I think the colour-shifting effect you’re thinking of is iridescence. That’s what it made me think of anyway, kind of like an oil-slick reflection.

Should have kept her armor the same color as her other model, so it'd visually connect more

I've never played Necromunda, but the Spyre Hunters have always been my favorite things in it, followed by House Van Saar, and then House Escher, and that was even true way back, when the Spyrers looked...silly, so to finally see them get remade, and look cool, is wonderful!

If they made these guys a 40k faction I would be happy.

I hope her old model doesn't leave! It was a crazy awesome model

That's a really cool mini model, I try to snag this one when I can.

The OG Haera is fantastic, and cannot be beaten! As I said elsewhere, I think as and when I get this one, I'm going to change her head so the head is more like a porcelain mask, and making her the Matriarch to my House Catallus Spyrers. The model being FW resin isn't something that I'm overly fussed about, as I'm used to it with Krieg and Elysians, as well as the HH characters that've become my custom chapter characters. Forgeworld still existing as an entity is a surprise. I double-checked the FW Van Saar upgrades I have, and they still have the FW website link on the box, not Warhammer...

I saw the thumbnail and thought GW was finally updating Eldar Warpspyders

Maybe they refer to it as Forge World resin, to try and separate it from the Finecast resin disaster. Plus they can protect the Forge World name, and be litigious, if anyone tries to rip off the name to confuse customers.

That suit looks kinda like a Warp Spider. I know the Primaris have been copying the Aspect Warrior's homework since debut but now even the Necromunda gang got new Warp Spiders before the Eldar did. At this point, I'm not even surprised 😂

There's an old bit of sidebar fluff in which a scholar compares the names of the suit to tau and eldar naming conventions. Al9ng with questions as to where they get them. The implications being that the suits are of xenos make. Powdib,y from who ever 'made' the tau. As this was around the same time the Xenology book brought up the whole Tau as a created species bit.

I also like to lean into the fan lore of Eldrad using his vast seer powers to just get up to bullshit because he's old and bored, so I like to think it's him somehow orchestrating events to stop the Imperium from curbstomping the emerging Tau empire, entirely just to troll the Ultramarines

Not sure what to think of the new Spyres, think I need to see a 360 degree pic and maybe some other colour schemes.

I think the other Spyrers are in plastic, as it's mentioned in other articles about them all fitting on the same sprue, and it would keep with the rest of Necromunda; gangs being a plastic sprue, dramatis personae being FW resin.

I think she'll make a great base for a mechanicum magos when the heresy battleforce drops - especially for dark mechanicum.

I wish all the Spyer models and more fun paint jobs. Adore the models

Ha, i actually got into a discussion last week that GW and Warhammer Community had stopped using the phrase "Forge World Resin" for a while - tried to find the last article that used it, and went back 3 months of articles and found nothing. And then the covers Dwarven Mountain Holds Arcane Journal for The Old World leaked, and i noticed that has the FW logo on the back, as does all the Arcane Journals, and then this, so yeah, i guess its still a thing. Technically.

The big white boxes still say Forgeworld - didn't notice if they still had signage however.

The Old World resin models come in Forgeworld resin and are supposedly good. So maybe they've changed the compound? Also her hand claw is the claw from the rumour engine.

weirdly WarCom still occasionally say something will be forge world resin in the odd article here and there. the more interesting takeaway from that though, is that it said nothing of the sort on the articles for the malstrain alpha or coalescence, so finger crossed they'll be in plastic

A lot of the old world resin kits I've ordered come with a quality checked by forge world slip of paper.

My Forge World Bretonnian Standard bearer has Forge World on the box.

I think the dress is better than the suit. Not that the suit is bad, but I need that other model in my life.

Honestly....its a downgrade and i HATE it, it looks super cheap and low detail compared to the original. there isnt enough visual flair to it and that grox shite green makes it look like it was painted by a child with a can of metalic spray from a £1 shop.
