father to have black hair with a side part and neatly worn above the ears, which is how younger and older Sheldon keeps his hair. It's a subtle detail that while he struggles to relate to his father, he still wants to connect with him even if just a little bit. You know, subtext.

Mary falls clearly into the category of nobody's perfect. Did they really ? Only info on goerge sr is Mary abd Sheldon calling goerge sr a drunk who hid his beer in a soda can. Goerge sr cheating on Mary. Sheldon catching him cheating creating his 3 knock compulsion . Other times Sheldon talks about about how his dad forced him to make football strategies. He hated that. But he also said it was one of the few times Sheldon and his dad bonded in an intellectual level. He also misses his dad and bonded with Bernadette father because he reminded him of goerge. Sr. When I wards mom died Sheldon told Howard he did not have anyone to help him overcome the loss of his father.,but Howard’s has many freinds to help him through his grief. Then the clip we just saw is of sr giving one of the many pep talks that not only help his foot ball team but also encourage Sheldon when he was down. The main series never said goerge sr was an abusive monster the fanbase made him out to be. He is a drunk. He drinks constantly. He never uses his drinking to cause his family harm. It just shows there more than one side to the story. Sheldon definition of going drugs is drinking coffee. Because of the caffeine. The whole drunk is an exaggeration The fanbase created this boogey man from what little information. It wasn’t positive. Those are rare in the main series. They are often ignored. Goerge. Sr in the fan base became this abusive drunk who cheated on Mary. Projecting whatever daddy issues . Young Sheldon proved otherwise. He still a drunk. He tries Tobago what he can. He is the one that makes Sheldon do stuff he doesn’t want for his own good.

@@brawl8 i never said he was abusive, being a bad parent doesn’t necessarily mean hitting your child. what i mean is sheldon’s dad was there for him and he supported him a lot and really believed in him yet the plot makes it seem like george wasn’t a good dad

@@shahadmerani3116 Neither did the series. Sheldon would complain about his dad and how his parents would force him to do things he didn’t want to do. That doesn’t mean he was a bad parent. Just like giving your child everything they want doesn’t mean one is a good parent either. As I said the fans saw Sheldon complain. Made a boogey man out of Sheldon dad. I think they are upset the monster they imagine doesn’t exist. Fans are going so far as to say it’s separate timeline. They would rather keep the monster they created than accept things weren’t. What many imagine were like. Goerge may cheat on Mary . He still human. He was a good dad trying to make the best of his life. Trying to raise his kids be better than him. They did the same thing to jr. He Is mentioned even less. He messed with Sheldon and got divorced twice. Abd is dumb as bricks. Until the show introduced him and blew everyone opinion out of The water. after. Young Sheldon expanded from that one episode. Showing the journey jr is going through to be the successful tire store chain owner.

Big bang theory was made before Chuck Lorre thought of a Young Sheldon series; it was reportedly Jim Parson's idea. Chuck liked it but didn't want too cast Jim Parson's nephew in the series instead they cast the young Sheldon whom we either love/or adore, or truly dislike. So the writer's in big bang theory wrote the script's exactly how they believed The Show would End No more stories to tell.

Mary and George both had their ups and down and of course different ways of dealing with the issues they faced whether they did so correctly or not but I will say one thing I can tell they both love their kids and want what’s best for them even if they can’t be the best parents in the world they try their hardest. They became parents at a very young age with Georgie, so it makes since that they weren’t perfect but they at least tried and that’s a lot more than most parents do today, they both had their strong suits and George was a pretty good dad being as he could of just left Mary to raise Georgie on his own😌

They were equal in parenting no parent is perfect in raising there children. whether agree or disagree Mary raising him did come from what The Bible teaches. George came from He's so happy no more religion is in House. Was ever present support even when he didn't understand everything Sheldon said. Since Mary and Sheldon went too Germany she may go through a Revival of her own that'll get her better aligned with The Lord. The Pastor removed her from church board member duties, the church congregation rejected holding her hand's during prayer and subsequently kicked her out, not Jesus, the spiritual crisis she's been facing is piling it on. Seriously I was not surprise by the many minions of the Devil circling right from one's own Family. Mary is the one that got saved she was the lone eagle in this family!

