"Men are out here just trying to get to know women and they call it sexual assault" You have no idea how much this hits home. I was talking to a girl who approached me for about 2 or 3 months just casual conversation and the next thing I know I was being called into the office at work being accused of god only knows what and being told I need to stop asking her out.... I never once asked her out and for the past week prior I was dealing with some personal issues and staying to myself barely talking to her. I was like what the actual fuck. Because I stop talking to you, you get mad and pull that shit? Thankfully there are cameras all over my work or I could have lost my job.

Multiple people got involved without me even asking and my manager even told me he had the final say so in the matter and had seen her approaching me not even 2 days prior to say hi. It's shameful because I consider myself a nice guy so I already know I'm "disadvantaged" in the dating relm but several years ago I decided to basically go MGTOW. I flat out refuse to ask females out anymore and honestly, I sometimes get lonely but the vast majority of the time I'm happier than I have ever been.

my point exactly... the reality is that probably 90% of why we look good or want to look good is for other people. even that little bit that's for ourselves is due to how we perceive ourselves based on the overriding/impacting perspective we consciously or unconsciously adhere to in our lives (i.e the "confidence she mentioned) it's a big cap to say I dress a certain way just for myself, like the exposed thighs and cleavage is for my own benefit and not for others to perceive me in an intended way (this isn't a morality pov, it's just logic)

@@thatbooknerdoverthere7899 Not at all. Women refuse to accept simple truths about men, people and the world in general. For example, a woman dresses in sexy, revealing clothing, then expects not to be ogled by men (well, men she doesn't find attractive anyway). Completely illogical. A woman denies her boyfriend or husband sex, but thinks he's some kind of monster if he goes and gets it elsewhere. In her perfect little fantasy world, her man is a slave to her poon. I once told my female friend "Everyone would be much happier if women understood and accepted that all (straight) men like to look at naked ladies." She immediately snapped "Unacceptable!" and stormed off. A simple failure, nay, an unwillingness to accept and adapt to that truth. Men may not understand WHY women are the way they are, but we understand THAT they are the way they are, and we operate within that system. Women simply refuse to accept the way men are, and so they make things difficult for all.

Given the amount of constant reinforcement female entitlement gets from the media, movies, novels and social norms, it's kind of shocking they aren't WORSE. As for the sack of potatoes, good for her. She got herself a man with little effort and a bad attitude. I'm sure he's worth having, and I'm sure it will last.

"I don't care how I look, it's my mind and personality that matters" She's got a point. But here's the thing. I cannot know your mind and personality when i first lay eyes on you. There is no sign saying "faithful wife, has great sense of humor, likes to cook, can actually cook quite decent, not argumentative....and so on" These character traits i literally cannot see when walking up to you for the first time. all i have is my visual impression of you. first you are some kind of blob in my field of vision, then that blob gets a certain shape when i get closer, then the rather unimpressive shape becomes more...shapely and interesting. and then i start to actively notice you. then i notice little details about you. because now you got my attention. not just as a potential obstacle in my way or potential threat. but as a fellow human being. and then i start noticing more and more, maybe even things i like. the more things i like i find on you the more i think you are attractive. reach a certain threshold and i will come up to you and start a conversation. and THEN i get more interested in your mind and personality. because that will not spark my attraction and interest in you, but KEEP IT. now, let's say that quote actually was true, let me ask you this. Why is it, that when going out on formal functions the males dress up in (more or less) bland/generic suit and tie - like the first guy did - and the females dress up flamboyantly, with makeup, facy dress, heels, all the works? if it's the personality and mind that matters and not the looks? so who are you trying to peacock to? Me? yourself??? you know who you are, so no need to impress yourself. other men? other women??? If looks aren't important then why are you comparing yourself to the latest supermodel? why is there beauty standards and who sets them?

