And that’s where you went right….if a woman looks like someone in the appropriate age group for you to date (40+ year old guys if she looks 18-20 and even if she IS 18-20, it’s still creepy) there’s nothing wrong with you. Now when you find out she is underage (there are signs like a reluctance or nervousness about talking age, slip ups where they mention things like “my teacher” etc) then if you are disgusted and instantly repulsed by the idea then you’re definitely a good man and you’ll be alright. Many would rather have someone older, experienced, and likely more willing to settle down, vs being forced (by law and social norms) to date literal boys who just fuck them over consistently for cool points amongst their buddies. Then they turn 21 and we wonder why they’re so fucked up lol I spoke to some law enforcement guys from Chicago about this issue (who investigated child sex crimes) and we both agreed that 15 is a suitable age of consent for both sexes. Too many men and women having their lives ruined bec we won’t let a 16 yo date a 21 yo, as if it’s ANY OF MY BUSINESS who a teenager decides to give their body to lmao. Let me give you an example, I have a 2 yo daughter in a state where 16 is the legal age. If she want to fuck a 25 yo, and I tell her no, guess what? She’s gonna go fuck a 35 yo just to piss me off lol there’s no use in trying to limit the pool of available men to her solely based on age. It actually makes waaayy more sense for her to be out with a man that is experienced, who has an education/established skill set/job for her to get a solid foundation for adult life. That opportunity won’t be available to my son, but that’s just the way shit is. He has to get used to it the same way I did, my father did, and so on.

Literally happened to me all the time when I was 13 😂 I had my growth spurt early and was like 5’10 at the age of 13 and therefor did not look 13 but rather 19 or 20. I remember guys would ask me out and I would say I’m 13 or 14 (at the time) and they would turn around so fast and walk away so fast like their life depended on it 😂😂

Im 23 now but i havent been asked for my id in 3-4 years now. You can say that if they look younger than 25 you should ask for an id but people can look older than 25 while still be under that age (i sometimes even got away with buy alcohol when i was 16 ish due to my beard)

Um, to this day, 14 is still legal in SC (with parental consent of course). More than half the states in the US allow marriage between 16 and 18, and 15 states allow it younger than 16. Not commenting on the morality of anything, just that it's still legal in places.... afterall, I'm _completely against_ marriage at _any_ age.

I don’t think it’s about laws, really. Depending on how far back you look, women couldn’t legally vote, hold jobs, get an education, own property… etc. - there were laws in place that caused this and yet morally people were opposed to these things which is how it eventually was overturned. It makes complete sense that as society stopped accepting and normalizing women as belongings, that we also stopped viewing it as acceptable for them to be sold off into marriages to much older men. It’s still considered legal and appropriate for teenagers to date and even marry other teenagers (depending on your state laws). The only major change is we no longer accept much older men pursuing those young women. This isn’t a case of the laws dictating our social norms and morals, but rather our laws coming to reflect our inherent moral values over time.
