Gish-Galloping. It's basically the verbal/conversational equivalent of trying to solve a Rubik's Cube with someone insisting that for every twist of the cube you make to solve it, they get to take it from you to make two random twists to prevent you from doing so. As is the case here, what she is saying is as secondary as it is nonsensical. Every word she says, and why she's trying to prevent Pearl from talking, is purely to stop a point being made that she fully realizes she has no meaningful counter to. The only way to deal with someone like this conversationally is to allow them to gish-gallop till they run out of steam and tropes, and then simply restate the sentence you said to bring the conversation right back to where it was for them to address, to show them that their diversionary tactic will not work and to keep the coversation on point. The good thing about this is that someone of this ilk will only attempt to apply this tactic when they know you're getting close to making a point they will fall flat on when trying to address, so it serves to give you signals that you're entering the area in which someone will lose an argument (or area within an argument) rather than having their desired affect once you learn to spot it.

I unironically hate that point, even as someone who isn't straight. It's fine to have different standards for men and women, because you're seeking different things from those relationships. But it didn't address the point made, because she's still attracted to men. If she wasn't, then sure the question isn't really applicable. My theory is she has these various things she's attracted to that, that she knows are just unexplainable and not made with her like "Thinking brain"(Hoe math has a good explanation of this) and I'd wager she thinks it's misogynist and this is her weird way of poorly trying to justifying it. Yes a great line, loved it, you talk to most guys and they don't go beyond anything beyond changing fluids, filters, bulbs, etc., minor electrical, but not really belts, or brakes, just the standard non complicated repair. I may go a bit above that like looking up the code for a sensor or something less mechanical, won' touch anything beyond electrical and maintenance, once it goes under the surface I'm out, I work with electronics, so it's within understanding from my job, but it's not common. I take my car in for oil changes and change of a belt because I'm in a condo, and also I really don't feel like it . 😀 Of course I guess it will vary depending on where you live, how old you are, etc., I do know one or two people that could pretty much rebuild an engine, so could go either way I guess, still, great line.

The gap is in average national yearly income, all men in all jobs vs all women in all jobs. It is not about comparing people in the same job. A person making $20 per hour working 10 hours a week is paid twice as much more than some one making $10 per hour working 40 hours a week but is earning half the income. They are intentionally misrepresenting what the statistic is showing to push the idea it exists for a reason that in reality has a very tiny almost meaningless effect on the gap. Otherwise, if the claim was true any smart companies could just fire all their male employees and replace them with woman to do that same job and save 25% etc on their payrolls. No one is doing that because it isn't what is happening.

I'd add to that that we all need other people, even if you are a man. It's impossible to do it all on your own, and have the life standard of modern civilization. People who live completely self-reliant have to live very modest. All the "luxury" they have was kept from a life in society, and then maintained. This also shows that abandoning people is cruel, and that nobody is really fully self-reliant.

I was married to one of those evil creatures for twenty years. I have been married to the loveliest woman for 33yr. What a difference.

By adding women to the workforce governments basically doubled the taxable income for themselves, so pay has dropped due to a surplus workforce, cost of living has increased , ppl can’t afford rent and bills this isn’t a product of the older generation it is a product of “ strong independent women” forcing a societal imbalance. Feminism decades ago was about women having equal access to the same jobs men have. They have that. Feminism in 2023 is an activist movement demanding whatever women feel they deserve with the complete destruction of the male of the species. A Fem Activist will tar ALL men with the same brush irrespective of the man’s beliefs. But if a man makes any generalisation about a women he gets accused of misogyny / sexism. There is no such thing as “ toxic masculinity “ there is just masculinity, “toxic” is just added by females that want to criticise men for their actions. What has actually caused the “modern problems “ is not a generational issue. It’s the disparity between the 1% at the top and the 95% living near the poverty line….capitalism is the cause of this disparity and in a society where the young have been brainwashed into being the victim they are unwilling to accept any responsibility for it or do anything to change it.

It was the current generation hijacking and twisting what was gained in equality into something that it wasn't meant to be. You're doing exactly what the modern generation always does now... blame someone else for either your own faults or the faults of your peers.

The woman talking to Pearl has just determined to invent reasons to be right. The usual obnoxious attitude of guilt, insults, shaming and the need to be right that modern women do when they are found out 🙄

Good lord, that woman in the Pearly things section was literally saying the opposite of everything she said when her contradictions were pointed out, and acting as if she was still making some kind of coherent argument, flip flopping and admitting she was in fact negating her own points. Talk about 100% inability to have a rational conversation with such a static filled bundle of chaotic hatred lol.

I'm a Gen X woman and I understand the gender pay gap... it was a real thing. It used to be that a man and woman hired for the same job started at different pay and for the same job received different pay. That isn't the case anymore. If you consider that women work substantially less overtime, work less physically demanding jobs, work less dangerous jobs, often takes years off in the middle of their peak earning years, take more days off after having children because of the children's needs, are less flexible with scheduling because of family life etc. We are not subject to a pay gap, we create the pay gap because we prioritize our personal life over our work life more than men. Yes, you can argue that men don't have to because women do, but again, usually that is a woman' or families choice. I really wish we could just let go of that argument already. The best argument to prove this truth is that if women, doing the same job, got less pay, every corporation would prioritize hiring women because it would substantially increase profit.