"I don't care how i look" is the biggest lie in history. One can have "the best personality", (or better say "the personality which better suits you", because "best personality" means nothing) but if he/she looks like a freaking monster nobody is willing to have a long and stable relationship with (unless he/she looks like a monster too). At the end of the day (or better, of the night) you will get up from bed behind somebody you can't even look in the face, for the rest of your life, and nobody wants it. This is why we want in our houses and even kiss cats and dogs, but nobody (not mentally disturbed) would kiss Cockroaches. This is the reality, and if she doen't like it, well, she can live forever in the world of fantasy until it lasts.

I think it is also how you were raised. I was raised more casually than my husband, so he was more likely to wear a button shirt instead of a t-shirt when we went somewhere. I was more likely to wear t-shirt and jeans UNLESS we were going someplace where dressing nicer was expected. He gradually became more casual and I gradually became a little dressier. We were married nearly 52 years and never worried about or commented on how the other was dressed because we observed the social expectations in our culture.

My wife doesn't always dress up, but she does so every now and then. She also runs the household mostly, which gives me the freedom to concentrate on work, career and income. I worked as a trainer for years and the amount of women that break down crying during the consultations when asking them about weight gain, impacts on their life, their romantic life, etc is so high its ridiculous (I'd say 90% of them cry). Many of them were the "I don't care what people think about me" types and usually freshly single and as their perspective trainer I had to call them out on that bullshit because if someone is gonna pay you thousands of dollars to low grade torture them into good shape, they better have reasoning upfront and honest so you can plan for them accordingly. Plus the positive feedback is easier to give when they are improving and you can use actual measuring tape/clothes to show them how much better they look after the fact.

The stance on this topic changes drastically between two people who are happily together, vs someone single looking for someone. If you're happily together, when that woman or man rolls out of bed looking disheveled wearing only a shirt can be one of the most attractive things you can possibly see, but that is because you know whats under it all already. Clothes AND skin. As for being single, looking good can raise confidence which is also attractive on both sides, but being comfortable with yourself also shows through too. Find the middle ground, but be aware of what you want and want to attract and dress accordingly.

I dated a girl who usually put effort into her appearance for me, but I noticed when she was going out with her girlfriends she always looked nice. I brought it to her attention that didn't appreciate that she seemed to put in more effort when she was going out without me and that she was dressing like she was single. She seemed baffled and slightly offended that it bothered me. She tried to explain to me that I had it all wrong. It was a sign and I was not blind to it, but ignored it because I listened to her. Eventually she broke up with me because she said she didn't feel the same way about us anymore. This was not a surprise to me, since I saw the signs, but was surprising to me is how in denial she was when I called her out on her behavior. Fellas, don't ignore the signs, even if they deny it. It's evolutionarily prudent to want to be with someone who appears like they can take care of themselves in a variety of ways, including their health, body, and appearance. Trying to buck against that is ridiculous. We all strive to do and be the best we can, and want a partner who does the same. The greatest attractive women we can get is according unto the WORD OF THE KING of kings, LORD of lords!!!! HIS WORD gives me chills! 10 Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies. 11 The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil. 12 She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life. 13 She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands. 14 She is like the merchants' ships; she bringeth her food from afar. 15 She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household, and a portion to her maidens. 16 She considereth a field, and buyeth it: with the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard. 17 She girdeth her loins with strength, and strengtheneth her arms. 18 She perceiveth that her merchandise is good: her candle goeth not out by night. 19 She layeth her hands to the spindle, and her hands hold the distaff. 20 She stretcheth out her hand to the poor; yea, she reacheth forth her hands to the needy. 21 She is not afraid of the snow for her household: for all her household are clothed with scarlet. 22 She maketh herself coverings of tapestry; her clothing is silk and purple. 23 Her husband is known in the gates, when he sitteth among the elders of the land. 24 She maketh fine linen, and selleth it; and delivereth girdles unto the merchant. 25 Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come. 26 She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness. 27 She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness. 28 Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her. 29 Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all. 30 Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised. 31 Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates.

So, I was usually pony-tailed & in shorts. but, if I agreed to meet the guy later I wore makeup & styled my hair. I think it is important for a woman, in the beauty of youth, to be comfortable being seen without makeup. I think men sense this & agree there is something wrong with being too made up. 2. When I was a stay-at-home mom with a newborn, I hated my grubbiness. My husband would never complain--out loud or inner thoughts. He understood it was hard times for me. I was very pleased when I was able to find the energy & time to get the haircut, put on makeup, & wear attractive, but simple, clothes.

