she is gorgeous as whoever she is, but let be real she was never "fit" those "korean beauty standards". back then, korean more obsessed with small face, sharp chin, etc. but somin's are the opposite, her face type is wide and her chin isnt sharp. she suffered to fit among those standards and finally the world slowly changing and she is now accepted and can show her own unique charm 🥰.

@@Noble482 true. It always left kinda bad taste in my mouth that they do that though because even if she takes it on the chin she is a sensitive soul. Especially because they would always pit SJH's beauty against hers in the early days and basically put her down to satisfy SJH fans (maybe even SJH herself? Idk. She never told them to stop or acted humble lol). Something I love about Somin is she has always been herself on the show, never afraid to act girly and look feminine, even though some "fans" gave her shit for that (we all know who...) JSM is legit one of the most beautiful Korean actresses in my opinion 😍

Admittedly there are times when I get unhappy when they do things like that but Somin is strong , I’m sure those words won’t hurt her and the members all adore and love her, so I don’t have any problems with it. The only thing is toxic fans use it as an opportunity to hate on her🤮

Exactly, ikr. Ofc, I'm sure they're just teasing her knowing how she'd react to it, but as we all can see, she's someone who takes these things quite seriously and though she may be smiling for the camera, she might not be so deep inside. And its just the 2 ladies in RM and they create such an environment where they keep praising one and not enough on the other, that makes me feel bad for her.

@@truffles365 why pit the women against each other when it's the men doing the comparing... korean culture is quite misogynistic where men will lead the show and compare the women with each other, even though we all know how much somin and jihyo care for each other. they've called ji hyo more names in the past, I guess it's just humorous in their culture. There's one thing I'll never understand is why even the fans think that liking somin means they have to dislike ji hyo. You can appreciate both of them while being a fan of one.
