As a child whose parents were former farmers, I've realized that even most fruits & veggies at Farmer's Markets aren't natural. We used to live down south & mostly sold in the Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, & Arkansas area. There were weekly auctions for Farmers to go buy fruits & veggies at cheaper wholesale prices, then they would go sell them at Farmers Markets on weekends. When you go to those auctions, you realize all the people there are all the sellers you'd see at the Markets on the weekends claiming their items are all natural. When you become a farmer in the States, you realize how hard it is to compete with that market. Every seller is getting their stuff from these auctions while you're working really hard trying to grow your own stuff & sell it, so eventually you just start doing what everyone else is doing, otherwise you just can't compete. Our family still grew all the Asian stuff that wouldn't be sold at by American farmers, & we'd grow like cucumbers & stuff like that. The most bought stuff at those auctions were tomatoes. While selling at the Farmer's Market, every seller had the same boxes of tomatoes. Tomatoes were always the bestseller.