Time to time she will dress up to make herself feel pretty and Damn every time she does it reminds me it makes my heart flutter. Everyday I trim, shave, stay clean for myself as well as for Her. Hell, I even exercise to keep my weight healthy and to her ideals to make her happy.

For me to know females wear clothing belongs to males is the same and stupid. A kink is what it is No difference. Can’t respect anyones existences when I see that woman are allowed to wear clothing that doesn’t belong to the female sex that she has been born as. It really made me feel weird when my wife used to be dressed sharp for work, come home a get into her pajamas. I said it sure would be nice to see you in your nice clothes for dinner. She actually said, ok I’ll keep them on until after dinner, and that made me feel special. I gave her tons of compliments too. I have always dressed nice for my wife, and stayed in shape. She really appreciates me for that, and that makes me feel good too. She showers me with complements and that’s awesome too. It’s easy after several years of marriage (28 for me), to forget that it’s never too late to dress to impress. It seems like dinner dates.

@@sandrakay287 very true but there is quite a lot of women that get offended and actually don’t feel like they need to dress up because then men can only “objectify” them more. I’ll never forget at a bar one time like 10 years ago this girl had unbelievable cleavage showing and we were talking totally calm and it was pleasant and she drunkenly snapped out of nowhere for staring at her chest which I actually wasn’t I mean I absolutely saw it you couldn’t not haha but that scarred me for awhile, you never know what if even saying hello to them will be a problem, it hasn’t happened to me but I’ve seen guys gets called creepy or looked at real weird just for a simple hi. Not all women are that way I know it just seems like it’s the whole feminist movement that has told women they shouldn’t put up with a guy who is only interested in yours looks when that’s the first thing we see and is why we come up to you in the first place, idk why I just ranted lol sorry I obviously needed to get something out

@@mypud4068 nah, you’re right. Heck yeah, the first thing everyone notices is how you look. Regardless of gender. Let’s be real. If you don’t find me attractive, then why would I want you around saying how ugly I am? That wouldn’t be a happy place. If a guy looks at my cleavage, I don’t care. I’ll continue talking. Now if the guy is brain dead while looking at cleavage, I’ll say “hey, are you ok? Did you hear what I said? I can zip up my sweater if they’re that much of a distraction. Talk to me.” Simple as that. I hate when women go off on men, as if we don’t stare at them like a piece of meat too. We all appreciate looking at someone we find attractive. My man can think of me as a hot piece of ass and respect me too. It’s not an either or thing. I’m more modestly dressed in a relationship because I don’t want to draw any unwanted attention. Case by case basis The girls that yell at you, run! Run from those women cause they’re single for a reason and if they’re doing that for every little thing…there is no winning.

A true story about dressing nice when going out even to a grocery store. This happened back in the 1980s. My mother was getting ready for the day when her sister-in-law called her and asked her if she wanted to go with her shopping. She just needed a few things from the drug store. My Mother told her she was still getting ready. Literally had curlers still in her hair. My aunt told her it wouldn't matter they were only going out for a minute. She put a veil over her head to hide the curlers and went out with my aunt. And they went to the drug store. So why am I telling you this story? Because while my mother and aunt were shopping, the drug store was doing a promotional. Photographers and all. My mother and aunt ended up on the front of the advertisement material that was later publically released. Mom was embarrassed as hell. Dad got a good chuckle out of it. I don't think she ever left the house again without touching up her beauty routine first.

I can't remember who it was - one of the great Hollywood Beauties - Ava Gardner, maybe? Anyhow, I remember reading some advice from her for women - she said dress well and be put together even if you are just taking a bag out to the bins - because you NEVER know who you might see, or what might happen. Do you have to have flawless makeup and an amazing outfit all the time? Clearly not - but make an effort, and make it part of your routine. This is just like telling people "dress for the job you want".
