Agree. I was in Culiacan, Mexico afew years back when Diego was managing their 2nd Division team and stayed at the hotel that he was living in. My luck, they had an away match and he wasn't around. All the employees said he was brilliant and the waiters at a restaurant across the street said he could be brilliant or dismissive at worst. Unfortunately, thats the closest I got to the man. The Netflix series on him in Mexico is great watch.

Diego Maradona’s “hand of God” cheating goal was by far the most memorable moment in my history of being a football fan. However, I forgave him not long after because he was such a towering genius of a footballer and gave me such enormous pleasure watching him. He all but the 1986 World Cup for Argentina on his own and they would definitely have never have won it without him!
A classic Football KZread video ! Well done Gary !
Most iconic Sportsman ever, by a landslide.
Dammit I miss him!🕊️😭
Maradona was my favorite footballer…If alcohols and drugs hadn’t consumed him, he would have gone down as the best in the history of football….Alcohols and drugs extinguished the fire in that small magician…His ball control and vision of the game were unparalleled…I still consider him as one of the greatest, but in terms of longevity, trophies, and individual awards, I think Messi is now the greatest..l love Maradona…May his soul continue to rest in peace…As lover of football from Nigeria, I must confess, Argentina is known for producing football geniuses…They are blessed, and Messi and Maradona will always be on top of the list….

Thanks so much for posting
Maradona showed all of us what skill and dedication looks like, and how vulnerable we all are. Best ever. Alongside Ali.
Piala Dunia 82 sudah ada Diego Maradona, namun piala Dunia 86 aku masih mengingatnya sampai sekarang, Piala Dunia 1990 akupun masih menjagokannya sampai yang terakhir piala dunia 1994, . sekarang aku bisa melihat dirinya dalam diri Lionel Messi,la pulga sangat luar biasa, saya yakin Diego sangat bangga padanya. Gary Lineker aku sangat suka dengannya ,dia sangat berkelas dan elegan!!
I wish time could stop or go back. Anyone who knows or has been closely involved in the world of drugs knows how difficult it is to get out of the hole. We see Maradona calm, healthy and within his weight, reunited with his family. A shame, what could have happened to end the way it did.

While Maradonna was indeed a great footballer, Gary Lineker was a great footballer and is a great human. A man so humble, who was Maradonna's opposite number, showing up at his house, speaking Spanish and interviewing courageously yet courteously, simply underlines Gary's true greatness. Rather sad Diego couldn't more graciously honor his former foe who'd traveled so far to interview him and share his story.

Interesting when he's with Mike Tyson. They both have so much in common as professional sportsmen who were immense talents, the best in the world by far and in their absolute primes at the same time in the mid to late 80s. But both became very troubled in their personal lives and went down the slippery slope into doom around the same time too.

@@NRM-sl1nx In reply there was some theory that Britain had been in cahoots to make sure West Germany got to the final- imagine that! As well starting the English League and International Football the Scots did have history (as did the English upper classes) in Argentina…. the ‘Fathers’ of Argentine (and Brazilian) Football. Many of the shirts worn I know of were due to players like Caniggia and Juan Sara playing in Scotland (he wore my Sombrero) and the Dundee change strip. Later, documentary alleged the Argentinians (with the gleeful English based press desperate to put the Sweaties back in their box) put the boot in ‘78 just like they had been treated in 1966 - no training facilities, bus drivers getting them lost and no-warm-ups allowed before matches with England. The subsequent protests were similar to the feelings of Pele: ‘The death of the myth of ‘British’ fair.’ It’s just football. Be of the players that day - was Brown- a direct descent of Alex Hutton. It’s the way of being British - always in the shadow of those who claim ‘ Coming Home’ and the apparent ignorance of it. The use of jocks exemplifies it- saw it in the forces- couldn’t reciprocate. Saw it it done casually on the telly in front of Piers Morgan a few years back… ‘Sweaties’ not a flinch. Other way about and any Jockanese wannabes risk their career/ success. There would be hoo-hah. Yours Aye!

Its horrifically bad sportsmanship to deliberately foul someone to prevent them from scoring or creating a goal, but it happened to Maradona all the time, as it did the likes of Pele, George Best, Paul Gascoigne etc. I was more pissed at the West German team 4 years later who constantly DIVED to get players booked and try to win free-kicks etc. Remember Rijkaad & Voller in the last 16 match? Gazza getting a yellow card when the German player dived? Two Argentinian players getting red carded in the final after all the German diving?

@@glennthompson1971 He didn't exactly lie - the 'hand of God' comment was just a cheeky response to a question he was asked after the match. I can understand the England players anger at him, but you have to realise that Maradona was repeatedly and deliberately fouled throughout the 1986 World cup before and after the hand of God goal, including by England players. In fact, Diego should have been awarded a penalty in the final against West German, but he never got it, and that would have been another goal for him (as penalty taker). Maradona never bitched or moaned about it, and Argentina were shafted in the 1990 World Cup final by a West German team who constantly dived.............but I never heard Diego moan about it.
