Atheism is a lot bigger in Asia then any religion and keeps growing strong because non existing god cannot help you, only you can and your friends can help you and your familly. Prayers do nothing while actions does everything! This is why religion is dying.

As a korean, I would like to add sth. Since korea still practice conscription policy, currently 95% of every male population should go through military service. In boots camp, military give only three options for religion activity. Since meals in boots camp is awful and they intentionally regulate all kind of sugar. but if you attend church, church offers you free snacks, which is only opportunity to get some free time and suger, everyone voluntarily rush to church and chapel....churches in boots camp are massive and you guys really should watch how magnificent that thousand of troops just lining up on church to get some bits of sugar. Military really plays major roll on spreading Christianity.

My story begins like this, I see the Lord's hand from the time of my conception in my life, My Mom wanted to abort me, I was saved due to the efforts of a Doctor who is a Catholic Nun, All my childhood memories are flooded with how I searched for God, I was very much involved in all religious activities but I still did not have the real peace in his heart. I often wondered, “After all these religious ceremonies which I am performing every day, am I in right relationship with God? Is he drawing closer to me? My earliest encounter with Christ was big image of the Sacred Heart, I always felt called by Him, During classes and even at break I used to look at Him, the day His eyes met mine, He never left me, I still was a stauch Hindu, I wanted to overcome my karma by performing devotional rituals, but fear of death and reincarnation had overcome me, the words of Christ to Martha has set me free " I am the Resurrection", I followed Jesus right from I was 11, I was hated by my family and relatives for my faith in Him, but the Lord was gracious enough to take me into His fold when I was 16, I was baptized along with my Mom and maternal Grandmother into the Church. Jesus my Savior, my King my all in all changed my life, there is no meaning to life without Him.

christianity ruined my childhood. fuck that bullshit. it's all lies and complete child abuse. there is no hell. you should not tell kids that there is. especially when you don't have a clear answer nor does the bible have a clear answer for salvation. scripture contradicts itself and doesn't lay it out clearly. some denomination say salvation by works, others say salvation by faith, others say salvation by indulgences. you should be able to go to the bible and get a clear answer, but the 4 gospels contradict the book of James on this matter - the literally most important matter for humans, since eternal torture vs not eternal torture depends on it. it's also just all made up bullshit. that should become clear from studying history and science, but it takes a certain amount of ignorance to keep believing.

Thank you for dealing with this subject.^^ But there is an error. 1:02 Joseon offered tribute to Ming and respected Ming, but Joseon was NOT a vassal kingdom or subordinate country of Ming. Tribute was a form of international order in East Asia at the time. Ancient Japan paid tribute to Joseon. However, historians do not say that Japan was a vassal country of Joseon. Although they exchanged tribute depending on the relationship of power, they were completely different and independent countries. This is a very sensitive issue. Because the Chinese Communist Party falsely claims that ancient Korean history is subordinate to Chinese history. But this is not true. China is distorting history because they have a political purpose to justify influencing North Korea. But we Koreans have different ethnic roots from Chinese and we have kept our identity for thousands of years.. I ask you to correct this error.

Date, time place, numbers, date, time, place numbers, ect. Would like some discussion on why the Korean culture was more warm to the spread of Christianity, a bit more on how resistant the elite were, and maybe just taking more of a relaxed pace talking about it all. The later segments of the video that moved towards our current time got smoother. Otherwise, I'm a fan, and I did like the topic of interest

After spending time in China I guess I took it for granted that east asian people were not Christian. I wondered how that happened but now I know. Thanks for sharing. It is pretty interesting that the conversion was self initiated in this case.

Tom Kelly Seriously, how many Asians have you met? Outside the PRC, in the diaspora, there are quite a few Chinese Christians as well, and the 'underground' church on the mainland might be bigger than we expect. But Xi's tyrannical government is trying to tighten the screws. However missionaries are desperately needed throughout the far East, as indeed they are in the secular West. I've read that South Korea sends out more missionaries in proportion to their own population than any other country.

So even in modern days many non-christians are aware of God the creator.

Interesting history! Regarding South Korea, I must say that Samsung and Hyundai are two of the greatest companies in the World. They single-handedly developed South Korea from a completely poor agrarian society to a rich industrial powerhouse. Imagine a few companies having such a significance for an entire nation. Icon conglomerates!

@John Doe Yes, that's what makes it more impressive. Prior to state funding they were minor family businesses with limited experience being put in such a precarious situation by a desperate state where the entire future of your nation relies on a few family companies. They managed to create a highly competitive and diversified industrial output at an insanely rapid pace against the odds. That's really impressive considering the circumstances. As you said the entire nation are still heavily reliant on these companies to this day. Between them, they pretty much employ 25-35% of the population if I'm not mistaken. That's extremely impressive anywhere in the World.

@@chanpasadopolska Not really. Its the government that adopts socialism. But the economy is guided capitalism. Singapore, Nordic European countries uses variation of such system. Communist China is the biggest example of such system.

There is an economic model called 'japanese model'. Not everything is a binary of socialist and capitalist. Do people think people don't have economic models before these two were born???

@Allah is Satan The proof is 1. He had his program on TBN, and 2. TBN includes many false prophets telling people to send them money so God will bless them, when that is not how God operates. They're greedy and materialistic, when Jesus said to sell your stuff. I have a computer for work and research and preaching, and communication with those far away, so it's the greater good.

As a Malaysian Catholic,I loving learning about Catholic History at Asia. Malaysia and Japan receiving Catholic Church during Portuguese conquest of Asia and spread by Saint Francis Xavier. But we received 50 year earlier that Japan(in the year 1509). We feel very long suppression by the medieval government it self, but now we can enjoying religious freedom in our country. But now, I already know not only my nation have a religion suppression!!🇲🇾❤️🇯🇵❤️🇰🇷

@@elkingoh4543 I can't see the other comments but you are correct. Non-Catholics are not Christians. However vatican 2 is a fake council and we've had several heretic 'Popes' since then. Pope Eugene IV, “Cantate Domino", Council of Florence "It firmly believes, professes, and proclaims that those not living within the Catholic Church, not only pagans, but also Jews and heretics and schismatics cannot become participants in eternal life, but will depart “into everlasting fire which was prepared for the devil and his angels”, unless before the end of life the same have been added to the flock; and that the unity of the ecclesiastical body is so strong that only to those remaining in it are the sacraments of the Church of benefit for salvation, and do fastings, almsgiving, and other functions of piety and exercises of Christian service produce eternal reward, and that no one, whatever almsgiving he has practiced, even if he has shed blood for the name of Christ, can be saved, unless he has remained in the bosom and unity of the Catholic Church."
