@@gnss118 attack on Karachi in 1971, was due to Pakistan’s own fault. Post 1965 war, Pakistan did not invest in it’s navy, and the Pakistan Navy was ill prepared during the 1971 war. Today Pakistan Navy is strong, and the result of any Naval attack on Karachi will be very different.

I served in PNS Ghazi along with Tasnim where he was executive officer. It is very unfortunate that both countries have the capability to kill each other many times over. The billions that are spent on armament could have been spent on the welfare of their people. I have watched, with very heavy heart, the interview of captain Mahendra Mulla’s widow. Will there ever be peace and normalization of relations between the two countries?

I pray that wars Don't happen so that no one lose their loved ones in tragic ways.I have also watched the interview of the widow of that sunk ship INS Kukri's captain. The grief,the never ending pain to loose her loved one in her eyes.may we leave in a peaceful world and solve our conflicts all across the globe on table rather than wagging wars on each other.

Two heros here. 1) The Pakistani Vice Admrl (then Captain) for protecting the biggest city of his country. 2) The Indian Captain for hugging responsibility with bravery. This also shows that Navy involves so much mathematical and physics calculations.

@@prathappoojary3618 India only claims that they destroyed PNS Ghazi but to this day they have not been able to present even a shred of any credible evidence to support their claims. Infact in 2010, due to some mysterious reasons the Indian Navy destroyed all the records of their investigation into this matter. Maybe their investigations didn't bear the desirable results but since they were too ashamed to admit it so they had to destroy all the records to cover up the lies that they had been preaching all these years

For India... there are many India disguised Ghazi, which was self destroyed in Ocean Karachi port was heavily attacked and blocked by Indian Navy Battle of Longowala, where 120 solidiers fought a full night, not allowing 50+ tanks of pakisthan from entering India, and eventually airforce demolishing all those... And BBC is ignoring all those...

Thats how sufficient was Pakistani navy to surrender 93000 army on mercy 😝

I recall the picture of Captain Mulla , smoking a cigarette. He ordered his men to abandon the ship, but he himself did not.

First of all correct your information, army men were 25 to 31 thousand and they were not coward they were brave men who fought with 16 times bigger army and million of rebels which was accepted by general minak shaw interviewed by BBc and far away from native land about thousand of kilometers, so they managed the wars 15days was a good achievement

The INS Khukri captain underestimated the threat from submarines and disobeyed orders. He was ordered to move in a zig zag manner, but he moved in a straight line and became a sitting duck. He played a hero by going down with the ship but that is useless bravado. Any way india sank ONS Gazi and some ships in karachi harbour and won the war at sea.