My dad passed away in 2008. When someone that close to you suddenly gets taken away, it leaves a void in your heart that aches with every heartbeat. I wish I could tell you that the pain goes away with time. But it doesn't. The pain never goes away. The void can never be filled. You just get used to living with the void and the pain. For anyone who has lost a parent, Remember them for the happy moments you spent with them, not for the sad moments you went through when they died. They'll want to be remembered with a smile, if you have to shed tears, let them be tears of joy in their memories.

I feel so bad for you all 😢😢😢
george loved sheldon even when sheldon might have been a tough person to live with but george always wanted what was best for sheldon and made sheldon brave and knowing that george is looking down on sheldon he would be proud of the man he has become
that one scene with sheldon just looking at a photo of his dad really hits hard 😔😔
Sheldon had a good dad..He didnt have much...but he gave him everything ❤️
That was actually beautiful, thanks OP
Its even harder now that the episode has came out. We could never be emotionally prepared. 😢
😢 it's why Harder now after the episode
George really was a good father
Maturing is realising that George, while flawed, was the good parent who wanted what was best for his family and Mary was only after what she wanted

@justsleepsleepweallknowyou7652 She wasn't a good mom she never payee attention to missy and her religion torn the family apart. She hated georgy and only basically like sheldon and raised him to think he is never wrong. She basically was gonna cheat first with the pastor. George was a better parent but he also had mistakes.
So sad😢. He will be dearly missed. Great father and amazing character.
here after season 7 episode 12. i'm so sad rn
My favorite George lines. "Honey call the police someones passed out on our porch." He just looked over kids. Even if they weren't his.

Exactly! Sheldon often speaks in a formal manner, but in this scene it’s one of the exceptions❤️🩹
He was the best character to ever displayed on the show truly respect him.❤

@brawl8

I lost my Dad March 14th to Cancer at 64, I miss him greatly and appreciate what he did for me...Miss you and Love you Dad.
Bro dropped the coldest George Cooper edit and thought we wouldn’t notice
And now that he passed away on young sheldon 😢
Mary and George both had their ups and down and of course different ways of dealing with the issues they faced whether they did so correctly or not but I will say one thing I can tell they both love their kids and want what’s best for them even if they can’t be the best parents in the world they try their hardest. They became parents at a very young age with Georgie, so it makes since that they weren’t perfect but they at least tried and that’s a lot more than most parents do today, they both had their strong suits and George was a pretty good dad being as he could of just left Mary to raise Georgie on his own😌
I could only wish to be such a good dad as him
Hits harder after you watch the latest young Sheldon episode man that hurt me so much
😭 RIP George , the coolest character in Young Sheldon .
Bro I loved George and I always cry when I see something like this
I'm sorry the last clip hit me💀
Here after his death revealed 😢
Now he has died in s7ep12
Not the brisket scene at the end 💀
"One never realizes that one's parent died a thousand times so you could live" (came up with this quote)
He did died
Yall George died
This had to be a hard scene for Jim Parsons. He lost his dad too soon also.
Huh proves Sheldon isn't always heartless
the panning shot of him throwing the football hit hard for me

Both needed a retreat Mary and Sheldon!

Im pretty sure Missy was the lone eagle
I just watched one of the last episodes of Young Sheldon, it's amazing how even for a fictional character you barely know the moment he died it felt like an actual family member or close friend you knew just died.
*Growing up is realizing your parents weren't always perfect but they still did their best to support and be there for you they were still great.*
Who else is here after watching George's death in the latest episode? 😭
It definitely hits harder now that we’ve experienced George’s death
He did die in todays episode
He's gone , long gone.....
He was a good dad😢😢😢 he didn’t deserve to die
The time has come 😭😭
Sheldon: thanks dad. Way to go get them help : leaves. George: sorry son I’m in a better place you see me in heaven
Well maybe if George wouldn’t drink all those beers he would’ve been alive not dead ☠️
Miss my dad too. Passed in 1968 n feels like yesterday
George is my favorite character.❤