To be specific, it wasn’t a sexism issue. The pay difference was because at the time the laws hadn’t caught up to women’s introduction to the work force. Employers often took advantage of that to increase profits by cutting corners on women’s pay among other things. Businesses couldn’t care less, their focus was on squeezing out every last cent they could.

Well said... I wish every 'toxic' feminist would (be able to) think like you, or at the very least see beyond all the rhetoric. It is always easy to just repeat what some people say without truly understanding what it means. Case in point - when a 'teenaged' girl talks about this topic, one may wonder what has ever really happened to them that is so unfair.

None of these main characters can even conceive of the fact that while they sleep, countless men are pulling night shifts to keep wolves from the door, stop power stations from blowing up and to make sure they'll have access to fresh meat, fruit and vegetables when they wake up in the morning.

My local community college is basically begging women to get electrical and HVAC degrees for almost free with scholarships and they still can't get many women to do it

well, they're women. they weren't even in the workforce until a couple generations ago. women aren't wired to perform labor, they've always up until modern times preferred to work in a family environment. It might be hard work, working in fields and tending to animals and such... but it's a Nurturing environment with close familiar connections. Performing labor as a man is to shut off all of that. because we have to. women hate that.

She says “men have to be macho” which is why they commit suicide more often. Men don’t have to be macho by choice. They are forced to be, to keep the hurt and pain inside, which can eventually lead to suicidal thoughts, because if they don’t women will call them soft, weak, insecure, childish, etc, etc, and won’t deal with them. So men must hide it if they want a woman in their life.

@@robinsss Hi Robinsss, I never said all women. I guarantee all women is not the case. If that’s what you thought I was implying my apologies. In my experience it has been most women though. Far more than I would have ever expected. No not all women, there are some amazing women and some horrid women, just as is the case with men. Over the past few years especially, I have found more women who have this response than don’t. I’m not 100% sure if it’s bad luck, the age group or the status’ that most are divorced vs never been married. Any way you slice it most of the women, I’d say sample size around 20-30 women total, 90% were of that mindset. The other 10% were just 🦇💩 crazy.

That's what I always say to people that claim they hate men or claim they hate women "Tell me more about your relationship with your father/mother".

The day I started college, I met a girl who was in her last class to finish her degree. It was algebra and it was my first class to start my degree. No patriarchy stopped her from signing up for algebra years ago. No patriarchy stopped her from advancing to calculus or statistics. She did it to herself. She did not prepare herself for advancement in any kind of technical job. Show of hands, how many effinists believe the patriarchy stopped her from getting a good education?

We have allowed weak men to spoil women at a very young age. Women are physically weaker and need to use their brain instead of using physical strength to gain power. The internet has given the average women 10 times the options that they had before the internet. Story time!!!! About a decade ago, I was sitting outside because I wanted to be left alone because it was Father's day and I was upset about my relationship with my children. I don't have one, the state decided for me that I was unfit, and people are $90% shit. Anyhow, I started breaking down, and thats when the neighbors spotted me, mocked and made fun of me. If I were a female, that whole situation would be different. I'm sick of these stupid chicks, and sorry... for NOTHING, they are . Life is easy for a guy. What the fuck ever.

Don't know why you are unfit, maybe there is a valid reason, maybe there isn't. I don't know anything. Nonetheless the result that neighbours made fun of you for crying out in public when they almost certainly would be empathetic of a woman is a sad state of affairs. Of course, maybe your neighbours knew something that made it more justified. I don't know. If I knew a terrible mom was crying because she lost her kids for valid reasons, I might not too empathetic for her either.

Yeah, it is what it is. Just hits me weird when, you know the type, the ones that know very little about hardship are going to talk about how easy is it for others.. it's not even about men and women at that point. I've known women that have been messed over pretty bad too.. but THAT one, in the video, you listen to them talk and you can tell they had a relatively good home, parents, friends, for them to be so confident in their belief means that there have to have been others in their life that encourage it. Where I'm from, the life I know, it's up to me. It especially hurts when you work to overcome so much and have everything ripped away from you. And everywhere you go, "too bad".

MY son drove a armoured car. One day they gave a new courerior female. all the men start out drivers. they told him to help her carry the money box. He said no way Im here to protect truck.

"I fix my own car" Lady, that's called a bus and it's public transport, not private.

My wife is not a feminist but like 99% of women who does she call when she sees a bug, needs batteries in her mouse, candles, or a light bulb changed. Men are wired to make and repair things. Women are wired to do other things. They can try to ignore that but it doesn't hold up.

Conversely, the nutjobs of the world make it their business to spout their drivel at every opportunity, and social media gives them an inexhaustable source of that opportunity. It's like adverts on TV give the impression that we talk about funeral plans with our neighbours over the garden fence on an hourly basis. Same basic logic applies.
